I've actually just Googled him and he does look white in his pics but I would have sworn he was at least part Asian until then. Maybe I need to adjust my tv He went to Eton!

I also, get muddled up between the too similar actors, and can't keep track of who works where or what their names are, even though the cast list is in the Radio Times. (there's an Alzheimers test in today's DM!!)

I keep thinking we'll find out that Joe Miller wasn't the murderer from the first series.
I think there was an improper relationship between him and Danny but he wasn't the killer. Mind you, Im never right about these things.

Did anyone else notice that when Sarah Parish greeted Trish at the party she did exactly the same run and squeal as when she greeted Debra Messing in the film The Wedding Date?!

Also, why didn't they quiz Trish more about the whole' sex with Jim' thing. It all seemed so random. Did she just call him up and say, 'hey, come over for sex?' Where was Cath at the time? How long had it been going on? Was there a possibility Trish told him it was the last time and he got angry? So many questions, and Miller and Hardy didn't ask any of them!

Trish is excellent. I honestly don't know if I can face similar levels of intense acting from the new victim. It's so harrowing.
I have no idea who is guilty. I think Lenny Henry has a major crush on Trish and either knows or has suspicions about her affair with Cath's DH. Hence why he's always chippy with him (because he's cheating on Cath and messing Trish about).
I wonder if Trish's ex's gf snogged/shagged the taxi driver after she went off in a huff and Trish saw them. Obviously whatever she was telling Trish to shut up about was so big that she assumed Trish would know what she meant without knowing who sent the message or having any other details.
I'm a bit disappointed that it seems to be moving towards a serial rapist storyline rather than a 'most rapes are carried out by someone you know' storyline.

i'm all caught up on it now, I have no idea who it is... trish said she saw a bright light I reckon it might be 2 people and someone filmed it maybe? miller said what if the light was closer than she thought.. I don't; know what is going on with hardy's daughter... still guessing here

Ah but serial rapist and known to victim rapist doesn't need to be mutually exclusive especially in a small community.

Finding I always thought Joe Miller wasn't the killer either. I think it's DTs daughter that's in the porn video.

Is there any mileage in how the various men view women/sex?

So, not Jim because he's assuming it's about sex and he can and has already shagged Trish.

Who feels powerless generally? Who needs to exert control? Who has low opinion of women?

And I think Horrible Rapies guy is a red herring.

Powerless? I'd say probably taxi guy.

Lenny Henry is protecting her because "Trish is..." who knows what?

I'd have said phone for the light but then Miller did suggest that and I don't think they'd spoon feed so much.

Don't they sometimes show false flashbacks in dramas where there are numerous possible scenarios?

I think that the outcome of Mark's meeting with Joe might shed some light on the rape.

I think as the new victim begins to talk there will be links and we'll learn it isn't stranger rape- there will be someone who is a key link between the two women, maybe an online date ( to me it seems weird that DT has been thrown into the dating scene in last night's episode. Seemed out of character and out of the plot, so must have been for a reason!)

With regards to Danny's murder Perhaps Joe miller's son was jealous of the relationship between Joe and Danny and took revenge?

I felt like last night's was a scene setter- no answers really, just lots of clues. Episode 5 will be a good one I reckon!

Do we wonder if there's any significance in Dim Taxi Man purposely not telling Quiet Curly Wife about stepson's school suspension for phone porn possession?

Could he (DTM) be involved in making or distributing it?

Sorry new to this thread but am loving the theories and had to chip in! I'm thinking DT's daughter has been having sex with the local boys and letting them film her? Which is why it's just gangs of boys coming to call for her. And that's the porn on OC's son's phone. And all the local kids know, including the Latimer girl. No idea how it's tied in to anything else though!

I think there was two people as well, not just the light but also she said someone in one direction called her name and then she was hit from the other side.

I think Lenny Henry is in love with Trish and that's why he fights with Jim.

The woman who went to the police station at the end said "OK Tony" on the phone before she did, who's Tony? I think she's a red herring, I think she's being blackmailed to make a report to distract the police.

Oh and I wonder if Joe Miller is living in the cottage near the big house, the one where they said no one was in and they couldn't contact the owner.

I'm so confused about it all that I've convinced myself to not rule David Tennant out! Now THAT would be a curveball!

I haven't read the whole thread, but I personally think the perpetrator for both Danny's killing and Trish's rape is Tom, Ellie Miller's son. His dad, Joe Miller, took the blame for Danny's murder to protect his son.

Mark Latimer will find Joe Miller and it will all come out. Tom is the rapist and filmed it, and other sexual assaults, on his mobile. He has probably got footage of Alec Hardy's daughter on it too

The rest of the "suspects" are all fluff and filling, although they are all part of a Broadchurch "swingers" society. Hence the party with 50 men and 20 women.

I do feel very sorry for Trish, but she is not painting herself in a good light at this time. Sleeping with her "best friends" husband

Oooh Bugly, I reckon you could be right. There's a reason they're still bringing the Lattimers into the story. That would tie it all up very nicely wouldn't it?! Poor Ellie if that is the case though!

I cant imagine that Trish's friend will be happy when she discovers they have been having an affair somehow, however 'loveless' the marriage is.She doesnt want him,but i bet she doesnt want someone else having him either.

That football match was beyond awkward - i have a hunch that lenny henry character also fancies Trish. Other than that, i am just as confused as ever - everyone is suspicious.
