I had a little blub also! Still can't get round any artistic licence that allows them to hand in their notice and leave on the same bloody day. Especially as the rest is true to life.

Except the no waiting times. Ever.

Oh, and the fact that anyone can have surgery at any given point as there is always a surgery/surgeon available.

Not forgetting that in house disciplinary action is hardly ever taken despite known bullying.

Aaaand that any old Tom, Dick or Harry can "scrub in" Grin

Despite my protests I do love it still!

Chipstick10 · 20/12/2017 10:40

And the doctors and nurses have time to chat and sort out all the patients personal problems

cafeaulaitpourvous · 20/12/2017 12:33

And the doctors manage the nursing staff and the ward...

Well unless it's all changed in the past 15 years the nurses were in charge!

QueenAmongstMen · 20/12/2017 15:15

Was I the only one who found the whole Diggers thing annoying?

Optimist1 · 20/12/2017 20:27

I wasn't that enamoured of it, Queen, much as I loved Diggers as a character. I suppose it gave Morven a reason to get on with her life, though.

I actually thought he came across as an obnoxious twat and nothing like his actual character when he was alive.

I'm also fascinated by all these doctors who can just walk out on a whim.... The Holby Writers are having a huge cull.

Does everyone else find it odd that Olly Valentine seems to have been completely forgotten about? I can't recall him even being mentioned in last night's episode?

MyOtherProfile · 20/12/2017 21:48

They just talked about Olly and how he isn't awake yet. I'm watching now on iPlayer.

SleepingStandingUp · 21/12/2017 00:35

Yeah Zosia called Dim for an update and he's not awake yet. Realistically he wouldn't be and there's only so much most of us can take of just staring at his face lol

I love the Arthur thing. Was nice to see someone have a happyish ending and yeah o assume they're leaving it open for her.

Also clocked the reference about Serena and Bernie being together - yay.

In worried about HH but thought Essie was nice to him after how Fletech was last week

MyOtherProfile · 21/12/2017 07:32

I'm worried about HH too. I want him to have a lovely happy storyline.

Dozer · 21/12/2017 08:50

How on earth did diggers appear from the dead?!

ISaySteadyOn · 21/12/2017 08:53

He was a hallucination of Morven's because she inhaled nitrous oxide by accident I think.

In other news Raf won Strictly. Smile

TheDrsDocMartens · 21/12/2017 09:32

Just caught up, don’t think Digby was that consistent with his character.
I think Jac and Fletch could work as he’s similar to Jonny.

Donna needs to disappear shesbad luck for Holby Hmm

StrugglingAlbion · 21/12/2017 09:34

Donna does my nut. Is that a common view?

SleepingStandingUp · 21/12/2017 10:09

He want pure Diggers though, he was a manifestation of her imagination so he was also part her subconscious hence all the no don't leave your family is here was her inner self but expressed through Arthur

HelloMist · 22/12/2017 22:29

Yes! There seems to have been a stream of characters leaving on the spot lately and it really annoys me. There needs to be a balance of realism and drama. Chipstick time to chat and frequently it's sensitive information or gossip in front of patients. Or they discuss patients in places that don't look out of earshot from other patients. And it can be a bit cheesy how staff talk to a patient about their problems but you can see how the advice is reflected in the doctor or nurse's own problems (and helps them see a way forward).

Haven't read quite all of upthread but I thought Jac's breakdown just before her shooting was very sudden/out of character and could have been foreshadowed more. I know she was meant to be affected by grief and under pressure but still.

I enjoy watching despite my moaning Grin

SleepingStandingUp · 22/12/2017 23:33

Its 📞 the sex in Grey's anatomy that gets me. Not sire how anyone ever gets treated
