Will anyone here be watching?!

OP posts:
Elendon · 28/02/2017 08:52

And if I discovered a load of condoms in my husband's van, I would not be unreasonable to suspect something is amiss.

NormaSmuff · 28/02/2017 08:54

i dont think the police picked up the bag though. they wouldnt be wondering around in the dark alone.

NormaSmuff · 28/02/2017 08:55

i dont know why julie was sitting leaning against the radiator, although of course they did take her duvet, anyone else sad for her that they did that?
but i wouldnt feel comfortable with my back to the window.

Elendon · 28/02/2017 08:57

I suspect it's going to be a young girls being passed around for sex storyline. Trish discovered this, threatened to go to the police and was raped.

I'm thinking also that the blood on the stone will not be hers.

Elendon · 28/02/2017 09:01

Miller's reaction to her son is exactly what I would have done, especially when it came to her riposte to the teacher. Stay in charge at all times.

cowgirlsareforever · 28/02/2017 09:01

Very weird that there were 50 men at the party. I was expecting her to say 50: 50 men to women. Sarah Parrish didn't want to reveal that and looked more worried than concerned when she found out that Trish had been raped. Is this the reason Trish was so worried about reporting the offence?

AnyFucker · 28/02/2017 09:09

Is the next episode tonight or next week please?

CarrieBradshawsScrunchie · 28/02/2017 09:13

Yes, very strange that Cathy was so specific about the '50 men' - yes you'd say, 'I don't know, about half and half men and women'. Odd!

Optimist1 · 28/02/2017 09:26

AF - we have to wait till next week, unfortunately.

CarrieBradshawsScrunchie · 28/02/2017 09:27

Next episode is next week.

Optimist1 · 28/02/2017 09:28

I've been mulling over the 50 men thing, trying to think of a logical reason for the imbalance, and even if birthday woman was heavily into a male-dominated hobby, surely her hobby pals would bring their partners to the party making the split roughly 50:50. Very odd.

AnyFucker · 28/02/2017 09:54

Gah

NapQueen · 28/02/2017 09:58

When the friends couple said on the phone "I feel like its our fault"

You wouldnt say that if you just threw a random party with your nearest and dearest. They must be referencing either (1) sex being a known involvement (2) someone they know is a risk in attendance (3) one of them preplanned it or part pre planned it with someone.

countrygirl55 · 28/02/2017 10:02

Think I'm going to have to do my usual "watch once for drama and again for clues" trick!

Akire · 28/02/2017 10:08

I thought was natural thing to say in same way if someone had car accident on way to your party you feel even small bit responsible.

Cathy said friends then just invited anyone and given large gardens they would had no control so saying it's our fault would kind fit.

spiderlight · 28/02/2017 10:21

So glad Broadchurch is back. I didn't realise there was going to be a third series until someone mentioned it in passing yesterday, or I'd have missed it! Brilliant first episode, Olivia Coleman is just amazing. My in-laws live in Dorset and we go to West Bay with them quite a lot - have seen all the crew trucks etc. there a few times but never spotted anyone interesting!

The 50 men thing is definitely a bit odd. Cath's reaction wasn't quite right either - too flat.

CarrieBradshawsScrunchie · 28/02/2017 10:31

Absolutely. Her reaction was quite fake and I remarked to DH, 'bad acting', but maybe it wasn't...

NapQueen · 28/02/2017 10:50

Shes quite masculine looking and my first thought was "shes a man and no one knows" but then I suppose her husband would have to

NapQueen · 28/02/2017 10:50

Cath I meant.

Riversleep · 28/02/2017 10:56

The actress played a transexual women in Corrie, so I don't think they would go there again. I agree with everyone about the party. Very odd. Glad it's a proper mystery again. Although I am a bit bored of the Latimers now. I know what they are trying to do with showing the effect of crime years later but it's done already. And I keep expecting Rory the vicar to be dodgy too, as he just turns up to have conversations all the time!

eddiemairswife · 28/02/2017 11:14

I'm another one who thinks the party is a red herring. There's probably something dodgy about it, but unrelated to the rape.
When did David Tennant acquire a daughter?

Clawdy · 28/02/2017 11:19

It seemed odd that all the bedding they removed looked clean and unsoiled. But when Cath was found she was muddy and dirty, so it doesn't look as if she slept in that bed.

heateallthebuns · 28/02/2017 11:31

Yeah did she just lie on the bed for 3 days. Why didn't she have a shower? How did she end up in a completely different place to report rape? Why was her phone left at home? I think maybe she was actually abducted.

MusicToMyEars800 · 28/02/2017 11:39

can't wait for the next episode, they've managed to bring back the same suspense as the first series, so I'm not buying the husband with the condoms in the car, but he's definitely up to something.. David tenants daughter was mentioned in the first he spoke about her but said he didn't see her or something like that.

NapQueen · 28/02/2017 11:43

I love how many questions and queries theyve managed to generate in one hour.
