Thanks Qwerty for the info and Rhu and Kazza for your musings. Doesn't look as if we'll have long to wait but I'm a bit surprised if it's so close that they haven't started doing trailers. Interesting storyline - am sure Elvis will have a starring role and will be demonstrating the green eyed monster. I hope CJ has a better role this time instead of general nursemaid etc.

As it all gets so close, I'm starting to get TG's storyline a little mixed up with all the great ff we've had. I wonder if TG will take up any of the themes already written about by our authors? There were definite references last time as I recall. I still laugh when I see Elvis' twirly finger in episode 2 as we all loved CJ's twirly finger.

Maybe CJ hasn't been promoted because of the wobble he had - whether to resign his commission or not. I agree though that we were given to believe he was almost on an accelerated promotion type route.

Rhu have to admit I often record SCD so that I can skip through the stupid bits. The Claudia and Tess double act stuff does wind me up quite a lot these days. I will try to join in but it may not be from the beginning as I'll probably be eating around 6.30. I need to work out who myself and my friend are going to bet on this year as well.

Afternoon. Been a busy sort of day so far but now finally back at home. Thanks for the link Qwerty. I couldn't open it as I'm not a facebook member, however, if it's the short video about "A Strong head to follow your heart" I managed to track it down elsewhere.

Well Ilove I will be on here and pass a few comments on SCD but I will try to restrain myself to one comment per contestant if I can. I have decided however that I am looking for the following:

1. The kids favourite in the mode of Jeremy Vine/Ed Balls
2. The Ringer - the one who clearly has tons of dance experience but says they've barely done anything for donkeys years.
3. The Cringeworthy one who makes you feel desperately embarrassed for them in their awkwardness.
4. The natural talent who doesn't have all the polish but shows flair.
5. The judges favourite - no explanations needed.
6. The Bambi - no explanations needed
7. The Gurner - there has to be someone with ridiculous facial expressions.
8. The one that Craig picks on because of their ''hands and fingers dah...ling"
9. The one most likely to be booted off first - probably because no one knows them and they haven't stood out for any of the above reasons.

10. The potential winner?

I hope that doesn't sound unkind but in most series people seem to fall into one of these categories and I'd be amazed if it doesn't happen again. Will be back at 6.25.

Ok good to see that Claudia hasn't confused us by wearing something other than black. Tess looks like a toddler dropped a pot of glitter over her.

Oti and Charlotte Hawkins look very elegantly dressed tonight. Not sure about Debbie McGee's platinum blonde look but I do think she'll be very good.

Tough dance to do first. I thought she did pretty well and has potential. She looked a bit serious in places but tried really hard.

Brian Conley - Tango. Stupid bit of film about laughter yoga - good grief. Ooh 'Temptation' like the song. The expression on his face is hilarious. Otherwise not bad, I thought. Bet Craig moans about his hands!

Alexandra Burke - Waltz. Oh my dog started twirling as well. He's easily excited by TV. She looks really good. I liked that a lot. Like Gorka too.

Oh dear as much as I liked her she looks like the crier of the series.

Hello, a bit late to the SCD party as I'm feeding my neighbour's cats and keeping an eye on my elderly next door neighbour as his memory seems to be going and he left his car door wide open.

Just waiting for Simon Rimmer now. I've eaten at his restaurant - lovely food!

Simon Rimmer - I don't know him. Paso Doble. He is awkward. That looked a bit like the time Anne Widecombe was dragged across the floor. A bit clumpy and steppy. Can't see him going very far but a good try.

Not a fan of the paso doble, no matter who performs it.

I like the new judge. She knows her stuff.

She reminds me partly of Arlene Phillips who used to be on Strictly and also Lesley Joseph (Dorian from Birds of a Feather).

Charlotte Hawkins - love her dress. Foxtrot. She looks nervous but Brendan is good.

I'd never heard of her before this. Brendan won the first series so he knows all the tricks.

Classic and elegant. I think she'll be a best at ballroom. Not sure about Latin. It might be awkward. She was good.

She definitely looked the part and even Craig was complimentary.
