Ahhhhhh, so if the boys had porn on their phones, the teacher found them, confiscated the phones, downloaded the images onto the laptop and then reported the boys to the Head teacher.

Hmm continuing from my theory of 2 being involved, maybe it's the ex husband and his new fling Sarah (is it?) We heard how she left the party early. She could have been hiding in the grounds somewhere. Trish said the voice sounded like Ian - he could've called her name and Sarah hit her over the head?

If the teacher downloaded the images/video, he wouldn't need cocky-rope-boy to take it off his computer.

PPs mentioned Cath's party appearing 'normal' in the flashback, regarding men/ women ratio, and even a child (children?) dancing. In ep 1, Dim Taxi Man also claimed to have driven Cath's Aunt and Grandmother (some older relatives, anyway...I'm a bit hazy on detail). All would reinforce our image of a nice, cosy, regular 50th birthday celebration.

But that doesn't necessarily rule out darker stuff (sharing of porn/ even amateur filming of) happening alongside, within such a huge house and grounds.

Perhaps kind of a Masons-type scenario, shrouded in secrecy, where being allowed levels of access and knowledge depends on how far you personally get involved, thus unable to whistleblow or incriminate others, if discovered?

Possibly the scriptwriters are hammering home the message that surface 'respectability', sexual violence and a hidden world of porn sharing (or swinging/ adultery, at the very least) can co-exist anywhere, even sleepy seaside towns?

Sidenote: Creepy Convicted Rapist was bloody foolish to intimidate DC Harford. Wouldn't that jeopardise his probation big time? Unless he has some sort of connection to her/ her Dad?

I'm not sure I actually care who did it anymore. It's all so dragged out and over acted. And all that 'dun dun dun' music whenever any remotely possible suspect is shown.

The music is very distracting. I cant hear them at the best of times as it is!

Was Beth Latimer raped? Or sexually assaulted? Did the guy ever get caught for that, as part of the show or was it just something in the past and talked about? Could it be him?

Why would Sarah have sent Beth a text saying 'shut your mouth' BEFORE she knew about the rape??

I thought she had been, it was referenced in one of the previous series which is why she has become the rape support worker?

I must have missed the thing but about Beth being raped. I don't remember that.

There is clearly more to the messages than we know yet. We also don't know that Sarah sent them. She could be covering for the ex.

I could be wrong. It might be her experience losing Danny that prompted her to be a support worker? I've just read a synopsis of series 2 and it doesn't mention it.

I had a recollection of rape (or more the mention of) in a previous series.

DH said he didn't recall: my memory isn't the most reliable so I could be thinking of a different programme - but now a few have mentioned it too.

I've concluded that Beth realised she couldn't work with paedophiles but could work with adult rape victims. I don't think it's been fully explained why she's doing this instead of what she originally set out to do in memory of Danny but I don't remember anyone saying she'd been raped.

Tizzy in season one Pauline Quirke threatened the newspaper editor with "I know men that would rape you"

I think Beth also said at one point that she'd be willing to be raped if it meant getting Danny back.

I am going out on a limb here, I am going to say Hardy is my prime suspect. It's the last of 3 seasons and needs to go out with a bang

Trish and Cath are lovers.
They're setting Jim up.
Trish slept with Jim so there'd be physical evidence that means he can't be ruled out as a suspect.
Cath essentially shopped him to the police last night.
Cath can't get out of the marriage voluntarily and be financially solvent (Or something like that - maybe higher stakes)

Event was videoed either:
A) As planned and in support of the set up.
B) Incidentally by others and distributed.

I'm leaning towards b as I think the video will be the key that exonerates Jim.

I think light was phone and it was 'cocky teenager' filming 'taxi driver's son teenager' raping Trish.

I don't think the rapes are connected. I think Creepy Convicted Rapist raped the new woman and someone Trish knows raped Trish.
