comedaygoday

I love your idea that Jodie is Roz's minder to make sure she complies with blackmail. Having to put up with Jodie is definitely one of the seven circles of hell!

Talks of how Ted's history will be explored in the next series.

TheHiphopopotamus · 26/04/2017 16:34

I don't think Roz has intentionally framed Farmer. I think someone has framed Farmer to take the heat off them, but not Roz. I think she was just under pressure to get a result (i.e Hilton saying well done etc), so initially ignored any evidence suggesting it might not be him.

Arcadia · 26/04/2017 16:48

Radio 4 now

CraicMammy · 26/04/2017 16:48

Ted had better make it! I was a bit worried when he was interviewing Roz, he looked so stressed, I thought he might have a heart attack!

WingMirrorSpider · 26/04/2017 17:00

I can't remember Roz's kids. Are they two girls? If so is there any chance they're Tony's kids from s1?

ktel1 · 26/04/2017 17:03

Nothing new in that Radio 4 interview.

He's been interviewed a lot recently and I was thinking how patient he is answering the same questions time and time again. He manages to reword his responses a little each time .

I cam across this video on youtube from 2014 from the Edinburgh Intl Film festival which I found interesting.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 26/04/2017 17:07

Wing, I asked that question. They're a boy and a girl, apparently - so not Tony's.

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 26/04/2017 17:10

Calling all tech-literate folks:

Could someone clever post a side-by-side comparison of the close-up shot of post-it on which JnotJ wrote his new password (fridge scene), and the close-up shot of post-it Maneet used when logging on (illicit computer hack scene)?

Am 99.9% sure THE HANDWRITING'S DIFFERENT, which would imply that JnotJ hadn't intentionally let Maneet have access to it (neither by openly giving it to her for some reason that my brain's too frazzled to work out, nor by 'accidentally' exposing opportunity for her to look [for his possible-undercover-plant-in-AC12 purposes, to be revealed on Sunday?] ; more that she'd memorised it (over shoulder), and written it down herself on post-it no2.

My screen resolution's having a tantrum...need everyone's eagle eyes to agree/ disagree. Ignore if totally irrelevant to our latest plot development theories (am still catching up from page 17 on here!).

Thanking you muchly Smile

😂

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 26/04/2017 18:01

Here we are, the post it as Jamie writes it and the one Maneet places down on the desk when she logs in. Also the look on Maneet's face as Jamie's writing it down.

It's not the same note, but that could simply be a continuity issue? It is very similar.

Yes I was just looking at the 2 post its and they're definitely different.

She was looking over his shoulder when he wrote it down he didn't give it to her

wowfudge · 26/04/2017 18:30

Just on Louise Woodward - her conviction was reduced to involuntary manslaughter. She didn't complete her training contract after graduating and law school and doesn't work in law anymore.

Ferrisday · 26/04/2017 18:47

Rewatched series 1
Hilton suggested Dot sit the inspectors exam and Buckells makes a comment to Dot like "won't be calling me sir for much longer, congratulations"
Does that mean Hilton promoted him?

ButtonMooooon · 26/04/2017 19:06

Look how far away she is though, has she got X-ray vision?!

ktel1 · 26/04/2017 19:07

I'm not sure how the promotion process works exactly.

Maybe someone else here is familiar with it?

It looks as though a senior officer needs to recommend a candidate first-which would be Hilton.

I don't know if that mean that Hilton promoted him or if there is a later step where someone else did that.

With Kate and Steve they are both DS . I think they both passed their inspectors exam (presumably suggested by Ted) but at this stage only Steve has been promoted.

Perhaps Kate would need to move departments now to be an inspector , would that new department head be considered the person who promotes her?

I've been spending far too much time trying to understand the departments, ranks and promotion system within the police force lol

ktel1 · 26/04/2017 19:08

Button lol - she got closer to him after that, looking right over his shoulder

Ferrisday · 26/04/2017 19:23

Beans- series 1-who is Simon?!

NoWordForFluffy · 26/04/2017 19:27

This constant spelling of Jimmy's surname everytime Nick says it is really most odd. Just watching episode 5 again and he does it when he gets arrested!

I wonder if Dot was referring to an earlier promotion, not the recent one?

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 26/04/2017 19:34

Ferris - he is the ray of light in the darkness. A genuinely kind and caring copper . he gives his phone number to a little scrote and I so thought something would come of it and it didn't. So it just goes to show not all Mercurio's little details mean something.

Simon then wanders off saying hello to random vermin in the bog and I always expected him to turn up brutally murdered or something.

Simon is a counterpoint to a moaning, cynical (unfortunately female) jobsworth PC.

Arborea · 26/04/2017 19:39

I thought TO-20 stood for Tactical Operations. Is AC-9 definitely not an anti corruption unit? How do we know?

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 26/04/2017 19:40

Plot Twist:

The Huntleys' silent twins are, in fact, humanoid sleeper agents.

Placed with Roz for surveillance purposes, under guise of Protected Persons.

They communicate only by gadgetry, hence silent.
(Plus wily way around child actor regulations)

They require no emotional warmth or human interaction, therefore well-suited to career driven obsessive.
(Nightly charging themselves on docking stations replaces need for bedtime hugs).

Nick's concern for their welfare was merely due to apparent circuitry malfunction (i.e. non-android desire for pizza, and leaving random "someone is watching you" messages for shits and giggles).

They will be 'activated' next episode by coded message.
From whom, though, and to what ends? Hmm... Hmm

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 26/04/2017 19:40

Enrique,

Thanks so much for posting the pics!

Button,

Oh blimey, hadn't noticed that Grin

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 26/04/2017 19:44

Marilyn all these pages and pages of posts and finally someone has got the most feasible outcome. Well done!

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 26/04/2017 19:45

AC9 is anti-corruption. Surely Witness Protection comes under the broad anti corruption remit..

And thank you so much arborea for telling me what TO stands for!! All these years!!
