Did everyone realise that his son in Holby is the real life son of the late actor Pete Postlethwaite?

Yes cos it's been mentioned 3 times now Grin

QueenAmongstMen · 09/12/2017 20:29

I actually watched the episode again last night on iPlayer. I've never done anything like that before but I just really wanted to see it again.

I preferred it the second time round because I could focus more on the storyline whereas the first time I watched it all I could think is "Who is it, who is it?"

I still think there should have been more deaths though.

Dozer · 09/12/2017 20:33

Lovely to see a smily HH on Strictly!

myusernameisnotmyusername · 09/12/2017 22:04

Wow what an episode. I really liked Raf but I didn't think him and Essie were very believable. Am I the only one who finds Oliver annoying? Great looking yes but annoying!

myusernameisnotmyusername · 09/12/2017 22:12

Oh and HH and Jac are my absolute favourite characters but I can't get my head around why Hanssen couldn't show his son affection.

QueenAmongstMen · 09/12/2017 22:49

but I can't get my head around why Hanssen couldn't show his son affection.

Maybe he had always sensed that his son was an evil psychopath? Grin

myusernameisnotmyusername · 09/12/2017 23:17

Hmm. Maybe or was he like that because his father didn't show him affection. Not that I know anything about psychopaths but I'm thinking you mustn't be right in the head in the first place. I knew there was something 'off' about him right from the beginning. Poor Henrik.

SleepingStandingUp · 09/12/2017 23:18

He didn't raise him did he? I suspect he had an emotionally cold childhood himself then just struggled to connect with a son he didn't know. And then Fredsick is so weird

secondhoneymoon · 09/12/2017 23:56

I don't think Hanssen had any contact with his son at all

MyOtherProfile · 10/12/2017 08:07

Did he know he had a son?

SoupDragon · 10/12/2017 08:12

I think he found out when Frederik was either getting married or becoming a father himself.

TheDrsDocMartens · 10/12/2017 11:17

Just caught up Shock they did the ‘Who is it ?’ Quite well Shock

ChoccyJules · 10/12/2017 11:50

Yes, I thought it was good how we were led to believe it was Jeremy for a while.
I too was surprised to find myself in the 'yum, Frederick' camp when he arrived on Keller Blush

SleepingStandingUp · 10/12/2017 11:58

You gotta feel for Dom. Oh no is it Isaac? No its someone ELSE who wants you dead. He really mist have been hoping it was Jeremy

myusernameisnotmyusername · 10/12/2017 19:17

Yes sleepingstandingup I also think he had a cold childhood. I think he is really caring though he just finds it difficult to show it.

SleepingStandingUp · 10/12/2017 21:23

Yeah he is paternal to his F1's etc. . he clearly loved Arthur, he looks after Dom. But because he can put a label on it - as Director - I think it frees him up so to speak

burblish · 10/12/2017 23:30

I can’t stand Essie as a character but the phone and breakdown scenes were done perfectly by the actress who played her. Poor Raf - but a character who hasn’t had a decent storyline in yonks (I don’t count anything with Essie as a decent storyline!), so I wasn’t surprised that he was killed off. Oli, though - I definitely didn’t see that one coming.

QueenAmongstMen · 11/12/2017 02:54

They can't kill Ollie off - the producers must knoe how much of a hit he is with the female viewers...

.....but at the same time, how can he recover from such horrific injuries?

I can't wait for Tuesday's episode!!

TheDrsDocMartens · 11/12/2017 07:40

How was Sasha the most senior person on site?
Why did Raf not have an obstetrician with the woman?
Why am I taking it seriously?

SoupDragon · 11/12/2017 07:58

Why did Raf not have an obstetrician with the woman?

That's easy - because Derwood has left. :o

That's why Sasha was the most senior person - Rik want there, Serena has left, Nina has left, that nasty man who attacked Zosia has died... there are only a dozen staff members after all.

MyOtherProfile · 11/12/2017 08:03

Perhaps they're hoping the new Dr will replace him as the eye candy. Not my cup of tea though.

SleepingStandingUp · 11/12/2017 08:46

Me neither, don't get the attraction. Maybe I'm too young haaha

SoupDragon · 11/12/2017 08:52

Wasn't Ollie dying when he came back into the series? Saved by an amazing heart implant thingy? That has not been mentioned since.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 11/12/2017 08:55

At the current rate of departures, soon Donna will be the most senior member of staff on site.

itwillbegrandsure · 12/12/2017 14:30

Oh my giddy aunt, I've only just caught up with Thursday's episodes and I'm an emotional wreck!!

Ollie can't die! Jac can't die! I can't believe Raf is gone!!

That was absolutely brilliant. But I'm in pieces!

Def think Essie will be pregnant.
Off to have a cuppa to calm down.
