Brrr Gave me chills. On last night but possibly a repeat, Found that Scottish guy John really really disturbing. In fact it me an actual nightmare.
It was the combination of being gross in so many ways and then being confident enough to be actually really rude to the point of nasty to his date. He date seemed a lovely chap too.
Loved the young travelling couple. So much cuter than anything on Live Island.

I was more shocked at Precious's age!

TizzyDongue · 08/06/2017 15:34

All the other couples were great though weren't they? Especially Presicous and Earle.

John was hideous, both in person and personality.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/06/2017 16:32

The other couples were lovely! Let's think about them instead.
I wouldn't be surprised if he murdered somebody

I properly laughed at thatGrin

ImperialBlether · 08/06/2017 16:35

Me too!

lucydogz · 08/06/2017 16:38

I love Blind Dates so much. I think I over invest though. I really felt for the chap with the flat cap, who had a cat. It felt as though he'd had a rough life and could do with some mothering and I just wanted to have him over and feed him up.

DianaT1969 · 08/06/2017 16:50

How youthful and attractive was Precious? Amazing. Earl couldn't believe his luck.

DianaT1969 · 08/06/2017 16:52

The young travelling couple were so likeable and well-matched. They could have their own spin off series Smile

ImperialBlether · 08/06/2017 16:55

I liked him, too, Lucy, but I knew what the girl meant - they weren't similar. It would be really nice to see him on there again - the other gay guy, too.

happinessbythekilowatt · 08/06/2017 17:05

If anyone is thinking about watching First Dates Australia however - please don't. Grin The couples are truly insufferable! We had to switch off when a young couple kept mentioning that they "go gym" 😩

squoosh · 08/06/2017 17:07

I saw the intro to that date and immediately got bad vibes from the 28 year old (could not believe he was only 28) so switched it off. Now I'm intrigued to watch it and see what happened!

squoosh · 08/06/2017 17:09

I don't watch the show religiously but my favourite ever couple from the episodes I've seen were Phil and Sarah. They made me feel all the happy feelings! Grin

Australia one is really quite odd!

lalalala578 · 08/06/2017 17:32

Remember the couple that got engaged. They had a special where they brought back the successful couples and he proposed on the show? I heard they had split 😞

lalalala578 · 08/06/2017 17:34

I remember feeling so envious. He seemed really nice.

happinessbythekilowatt · 08/06/2017 17:47

@DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen it is isn't it?! Every couple just seemed very self obsessed. Obviously you get those occasionally on UK First Dates but they were just Confused

ImperialBlether · 08/06/2017 17:50

I don't remember them, lala - do you know which series it was?

squoosh · 08/06/2017 17:51

They had a special where they brought back the successful couples and he proposed on the show?

kiss of death right there.

The restaurant is meant to be 'fancy' but looks really dated .

The couples have nothing interesting to say for themselves and look bizarrely dressed- hooker type 80's evening dress for a lunch dateConfused men in gym gear.

No manners!

Most of them look like they've never sat down at a table let alone held a conversation over dinner.

Canadian one is even worse!!

happinessbythekilowatt · 08/06/2017 18:11

@DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen you have summed it up perfectly Grin they're from a parallel universe!

I think I'll have to watch the Canadian one now just for a laugh Grin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/06/2017 18:20

Dh and I always watch FD and we choose partners for each other-anyone pretty and sweet for dh and Eton/ private school toff boy for me- but dh says if I ever want to guarantee him NOT to have an affair ( apart from the fact I'd nail his bollox to the garden gate) he says to send him to Canada as "they're all so.... bloody strange there's NO chance he'd stray!!!" Confused

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/06/2017 18:21

**Confused was meant to be Grin

Raspberriesaretheonlyfruit · 08/06/2017 18:36

Yes loved Precious and Earle and remember loving her song " one way ticket" from my youth.
The match up on the shows are very good. Even the misses aren't far off most of the time ( aside from John the jaundiced )

Watched one from Europe. Think it was Spanish. That was very odd. Cheap cafe place, over the top creepy " Fred" and ugly little men with stunning women. No attempt to properly match judging from the subtilitles. Thereby totally missing the point.

CrazyExIngenue · 08/06/2017 18:45

He was 28!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought he was late 40's for sure! They'd better bring back his poor date for a second chance! Preferably with someone who isn't 2 drinks from liver failure!
