Hope OP of Thread 1, southeastdweller, doesn't mind me starting this, but MNers are enjoying it too much to abandon the analysis just yet Wink

On you go, people...

I'm thankful I only wasted three hours of my life on this.

After I watched the last episode of Lost, I felt cheated beyond belief...still angry now 😱😂

MrsJayy · 15/03/2017 22:15

I can't talk about Lost it just upsets me to much Grin

DesertSky · 15/03/2017 22:16

wineusuallyhelps That's brought back memories re Lost and the months (even years possibly?!) I spent devoted to watching it. Again another ludicrous far-fetched ending. Soooo frustrating when these things start off SO good and reel you in from the get-go. I feel your fury Angry Grrrrrr! Grin

PacificDogwod · 15/03/2017 22:18

Ha! I never got sucked in to Lost
I feel so much better now Grin

MrsJayy · 15/03/2017 22:29

4 years of my life i wasted FOUR Angry

wineusuallyhelps · 15/03/2017 22:30

Ha!! I watched Every. Fucking. Episode.

Feel like a right twat to this day...

KenDoddsDadsDog · 15/03/2017 22:38

I'm pissed off with the ending . There was a whole episode missing !
How did they know to arrest her at the end ? Was the baby Dougrays ?

Shitalopram · 15/03/2017 22:48

Who puts a baby in a Moses basket outside the kitchen window?!?

I thought the fall down the stairs was hilarious

soupmaker · 15/03/2017 22:54

Lila Come visit Glasgow, it's brilliant. Edinburgh is more beautiful but Glasgow's architecture is much more interesting IMO.

Agent I used to hangout in the Woodlands Sainsbury's when I worked at Charing Cross! It was the smell of petrol I liked most.

I live near Bellahouston Park, don't think it featured. Was it Linn Park?

TheHiphopopotamus · 15/03/2017 23:04

This happens with loads of tv drama though, Doctor Foster, Apple Tree Yard, both had better story line theories here than what actually happened

This seems to happen a lot in the age of the Internet. I really should stop looking at speculation on line. Either that, or some of the Internet speculators should become scriptwriters.

They made Ellen too unlikeable, I think. I was kind of hoping that Paula would kill her off and take her place (or at least something less ridiculous/better that what actually happened).

Shame about the last ep as the first two were so good.

museumum (and anyone else wanting fashion detail from The Replacement),

This MN thread tracks down most of Ellen's outfits...amazingly, The Replacement's actual costume designer (Jo Slater) randomly pops up to settle a few arguments over certain key pieces!!

This "Telegraph Fashion" article's also an interesting read. Both Ellen's and Paula's wardrobes covered.

Seems the fashion was spot-on, even if the plot was far from...

I'm not entirely sure why they took Paula all the way to the library to arrest her in front of Ellen.

NotYoda · 16/03/2017 05:56

Agreeing heartily with everyone. In the end it just felt horribly sexist

Did love the clothes, though.

Made me never ever want to work in an office with glass doors.

TheLegendOfBeans · 16/03/2017 06:00

They made Ellen too unlikeable, I think

Interesting point. I thought I was irrationally prejudiced against the actress as I thought she was completely unlikeable in this and A Word.

But the character was unlikeable.

NotYoda · 16/03/2017 06:05

Hmm, I found her flawed and sometimes horrible in the A word (realistically so) but not unlikeable in this. She was having wobbles about being pregnant, not about having a baby (IMO). Suddenly standing out for something other than her work at work, having people touching her. I remember feeling vulnerable when I was pg with my first because no-one around me had had children.

Both great actors in this

picklemepopcorn · 16/03/2017 06:23

So a day after I watched it I can't remember why the police got interested in Paula again. I know the boss 'looked' at her more carefully, so she ran and kidnapped the baby, but why did they investigate her again?

Honeyandfizz · 16/03/2017 06:35

I have lost 3 hours of my life I will never get back. Absolutely crap. I thought (rather foolishly) the last episode would tie it all together but no just more weird ridiculous story lines. It was dire!

picklemepopcorn · 16/03/2017 06:41

The very loose straps on the car seat finished it for me. And Ellen has no self control. She allowed Paula to get to her, fell for every one of her tricks. Following her around the balcony for goodness sake!

And Paula's husband was useless. In fact, all the men were useless. Useless men, deluded and paranoid women. Lovely.

Delatron · 16/03/2017 07:14

The one good thing I am taking from this is that I would love to go to Glasgow..!

Imi22sleeping · 16/03/2017 07:45

Lila...
i have lives in gladgow in yhe past and mu sister lives there now i kept saying to my usband this makes gladgow look great and hia reponse was it must have been filmed in edinburgh!!
Glasgows amazing so lively and brillant athmosphere go at one!!

AgentCooper · 16/03/2017 07:50

soupmaker I love that wee Sainsbury's, got nicknames for all the staff Grin Did you ever visit Balti Club takeaway? I've given far, far too much money to that place...

TizzyDongue · 16/03/2017 08:44

Can't believe someone brought up the trauma of Lost!!!

Episode 1: fan theories re all dead and in purgatory - writers say 'no it isn't!!'

Final episode: fans: wtf!!!? "No it's no purgatory oh OK it is really, just were not admitting it. No reason for most of the weird stuff"

I'd buried it deep people!! Deep!! And you just dug it up Sad

picklemepopcorn · 16/03/2017 08:46

Anyone remember why the police suddenly cared about Paula? Having ignored all Ellen's concerns before?

RockyBird · 16/03/2017 08:55

I don't live in Glasgow but spend a lot of my free time there. Love the west end.
