They're framing it slightly differently now.. 😧 interesting from the bbc...

I was a Butlins baby, left in a chalet with a listening service! My DH was left in a hotel room in Spain while his parents were in the bar downstairs. It was quite normal. I have never done this but i have sat in the garden while they slept upstairs without a baby monitor.

Its strange how the 'facts' asserted by Alec just don't tally up with what TattiePants actually witnessed in person in the days following MM's disappearance......

NorthernLurker · 03/05/2017 22:53

Kate McCann's agony is written on her face. I have no idea what happened to Madeleine but the McCanns have and always have had my sympathy.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 03/05/2017 22:54

OuR lovely NDNs said they'd come round to ours for dinner and bring the baby monitor with them, as it would still work. I said no, we will come to you! This was last year. They are lovely parents by the way, they just don't see danger anywhere.

I felt sorry for the Portuguese people who were harassed.

They had been interviewed by police and not charged, then the BBC try to imply they might be guilty.

Also the whole burglary thing, so you break in to snatch some cash or a handbag, but decide to abduct a child instead.

If the kids woke up surely the burglars would just leg it as fast as possible to avoid getting caught.

I would love for this case to be solved one way or another so the family and residents of Luz get some peace.

I agree with the poster upthread who thinks that Maddie wandered off and there was an accident.

CherryMintVanilla · 03/05/2017 22:57

WannaBe They are Christians, so going to see the Pope would have felt like a productive move for them.

Maybe they stayed in the same resort because they were familiar with it, or even in the vain hope that being on the spot they might see something or hear something relevant?

And I googled that interview you mentioned. The exact quote from GMC is "It wouldn't be a one-year anniversary, it will be sooner than that." He was speaking in reference to Elton John highlighting Maddie's disappearance at his concerts, saying similar things might be good for reminding people she was still missing.

A lot of things can be twisted to sound sinister that just aren't when you look them up.

It might even be possible that Madeleine was hit by a car after wandering off and someone hid the body - this would be hauntingly similar to the fate of Ben Needham. :(

expatinscotland · 03/05/2017 23:01

These threads always veer off into nonsense. Sad

There wasn't one scrap of evidence to suggest an abduction
The only evidence is Madeline is missing. There is no evidence to suggest she wasn't abducted.

Viviennemary · 03/05/2017 23:05

I did watch it but it didn't say much of significance IMHO. I thought the questionning of these men was quite shameful. Hopefully the case will be solved sooner rather than later. But it doesn't seem very likely at the moment. Yet another new suspect according to the papers. A woman in a purple top acting suspiciously. You'd think somebody might have followed this up before ten years had passed.

Amperoblue · 03/05/2017 23:06

She had a star chart at home because she was a light sleeper. why wouldn't your first thought be that she was wandering round the resort somewhere.

PacificDogwod · 03/05/2017 23:07

Personally, I know of evidence that proves she was abducted by aliens

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 03/05/2017 23:09

Well you can't leave it there and then just bugger off to bed, Pacific.

myshinynewusername · 03/05/2017 23:09

However Madeleine left that apartment (whether by herself or removed by somebody else), it happened without anyone seeing it.

That leaves most scenarios open imo.

floatingfrog · 03/05/2017 23:11

If the group had been leaving the children every evening it wouldn't take long for one of the staff at the Club to notice this pattern. It seems Panarama wanted to follow this lead with the man that checked them into the apartment. As I said earlier it is unlikely that someone acted alone and moveover that someone else doesn't know who was involved if it is an abduction. Panarama seemed to try an hint at the Club Manager knowing the coast and surrounding areas in depth.

Well if you believe it Unicorn. Don't know why it's even being investigated in that case, they could have just asked you! Maybe you should give Scotland Yard a call and let them know

lazycrazyhazy · 03/05/2017 23:28

I'm with PPs not everyone shows emotion in public. Doctors are trained for 7 years and then further training for specialism. In that time they learn to hide their emotions. All this emoting in public is a relatively new phenomenal in this country. You can't judge people for being dignified.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 03/05/2017 23:29

Yes Unicorn get yourself to Scotland Yard asap and tell them you've solved it!
