Fognini does very little prep for shots, he's just standing there hitting, when on the run he makes mistakes. Make him move Andy.

bookbook · 07/07/2017 20:55

gosh , that was exhausting !

GrouchyKiwi · 07/07/2017 20:55

Good man, Andy. Good man.

books DH has brought me healthy food now. Wink

Beingrippedoff · 07/07/2017 20:56

Please get your first serves in this time Andy! This is exhausting Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 07/07/2017 20:58

What a way to close it out. I am impressed with how he came back from that low head space period.

bookbook · 07/07/2017 20:58

wow- much credit for battling through that!

  • I missed the first point to get some chocolate Blush
DramaAlpaca · 07/07/2017 20:58

Thank goodness for that!

Hope the hip holds up for the next match, at least he'll have a couple of days off now.

Beingrippedoff · 07/07/2017 20:59

Yes the rest will do him good, but very impressive to have come back from that! 5 games in a row

jellyshoeswithdiamonds · 07/07/2017 20:59

Yes, with an ace

MrsPear · 07/07/2017 21:01

My god I don't know about them but I'm exhausted! Fodgy as ds1 called him was rather attractive. Although young Blush best get the boys to bed!

GrouchyKiwi · 07/07/2017 21:04

Foggy is 30. Not sure if that makes anyone feel better? I feel like he would have mirrors everywhere.

Andy's Dad looked like he was going to throw up at one point. The nerves must be awful for parents.

bookbook · 07/07/2017 21:07

no it doesn't Grouchy Grin - thats the age of my youngest!

DramaAlpaca · 07/07/2017 21:08

MIrrors everywhere, oh I'm sure he does. He preens & struts like a peacock Grin

trixymalixy · 07/07/2017 21:24

What a great match. Nicely ruined by DH telling me the result as I had paused it to have dinner. 🙈

MrsPear · 07/07/2017 21:37

Ltb trixy Grin

He is same age as my younger sister - nope not possible plus he was called a peacock by one of the commentars and I think that is a perfect description.

Seriously I'm impressed with Andy's mind to overcome and win. That was a match that proved it is a mental thing rather than technique etc to win at that level.

The80sweregreat · 07/07/2017 21:40

Bravo muzza!
Tennis is such a duel.

hugoagogo · 07/07/2017 21:42

Andy was not playing as he should, but my goodness; to come back from that takes balls of steel.

The80sweregreat · 07/07/2017 21:53

I dont think he will win it this year, but my god he is such a good player.
A marmite person, but you cant deny that win today when really up against it.
One of Scotlands finest sportsmen.

Peregrina · 07/07/2017 22:12

That 4th set was painful to watch and 5:2 down, but well done to Andy for being able to pull it back.

AmIthatbloodycold · 07/07/2017 22:20

Balls of steel indeed.

DD asked me not to check scores because she didn't want me in a bad mood Grin

AmIthatbloodycold · 07/07/2017 22:25

Trixy. Don't LTB but tmake him sort dinner. We had snacky stuff halfway through the match

magimedi · 07/07/2017 22:28

Andy won ugly. But he won.

Hope he goes all the way.

And also hope Jo goes all the way. She's my (nearly) home town girl & the buzz round the town here for her is amazing.

Having been at Wimbledon three times this week, in the cauldron otherwise know as Centre Court, I am astonished that the players are able to play such quality tennis.
Lots of people around me were going out every few games to get out of the sun, collect drinks etc.
Nadal seems to be the player doing best out of the big 4. I find him terrifying and I am not across the net from him!

The place seems terribly crowded this year, I wonder if they are issuing more grounds passes? I didn't dare go near Henman Hill, which looks like the seventh circle of hell!

SanFranBear · 08/07/2017 00:44

Three times this week.. I am sooooo jealous, million

trixymalixy · 08/07/2017 08:46

I'm jealous too!! I'd love another trip to Wimbledon.

DH is completely unrepentant so I am considering his punishment carefully.....
