No, Mary isn't Paula but I think there is a superstitious belief that you see dead people when you are near it yourself. I also think Mary appeared to warn him.

Mary died though, surely. I think James thinks she came back. Why did he kill the dog??

He had a strange obsession with Paula and got rid of anyone who competed with him for her attention perhaps?

It's the scariest thing I have ever seen. On both counts, James and Paula. Poor dog. Where did it even come from? Why did the boy disappear who she helped?

We still don't understand so much! Why did she like to be tied up? Why was her home life so fractured?

But we don't know that Mary died.

A lot has not been explained but they did show clips from previous episodes to help us piece it together perhaps? We were reminded of their one night stand where she said "You could be a psycho." and he replied "YOU could be a psycho." So there you go, James was out-psychoed.

Well, Mary appears out of nowhere so I think we can assume she's a ghost. There was no way she could have got in at the end if she was human.

That last episode did not tie up any loose ends. It's all still loose ffs

I think Paula is Mary DH doesn't agree. Wish they had explained the two girlfriend situation, I should give up on BBC thrillers they all have unanswered questions....

Also when he was in that box/coffin it was horrible to watch, I felt claustrophobic just watching. Actually was Paula getting revenge for Mary, she was Mary in an alternate life when she slept with James??
