Last thread is full. So a last thread to finish the series ...

OP posts:

That is a great idea, good luck to her with it.

ShelaghTurner · 29/03/2017 13:41

I've only just got round to booking the official Chatham Dockyard tour. A fellow obsessive friend has been and reported back that she knew way more than the tour guide did Grin so I wasn't going to bother but I gave in. Would definitely be interested in a walking tour, it's a great idea.

Don't know anything about Netflix btw. I'll have a dig around and see what I can find Smile

Dancergirl · 29/03/2017 19:54

OMG the Chatham Dockyard tour looks amazing, thanks shelagh I'm going to book before it sells out.

Dancergirl · 30/03/2017 13:40

I've booked the Chatham Dockyard tour for Bank Holiday Monday in August. So excited! Even dh said he was up for it. We might go a day or two before and make a weekend of it.

Watched the last episode of Series 4 last night, poor Trixie Sad She really does deserve some good luck.

ShelaghTurner · 30/03/2017 18:56

Yay! I'll report back, I'm going in June. Next Saturday I'm at the BFI for the Radio Times festival and the CTM talk so hopefully will get to meet some of the cast. (Have met a fair few of them, I am a true sad act! Blush) and a friend and I are going location hunting first. Really looking forward to it! There is no end to my sadness! Blush

ShelaghTurner · 30/03/2017 18:57

I wasn't too keen on Trixie in S4. She's improved since and I liked her before. And it's been confirmed that poor Sgt Noakes is officially leaving. He must be truly pissed off with Miranda Hart.

CoolCarrie · 30/03/2017 19:50

I don't blame him!

Dancergirl · 30/03/2017 20:14

The CTM talk sounds amazing shelagh I've never heard of this Radio Times festival. I've just looked it up and the talk is sold out Sad Do you think they might get any returned tickets? There's a Victoria Wood thing on too, sold out as well!

ShelaghTurner · 30/03/2017 20:25

It's unlikely tbh. They released a second lot of tickets and they sold out in minutes too. I missed the Victoria wood thing completely. I wanted to go to that too. Sad

I don't blame the actor either. He had a good job there till she screwed it up for him, knowingly or not.

Yes miaow my dd is watching as we speak! She's pretty much caught up anyway but my younger dd is only on Series 3 so she'll be delighted.

Series 5, where are you??

WitchSharkadder · 31/03/2017 20:38

Poor Sergeant Noakes, I'll miss him. Sad

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/03/2017 21:13

I am really not a fan of Miranda Hart after the way she messed about with CTM. I wasn't a fan of her "comedy" either.

ShelaghTurner · 31/03/2017 22:26

Me neither. Never thought she was funny at all. She wasn't too bad in the first series of CTM but after that she became a posh person caricature and the show started to become the Chummy show, meaning less time for other characters. I get the feeling she's supremely pissed off the CTM bosses and I'd be surprised if she got another chance. Not that I know anything! I just hope she doesn't get another chance. There's no real place for her there now anyway.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 31/03/2017 23:18

I think her "star" is fading now. She is a one-trick pony.

Dancergirl · 02/04/2017 10:57

shelagh - a couple of random questions for you:

What happened to Jane the really quiet midwife? She just seemed to disappear unless I missed something.

When did Patsy and Delia realise they had feelings for each other? One minute they were friends and the next it was obvious they were attracted to each other.

ShelaghTurner · 02/04/2017 11:43

Jane went off to train as a nurse. This wasn't mentioned here in the UK but we found that the New Zealand broadcast had some extra/extended scenes and it was in that. Jane was a brilliant character, was so sad she left.

I think the implication was that Patsy and Delia had known each other for a while - they both worked at the London. There was an ep where Patsy delivered a still born baby and she went to Delia's room in the nurses home for comfort and an stayed the night with her. It seemed to be a relationship that was already established.

Dancergirl · 02/04/2017 12:41

Thank you shelagh Smile

Dancergirl · 04/04/2017 14:28

Slight derail of thread but I managed to get tickets for the Victoria Wood event at the Radio Times festival on Saturday (huge fan of hers!) shelagh - there were still a few tickets available - be quick! It's on just after CTM.

They said they were selling standby tickets for sold out events so I may be lucky and get a ticket for CTM too. I'm not too hopeful but I'm going to get there early just in case.

ShelaghTurner · 04/04/2017 17:06

There's one ticket left for VW but it's a middle seat and I'm super claustrophobic!

You'll have to wave if you get in to CTM! I'll be the saddo hanging round the cast! Grin

Dancergirl · 08/04/2017 14:22

Got tickets for CTM Smile going with my middle dd, can't wait

ShelaghTurner · 08/04/2017 14:33

Hooray! I'm sitting here now looking at a huge screen wth Sister Julienne on it!

Dancergirl · 08/04/2017 16:11

I loved it! Were you the lady who asked the question about Shelaghs fertility? My dd asked the question about fictional v real characters.

ShelaghTurner · 08/04/2017 17:56

Yep!
Well done Dancersdd!

Dancergirl · 09/04/2017 21:44

My dd really made me laugh the other day. I was filling in an online form for her and there was a section about doctor's details. She said 'Patrick Turner'. I was so tempted to put that down Grin
