They're framing it slightly differently now.. 😧 interesting from the bbc...

Well why not befriend some known shoplifters and burglars portia, you know, the ones who never seem to get caught. After all, innocent till proven guilty eh.Confused

PortiaCastis · 16/05/2017 18:20

Why not be sensible eh

songofthecuckoo · 16/05/2017 18:39

Well it's really not sensible to keep chanting "innocent till proven guilty" like it means anything.Im not talking specifically about the McCanns now but there's loads of people guilty of crimes walking the streets.Saying some of them are "innocent" just because nothing has been proven through lack of evidence just doesn't make them so.

PortiaCastis · 16/05/2017 18:49

The law is the law

Bambambini · 16/05/2017 18:56

I can't understand folk who don't understand that keep rehashing this, inferring the parents are guilty (even if you have the right) - going over every detail, every theory as though it's entertainment or some movie plot - is adding to the grief these folk are dealing with.

I can only think you are either too stupid to realise this or you know exactly what you are doing and are using it to make sure the parents continue to suffer as you think they should be suffering.?

songofthecuckoo · 16/05/2017 19:46

Portia you really are sounding very childish, did you mean to? but never mind, i'm leaving this thread before i go insane. Knew i shouldn't have come on, but some of the nonsense on here, Hmm i couldn't help it. Byee

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 16/05/2017 19:53

Someone's already referred to Dunning-Kruger on this thread, right?

PortiaCastis · 16/05/2017 19:53

Don't think it is I who is childish actually.
I only stated the law of the land.

songofthecuckoo · 16/05/2017 19:55

Just one more thing, "going over every detail, every theory as though it's entertainment" Bambam I suppose doesn't apply to the pro Mccanns does it. I mean why click on the thread if you weren't doing exactly that. Sheer hypocrisy. Anyway i'm out of here.

ShoesHaveSouls · 16/05/2017 20:01

You're just another ghoul, songofthecuckoo - there's interest in the case of missing child, and then there's ghoulishly picking apart the parent's behaviour and trying to make out "they're guilty" - which you have - based on no evidence at all. It's pure spite, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

The Amaral theory is completely insane, and based on PJ's misinterpretation of DNA forensics - done by the UK - very early on in the enquiry. Amaral's book has about as much basis in reality as the Chemtrail conspiracy theory.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/may/02/sandy-hook-school-hoax-massacre-conspiracists-victim-father
^ conspiracy theorists at their very worst. Hard for me to understand.
This thread is now done. I would suggest that future discussion is kept to the crime section then people can hide the topic. I believe part of the McCann interest was down to Carter Ruck being very good at their job. I hate censorship but at the same time hate people being triggered.

nauticant · 16/05/2017 21:11

It's the bold bit. They're doing it because they derive some righteous pleasure from doing a modern day "BURN THE WITCH".

nauticant · 16/05/2017 21:14

Oh, I've just seen you mention the Sandy Hook conspiracy theorists GinSwigmore. This was on Radio 4 last month. It is jaw-dropping, illuminating, and very depressing:

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08ll1q0

Also very relevant to this discussion.

MissShittyBennet · 16/05/2017 21:30

Yes that's me rafals. There's not much more to be said, but I'll just quickly point out that telling people not to be moronic ghouls isn't hypocritical when you're not being one yourself.

And if it does turn out the parents were responsible, the people doing the burn the witch routine would be right in spite of their level of understanding and their poring over of the PJ files, not because of it.

Blimey. That's spamlicious.

SeasideSinger · 16/05/2017 21:41

I've read all of this thread and am shocked at the insults and hostility to anyone who doesn't believe that Maddie was abducted.

There was no evidence of an abduction at all, so I can't understand why people are so believing of what they are being led to believe. There are more holes in this sad, sorry mess than in a Swiss Cheese. Nobody knows what really happened to Madeline and until we do (if we ever do) we owe it to Maddie to keep our minds open.

MissShittyBennet · 16/05/2017 21:46

I'm shocked you're interpreting it as hostility towards anyone who didn't believe she was abducted, rather than towards arm chair experts and arrogant bullshitters. I neither believe nor disbelieve she was abducted, I've no idea, yet I've managed not to delude myself that I'm a trauma expert or that the PJ will derive any benefit from my witterings along the way.

It's fine to not believe the abduction claim, in the absence of any other evidence. It's all the other stuff people insist on throwing in.

Also, her name wasn't Maddie. That's not what they called her. Respect would be getting that right, for a start.

GinSwigmore · 16/05/2017 21:46

Madeleine
Not Maddie
Is user whatsisface spamming everywhere tonight or just threads I'm on?

dingit · 16/05/2017 21:46

Most sensible post on the thread.

TheFirstMrsDV · 16/05/2017 21:47

we owe it to Maddie to keep our minds open
We do not owe 'Maddie' anything.
She is not ours and her name is Madeline.
She is not public property.

dingit · 16/05/2017 21:47

That was to seaside

nauticant · 16/05/2017 21:49

I've read all of this thread and am shocked at the insults and hostility to anyone who doesn't believe that Maddie was abducted.

You've misunderstood but that doesn't surprise me. It isn't about being on one side or the other, one doesn't need to choose a side. Because none of us know either way.

It's about having compassion for a couple of people who now will spend the whole of their lives in a waking nightmare. There is no way I'm going to try to add to their misery.

MissShittyBennet · 16/05/2017 21:52

Imagine pontificating about respect then not bothering to get the right name.
