Oh yes, I'd forgotten all about Blue Velvet!! May need to rewatch that too!!

LottieandMia · 03/06/2017 16:08

So is episode 5 on Monday?

LucyLocketLostIt · 04/06/2017 11:32

The US release date for episode 5 is today. Do they show it early hours here?

I'm watching on Now TV so hopefully we'll get next one tomorrow!

AgentCooper · 04/06/2017 11:41

I'm really looking forward to seeing how things develop now that Cooper is out of the Black Lodge! Yes, it's all a bit frustrating and I do hanker after all the old stuff but I'm enjoying it! And hell, I had no idea that was Ronette Pulaski!!

And by the way, I've had this username for years GrinBrew

Garnethair · 04/06/2017 21:06

I'm loving this new series. Not understanding it all, but it washes over you and makes sense eventually (hopefully). I love seeing how the characters have matured over the years. Bobby as a policeman for example. Interesting that the actor who played Killer Bob died some years ago, so won't be returning. (No fear of having nightmares about him). However, I did have nightmares two nights in a row about the thing coming out of the glass box. Won't be watching any more episodes at night.

LucyLocketLostIt · 05/06/2017 17:37

Episode 5 is up on Now TV!

Garnethair · 05/06/2017 19:25

Watching it now..

TheLogLady · 05/06/2017 19:31

Oh I am enjoying this. Completely bonkers brilliant.

I have no idea what is happening, why or anything else but I get slightly emotional and over excited about the whole thing..

LucyLocketLostIt · 05/06/2017 23:35

Anyone else recognise Mike?

LottieandMia · 06/06/2017 00:43

Yay the background jazz music is back!!

OP posts:
WeSailTonightForSingapore · 06/06/2017 00:48

Yes! I thought Mike looked exactly the same as 25 years ago - he's ages well!

Agent Grin

WeSailTonightForSingapore · 06/06/2017 00:49

Lottie, this episode's Roadhouse band is especially good. One guitarist is Lynch's son!

YouWouldntLetItLie · 06/06/2017 15:32

I'm rewatching the first 2 series with DP (who 'thinks he might have seen a few episodes') before even attempting series 3. Quite bittersweet seeing it again through 25 year older eyes - the acting is (deliberately?) creaky, but the overall feel is still like nothing else. DSS (19) sat down in the middle of one episode and managed about ten minutes before wandering off, baffled.

LottieandMia · 06/06/2017 20:28

Good Cooper not being able to function is such good comic value!

I do think you need to have watched the first two seasons though otherwise no hope of understanding it.

I didn't really understand much of episode 5. Episode 4 made slightly more sense to me. Will persevere.

RJnomore1 · 06/06/2017 20:45

So far I think

Eps 1 and 2 scene setters and introducing new ideas and characters

Ep 3 bizarre lynch at his very surreal best

Ep 4 pure comedy

And now on 5 half way through I think this one is moving the plot on a bit so far.

WeSailTonightForSingapore · 06/06/2017 21:17

YouWouldnt I am amused but not surprised by your DS's reaction!

Sycamore I think it makes more sense if you don't try to look for sense, iykwm.... It's what youwouldnt said above; there is a feel to it. He emulates dreams a lot. e.g. dreams don't technically make logical or narrative sense, but when you're dreaming, it does. So watching a Lynch production often has a dreamlike quality, it makes sense but it doesn't but it does if you don't think about it too much Grin

That said, you still need to have seen Series 1 and 2... for Series 3 to make sense even a little bit.

Confuses self. Pours wine

kelashan · 09/06/2017 17:51

Hello all was reading all of your posts about how good this is! I finally downloaded the first ever season an I have to say WOW!

It's a tad confusing and the amount of characters thrown at you in the first episode!! My mind is trying to adjust haha!

I didn't see this first time around but I have now downloaded season two. It's addictive in a strange kind of way Grin

WeSailTonightForSingapore · 09/06/2017 21:04

Welcome.Kelashan!

The first season is good, isn't it? Let us know what you think. I'm sure we can answer any questions about confusing plotlines etc.

LottieandMia · 13/06/2017 10:11

I'm confused - who is that small guy and why is he murdering people? I assume it has something to do with Dougie? And if good Cooper doesn't come to his senses soon he won't escape him?

Piffpaffpoff · 13/06/2017 16:25

I haven't got a clue what's happening in this new series! I did find a section of today's particularly gratuitous (and it set off my PTSD) so I hope it has some purpose to the story. It was the bit with the truck.

LottieandMia · 13/06/2017 19:30

Omg that was awful too. Just dreadful. :(

SarfEast1cated · 13/06/2017 19:40

I tried to start watching the latest episode and realise that I don't have the patience to watch it now. It seems so ponderous dated and slow. I turned it off and watched Handmaid's Tale instead.

InDubiousBattle · 13/06/2017 21:56

Piff, I'm watching it now and that part had better be very significant. My heart is still racing 15 minutes later.

I'm rapidly losing patience with this series tbh, there does seem to be any plot and too many threads and characters have been introduced. I loved the first series.
