Brrr Gave me chills. On last night but possibly a repeat, Found that Scottish guy John really really disturbing. In fact it me an actual nightmare.
It was the combination of being gross in so many ways and then being confident enough to be actually really rude to the point of nasty to his date. He date seemed a lovely chap too.
Loved the young travelling couple. So much cuter than anything on Live Island.

I love First Dates! Started watching last nights but was too tired so thought I'll get the rest tomorrow. Can't believe I switched off! I did watch the clip that's been shown and I do think he may have his own issues but I can't believe he behaved the way he did and on TV too!
And agree the other guy appeared pretty nice and down to earth.

Onceafortnight · 07/06/2017 19:24

I have just watched it. Really uncomfortable. The other guy was too good for him anyway.

Raspberriesaretheonlyfruit · 07/06/2017 19:26

I'd agree he probably has issues but even so, someone has done a poor job of raising him.

I was about to post on this as well. What a horrible, sinister man. I felt so sorry for the other guy.

Vintageproblem · 07/06/2017 19:49

Such an unpleasant man. Didn't like the way he was looking at the waiter, very predatory.
Felt very sorry for his date, he seemed lovely.

ImperialBlether · 07/06/2017 19:53

I was surprised he was only 28 - he seemed much older than that. He seemed so predatory and belligerent. At any moment I expected him to start a fight. Awful bloke.

MrsEricBana · 07/06/2017 20:01

Yes horrible man and his date was very lovely and very dignified.

PerspicaciaTick · 07/06/2017 20:03

Had he got pissed in advance to give himself dutch courage? He seemed so desperately unaware of himself and how others might see him.

Raspberriesaretheonlyfruit · 07/06/2017 20:23

No, I think he got pissed because he likes getting pissed. He was extremely unaware so didn't need Dutch courage.
I felt a bit sorry for him in the beginning and also thought he might have special needs. But then he obviously got through the interview process to be on the show so he knows what he supposed to say sometimes.
Yuck to chatting up the waiter too. Dread to think what he considers his type. I can't imagine him having a meaningful relationship.

ImperialBlether · 07/06/2017 20:28

He was drinking so quickly, wasn't he? I knew there was going to be a walk-out and hoped it was the other guy.

He chatted up the waiter and Fred, too!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/06/2017 00:06

He was a disgusting pig of a man with no manners whatsoever!

MyGastIsFlabbered · 08/06/2017 07:26

He was horrific. I think the other guy had a lucky escape. It didn't give me nightmares though, but I'm thankful my blind dating days are (hopefully) behind me.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/06/2017 08:31

He was 28,he looked 128!!! Heavy drinker though, takes its toll on you.

danTDM · 08/06/2017 11:55

Surely he was an alcoholic? He had big yellow patches around his eyes... liver damage. He was downing drinks all the way through.
Other guy was lovely.
I always cry when I watch First Dates Hmm

Oblomov17 · 08/06/2017 12:04

I was really shocked too. Been watching 'First Dates' for a long time. Also liked the travelling couple eating strawberries. Bless them.

HangingRock · 08/06/2017 12:16

Was it an episode with a couple called Precious and Earle? Just looking back to which episode was shown on Tues so I can watch it.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/06/2017 12:43

Yes

IntheBenefitTrap · 08/06/2017 13:10

The Scottish guy really unnerved me. There was something very sinister about him. I can't believe he was only 28.

lucydogz · 08/06/2017 13:13

actually, horrible as it was, I'd have really hated it if they had gone off together.

danTDM · 08/06/2017 13:32

Yes, true lucy that would have been worse.

28, was actually unbelievable. He was vile and that was on television. Imagine in private. Well, don't actually.

SheGotOffThePlane · 08/06/2017 13:35

I was horrified watching it. His date seemed a lovely guy, but John, well, he behaved appallingly.
Clearly a very heavy drinker. I was shocked at the way he looked at the waiter.

noenemee · 08/06/2017 13:37

He was very yellow bruised around the eyes. Definitely had an air of menace about him and if you'd told me he was 48 I'd still have thought he'd had a hard life.

The rest of the programme was good though. Didn't Precious look fabulous.

danTDM · 08/06/2017 14:53

The other couples were lovely! Let's think about them instead.
I wouldn't be surprised if he murdered somebody.

lalalala578 · 08/06/2017 15:18

Is this episode 9? I have it on series link but I only have up to episode 8 for some reason x

happinessbythekilowatt · 08/06/2017 15:21

Yeah he behaved in a really odd manner. I was watching it with DP and we were both shocked.
