Will anyone here be watching?!

OP posts:
hollyisalovelyname · 27/02/2017 23:31

It was very good tonight.

HemanOrSheRa · 27/02/2017 23:32

I also exclaimed 50.

Thanks goose. I was sure that some of the landscape shots were local.

How is Lenny Henry's character going to fit into this?

heateallthebuns · 27/02/2017 23:32

The bag with the blue twine was from Lenny Henry's shop.

3catsandcounting · 27/02/2017 23:37

Did anyone notice when Trish's answering machine kicked in - it said "Trish and Leah" - who's Leah? (or did I miss something?)
(I had sub-titles on to keep the noise down, so spotted the name.)

cowgirlsareforever · 27/02/2017 23:38

Leah is Trish's daughter.

3catsandcounting · 27/02/2017 23:41

Ah, Cowgirls, I did miss something then.

🙄

Akire · 28/02/2017 00:14

Yes think she said was staying at her dads? Was photo on wall
But not close enough to see properly. Suspect alert!!

Graphista · 28/02/2017 00:17

I thought Leah was with friends in London.

I thought the 'there's nobody I can call' suggests it's someone she knows. Also the photos seem happy of her Leah and Leah's dad, perhaps dad died?

NormaSmuff · 28/02/2017 06:23

e njoyed this.
wondered if it was ex husband.
also the party had an over abundance of men surely?

rollonthesummer · 28/02/2017 07:08

I couldn't quite see at the end-was it a policeman who was patrolling the area at the end and picked up the bag of blue rope? Or was it not clear who it was?

OP posts:
cowgirlsareforever · 28/02/2017 07:10

We are not supposed to know who picked up the bag.

WigglyWooWorm · 28/02/2017 07:12

Nobody I van call - she didn't call the organisers of the party did she who presumably would be her friends. Did she have no friends authentic party at all...

Bestthingever · 28/02/2017 07:14

Great episode. It feels like series 1.

ExitPursuedBySpartacus · 28/02/2017 07:20

Sorry. Did someone say Brideshead had been remade?!?

Elendon · 28/02/2017 07:48

' Do you have any questions?'

'Do you believe me?'

So poignant. I think this is a great opener. The terror is palpable.

oklumberjack · 28/02/2017 07:52

I've watched all the Broadchurch series and I thought this was really good. Acting superb all round. Hardy and Miller are just so good together. Miller - "Ok. No need to be a twat about it" Grin

I too think the party was dodgy. I'm thinking some kind of organised bdsm sex party? That's why they are so worried about providing a guest list and why there were so many men. However I'm sure there will be lots of red herrings and twists and turns.

Very intriguing.

Alfieisnoisy · 28/02/2017 07:59

Oh my goodness that was an amazing watch last night.

OC and DT as excellent as always and just LOVED Julie Hesmondhalgh as Trisha, have always loved Julie as she is an amazing and criminally underused actress.

Thought the rape unit scenes were excellent and so well done. Did Dorset Police have a hand in advice? They were tweeting last night telling people who to contact if they had been affected by the issues raised.

IAmNotAUserNumber · 28/02/2017 08:02

Is DS living in Charlotte Rampling's house now?
It must be 4 years since Danny's murder. He was killed in the summer term of Y6, so would have been 11; and his friend OC's son is now 15 and it is again the summer term because Danny's sister is sitting exams. I think.

Alfieisnoisy · 28/02/2017 08:14

And no Nige....yet. Hope they use him again, I liked Nige. Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/02/2017 08:42

Agree was brilliant - I was another who couldn't stick with S2.

Julie H is a superb actress.

The person who picked up the bag at the end was wearing a hi-vis jacket with 'Police' written on the back - I rewound and watched again to be sure.

countrygirl55 · 28/02/2017 08:48

I am terrible at committing to watching telly and am usually reading/sewing at the same time but I couldn't take my eyes off of it. OC and JH in the first 15 mins were outstanding; how sensitive it was but glad they didn't gloss over the topic. Found it quite upsetting but it needed to be there. Went from that to laughing so loud at OC/DT bickering. Will be glued to this.

Also really looking forward to Prime Suspect 1973 on Thursday.

NormaSmuff · 28/02/2017 08:50

Loved Grumpy Lenny HEnry
and loved Olivia Coleman such a kind police officer to the victim.
love her attitude to her son

Elendon · 28/02/2017 08:50

Iamnot

The calendar in Trish's house said May, so yes, summer term.

What I thought was surprising was Cathy couldn't give a definite number of those who attended at the end but was sure there were about 50 men. So it would have been obvious at the party. Her husband did the invites.

NormaSmuff · 28/02/2017 08:51

think the party was a game party that went wrong.

Optimist1 · 28/02/2017 08:52

@heateallthebuns - glad I'm not the only one to have seen the figure in the hiviz jacket in her garden! That gate at the bottom obviously makes it accessible.

I'm hooked, and can't wait for next episode...
