I got 19 out of 20. I got the question about Kate;s undercover names wrong

EllaHen · 29/04/2017 22:13

I'm late to the party as I've been on holiday. Just wanted to say that episodes 1-3 had me exclaiming 'Ted - you're better than this!' numerous times. Episode 4 revealed that of course his un-pc comments were a plot device.

Let Ted be Ted.

NorfolksGiven · 29/04/2017 22:20

I got 17 Hmm Kate's name, Steve's curry and the previous Mike Dryden actor! The shame of it!

Ted's quotes made me laugh.

Now we're sucking on diesel!

NorfolksGiven · 29/04/2017 22:21

This time tommorow it will all be over Sad

ButtonMooooon · 29/04/2017 22:24

Norfolks I seriously hope we're all on here saying what an amazing season finale it was and not saying but what about X,Y,Z as we were after The Replacement and Broadchurch!!!!

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 29/04/2017 22:39

I'm laying odds that we'all be saying "only three hundred odd sleeps til Season 5!"

NorfolksGiven · 29/04/2017 23:38

Begs for a xmas special Grin

Marmalade85 · 30/04/2017 00:04

Just sat and watched all of series one again tonight in preparation for tomorrow. No series 3 available on Netflix annoyingly.

OutToGetYou · 30/04/2017 00:05

Urgh, 14/20! My excuse is that I should be in bed by now and I've been doing numbers all day!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/04/2017 00:05

God, a Christmas special would be more bleak than the festive Eastenders! 😂

OutToGetYou · 30/04/2017 00:06

S3 is on YouTube, ep 1:

KenDoddsDadsDog · 30/04/2017 07:07

IT IS TODAY wee fellas.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 30/04/2017 07:29

Loved the quiz. I knew the Dryden actor one - but I got Ted's quote wrong : I attributed the Hilton one to him . Hangs head in shame. And got Kate's surnames wrong. Perhaps she is better at undercover than we thought!

I did, however, know what Steve's choice of curry was.

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 30/04/2017 08:12

Aaaargh! Urgently need your advice, oh fellow LOD obsessives.

Moral dilemma:

7am voicemail left by relatives emotionally blackmailing us asking if they can break 4hr journey from airport, with an hour or so at ours.

AT BLOODY 8.30ish TONIGHT!!

Do we

(a) Laughingly question why any sane person is doing anything tonight between 9 and 10pm? Fake delighted surprise at impromptu visit, make them welcome, try hard not to button them into their coats at 8.59pm, and resign ourselves to iPlayering at 10pm Angry Sad

Thereby missing the 'live' transmission excitement/ communal watching with you crazy folk and immediate MN thread post-mortem. (For us, an equally brilliant part of the experience).

Or

(b) Act like selfish arses, make up some excuse as to why we can't extend 5 star hospitality (well, at least coffee and use of a loo!), feel guilty, and that we are Bad Human Beings...but hooray, hurrah, get to watch LOD finale Smile

They aren't exactly a barrel of laughs...pretty humourless types who wouldn't remotely understand why we'd need to sit in silence, fixated by a (to them) mindless tv show.
Guarantee she'd witter continuously throughout it, and he'd pontificate about it dumbing down the police (a son in Thames Valley Police!).

On the other hand, they're generous to a fault, and we've pit-stopped at theirs at least twice before.
I'm reluctantly thinking (a); DP says sod that, we'll invite them another time soon, and that nothing except natural disaster or ambulance requirement is moving him from LOD finale...

Help. We've got to let them know by 10am.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 30/04/2017 08:19

Oh God Marilyn, that's the worst dilemma I have ever read on MN!!

I myself will doubtless be watching on catch up as DH always feels the need to watch Barcelona or some such shite high quality football match first. So, if it makes you feel better we can be in the same LoD time zone?

I can't look at this thread while watching anyway as I have to concentrate so bloody hard.

You will not be able to watch it with wittering relatives, and I worry you will ruin family relations for ever by shouting at murdering one of them.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 30/04/2017 08:25

No dilemma here. Awfully sorry, we have previous plans, if only we'd known in advance.

They wouldn't find you out would they?

AliCat36 · 30/04/2017 08:33

Marilyn - maybe they are LOD viewers & they're desperate to see it so hoping you won't mind them stopping off at yours for an hour to watch??

Butterymuffin · 30/04/2017 08:59

'How annoying, we've got something booked for tonight!' Wink

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 30/04/2017 09:03

Oh Marilyn you poor thing. Such a terrible shame that you've all contracted scarlet fever and had to go into quarantine.

I assume you're going to suck it up, shove them out of the door as soon as reasonably decent and then start watching. On the plus side a) tomorrow's not a school day so if you finish watching at 11 it's not the end of the world b) PVRs will let you pause and catch up from the middle so you won't have to wait until 10pm to start watching like you would if it was a video recorder (unless you're relying on iplayer? But even then I think you can start "watching" live on iPlayer and then pause) c) if they have a two hour drive to go they wont be anxious to hang around for ages.

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 30/04/2017 09:05

Currently curled up on the sofa under a duvet watching series 1 and hemming trousers. Bracing myself for Steve vs the bolt cutters:

Ollycat · 30/04/2017 09:11

Poor Steve and the bolt cutters!!

Have a dilemma- advice needed!!

Have binge watched S 1 & 2 - Lindsay Denton - how horrible is she!! Have got S3 here on DVD (why isn't it on Netflix??) - unlikely to get to watch all 6 hours before S4 finale tonight!

Do I record tonight and watch S3 first? Or shall I watch tonight and then backfill (obv know fair amount of S3 spoilers)

Ferrisday · 30/04/2017 09:21

I have similar dilemma
My mum is here
She actually watches it, but I don't think I can bear watching it with someone else.
She will ask questions!

Watch s3 ollycat !

NoWordForFluffy · 30/04/2017 09:26

Less than 12 hours, people!

Ollycat · 30/04/2017 09:26

I think I'm going to start it - DH away, Ds out and dd asleep - don't know if I can cope with not watching tonight at 9 though - why oh why didn't I do the catch up weeks ago!!

ActuallyThatsSUPREMECommander · 30/04/2017 09:38

I think if you've already watched episodes 1-5 of series 4 then you have been comprehensively spoiled for season 3. The tension of Dot vs Steve is not really going to have you biting your nails in anticipation because you know which of the two end up alive:dead:banged up:promoted.
