Previous Homeland thread - new thread for the sake of inter-episode tidiness.

This could go either way, Zilphas -- either everyone ignores you and puts their fingers in their ears in case you contaminate them, or we fire leading questions at you, and you PM the people who get things right.

Like the way I know I'm right about Quinn dying while foiling an attack on the PM and Dar turning out to be small potatoes in the anti-PE faction? Max doesn't die, does he??? Grin

ninjapants · 10/04/2017 21:37

I also discovered that my magic tv box has Showtime on it, meaning I can watch the finale now I don't want it to be over yet so I haven't!

ZilphasHatpin · 10/04/2017 21:45

I will answer no questions! Grin I lalalalaed loudly while fumbling for the remote control to change the channel.

Yes RTE2 are showing the finale episode tomorrow night.

Buttercupsandaisies · 10/04/2017 23:12

Goodness what a finale!!

MamOfTwo · 10/04/2017 23:47

Just caught up on Sunday's episode - my heart was beating fast at certain points, that 'Homeland heartbeat' hasn't happened to me for a while! I also spent time try to decode TV Man's accent, just plain weird. And I am also calling Dar not making it to the next series as he sacrifices himself for Quinn.

PlectrumElectrum · 11/04/2017 00:41

Max has to live. We need more typing at keyboard scenes. And installing CCTV stuff. And sitting in vans watching screens.

I think Quinn has to die in a blaze of patriotic glory - they can't drag out his character beyond this series because it would make no sense & he's too hell bent on destruction while doing his duty. Brody's character went beyond what was feasible even though I still believe Brody will reappear at some point & I think Quinn needs to have a good death, complete with wobbly chins from both Carrie & Dar. And Dar's chin can wobble all the way to a maximum security facility.

St Saul needs to become essential to PE & get the top NSA job to keep him from cashing those diamonds in.

Cocolepew · 11/04/2017 08:12

I wish the bell would toll for Angry TV Man, that accent is doing my head in.
I can't see weasle boy surviving either.
I would just like to point out I knew someone was still in the house, the garage was booby trapped, I like a, cross body bag and I always wear soft soled shoes
I'm expecting to be recruited for the next series.

ZilphasHatpin · 11/04/2017 09:34

Grin coco but could you trust your mentor and father figure St Saul the good?

ZilphasHatpin · 11/04/2017 09:35

I wonder what Carrie keeps in her cross body bag. None of the others ever had one.

PlectrumElectrum · 11/04/2017 09:41

Maybe she has a mini folder of crazy, for those on the move moments of inspiration, tucked neatly into her bag. You never know when those moments will strike...

SymphonyofShadows · 11/04/2017 09:41
SoulAccount · 11/04/2017 09:46

In RL Carrie would have known there was someone in the house once she saw the alarm was not set.
AND she would have done some course in spitting out urgent messages to the Chief of Staff , like starting with 'assassination attempt in progress!'.

Coco: you have my vote but you may need to get your post deleted to ensure your cover is not blown.

WonderMike · 11/04/2017 09:50

What if Saul has masterminded all of this just to get Dar Adal out and get Saul back in charge of everything? Would that make him good or evil?

ZilphasHatpin · 11/04/2017 10:29

Hmm, that really depends on what he plans to do with his new powers wonder.

ZilphasHatpin · 11/04/2017 10:30

Actually no, killing sekou, Conlin, Astrid and almost killing Carrie would most certainly make him evil.

ginghamstarfish · 11/04/2017 12:13

Hi all - first post on here - I keep hoping the angry tv man's crappy accent is a plot point ... so he's only pretending to be a ranty nutjob and is in fact something else entirely. If that turns out not to be true then why on earth was he given this role? He's spoiled it a bit for me as it's so distracting.

ZilphasHatpin · 11/04/2017 12:15

Oooh! Good plot twist gingham!

Chavelita · 11/04/2017 13:02

People keep saying Angry Right-Wing TV Guy is based on a real right-wing TV nutcase whose name escapes me, but I can't believe anyone has an accent that sounds more distractingly slidy-around than Brad Pitt pretending to be an IRA man -- this guy sounds like 'American South via Australian surfer movies with occasional moments of at least three different English accents'...?

I do wish Carrie would buy herself some quieter shoes, especially as she's moved into skinnies rather than bootcuts this season. I like her blue 'awkward conversation with Saul on a bench' beanie.

I am inwardly sniggering at the various ruses the writers have had to come up with, having written in a baby for Carrie, to get said baby out of the way, so Carrie can rush around doing brave but unwise things in loud shoes. I imagine there's a specific writer whose task involves coming up with a series of helpful sisters/Earth Angels/highly committed nannies/traumatised veterans/tech geeks/foster carers to get Frannie out of the way. I imagine her or she got a raise when they had the brilliant idea of getting Dar Adal and social services to take her on for a bit.

Fiderer · 11/04/2017 13:46

O'Keefe was apparently based on InfoWars host Alex Jones.

Chavelita · 11/04/2017 14:33

And does he sound like an alien trying to do an Earthling accent he learned from DuoLingo? Grin

I17neednumbers · 11/04/2017 16:38

I think Carrie did realise something was odd once she discovered the alarm was off Saul - but she carried on clacking round the house regardless.

How did she realise there was a booby trap on the garage door just before they opened it? What thought processes does she go through?

PlectrumElectrum · 11/04/2017 16:53

Surely there would have been some sign of the booby trap on the inside of the garage doors - where they had already got access? That's why the garage door explosion makes no sense, especially given the number of agents swarming round the place. ''Tis a stoopid occurrence.

Lweji · 11/04/2017 19:53

O'Keefe was apparently based on InfoWars host Alex Jones.

It has to be. I don't know about Alex's accent. Can anyone check it?

Hassled · 11/04/2017 19:57

Alex Jones is a complete nutter. According to Wiki "He has accused the U.S. government of being involved in the Oklahoma City bombing, the September 11 attacks and the filming of fake Moon landings to hide NASA's secret technology."

One thing I was musing on today - Rupert Friend has been a damn fine actor in all this. In previous seasons he's done Angsty Hard Man well, but this season he's been fantastic.

Alex Jones is from Dallas. Angry TV Man sounds nothing like JR Ewing.
