It's gone very quiet on here again.

I think Prince Philip puts me to shame if he is eventually putting his feet up at 95 - he has a good 40 years on me!

What is everyone up to?

Nickel45 · 04/05/2017 21:03

I amazed he's done so well!

I'm packing for cub camp .... Sewing labels on everything. Do you think the squaddies have to label everything?! Littlie is staying for the first time and is so excited! Spending the day tomorrow putting up tents then spending the weekend cooking for up to 100 people. Let's hope the weather is good. Roll on putting my feet up Monday!

Ilovelblue · 04/05/2017 21:42

Are you doing all the cooking Nickel or have you managed to delegate?

Nickel45 · 04/05/2017 22:10

I'll delegate . . . Hopefully! You got any plans for the weekend, bet it's all like a weekend now! Brilliant!! 😀😀😀

Ilovelblue · 04/05/2017 22:54

It does feel like an extended holiday at the moment, yes.

It's peak gardening time just now and I do some pots and hanging baskets for others as well as myself so I'm busy with those and keeping the garden going. I'm test driving a new car next week and also a trip to Manchester to spend two lots of my leaving gift vouchers.

Richtea19 · 05/05/2017 07:10

Good luck with the camp nickel. My little one is doing his DoE bronze practice this weekend, one night away. It will suit him well as he never washes in normal circumstances!!

I'm envious of all your gardening ilove, I'm desperate to get in the garden but never seem to find the time, and it is so cold at the moment.

Ilovelblue · 05/05/2017 09:22

It's unusual that our weather is better than yours Rich. It's been around 19 degrees and sunny all week. The wind has been drying out all the small pots though and anything recently planted.

Rhubarb01 · 05/05/2017 19:18

Evening all! Not a lot to report at Lechley Park these days, I'm afraid, although I did manage a Rhubarb first by having a real life meet-up last weekend with BK and a chance to talk all things OG which was very nice.

Apart from that my chief occupation this evening has been advising DH on how to build our version of a Stalag Luft to keep our dog away from the fence where he has decided to bark manically at the dog next door with only a few inches of wood to separate him from the other dog's nose. He is pacing about the perimeter like Steve McQueen looking for a weak point at the moment - that's when a loud shout of 'sausages' hasn't distracted him and brought him in (he will forget about it all eventually). I can't put up with a summer of constant barking!

There is a bit of a sporty theme to this weekend as both DD's are engaged in competitions in two different sports which is nice but I don't enjoy the anxious parent bit it involves especially if it doesn't go well. I really don't enjoy the company of a couple of moody, disappointed teenagers on a long drive home. (I do find tea and cake somewhere helps a bit - who said there was anything wrong with comfort eating?)

Hope you all have a good weekend. I haven't checked the forecast but I find it so unreliable that I don't usually bother. A glance out the window in the morning is often good enough.

pixieg1rl · 05/05/2017 21:00

Your meet up sounds lovely Rhu.

Nothing doing here. Did the election couldn't last night so completely shattered today. I'm dreading the general election count; still the extra money will be nice.

Ilovelblue · 05/05/2017 21:46

Well done Rhu! Hope BK is doing well. I enjoyed her being CJ's driver when he did his UK tour.

My neck got burned in the sun this morning. An ex-colleague came round to do a plant swap and we sat in the garden. It's been windy all week so I didn't notice how hot the sun was so I now have a red stripe round the back of my neck - most attractive.

I went supermarket shopping this afternoon, got out of the car and realised I had left my bag and purse at home so had to do a 6 mile round trip to pick it up. Am losing the plot I think.

Did you take today off pixie or did you fall asleep at your desk?

pixieg1rl · 06/05/2017 11:30

Full day yesterday ilove. I was shattered but we've all had a good sleep in this morning which was very needed.

I could use your services, we've got so much gardening to do at the moment; taking most of April off is not a good idea.

Are you going to any shows this year? My friend and I are doing Hampton Court this year and the gardeners world thing at the NEC.

YorksOAP
Just read Aldridge army comments and was thinking exactly the same we need more photos please
Miserable cold day here typical weekend weather after a lovely sunny few days Definitely need more CJ/BA

Ilovelblue · 06/05/2017 22:52

I'll make you an offer pixie. I'm happy to come and get your garden into shape if you can ensure CJ will be on hand every evening to rub my back and ease my aching limbs. Deal? I'll do it for free!

Seriously, my friend and I are doing the RHS Tatton Show again as it's only 45 mins away. We keep saying we're going to do Chelsea but it does work out expensive as it's an overnight stay. Don't suppose I have the excuse of using up my holiday entitlement these days mind you. We're going to Prince Charles' gardens at Highgrove as well in August, en route back from France.

I had an interesting (if embarrassing) chat with my 80 year old neighbour this afternoon when he informed me he was feeling out of sorts. I asked why, as you do, to be told it was rather embarrassing. That's ok, I said, thinking it was probably of the prostate problem variety, there's no need to tell me but he insisted on telling me he'd been to see the doctor and he is now sterile!!! OMG, I wondered at first if he was thinking of fathering children (eeek) but suspect he really means he is suffering with erectile dysfunction...... didn't feel the need to enquire further however! What a conversation to have! The man has no social etiquette filter at all.

icemist · 07/05/2017 18:29

Castvate moving onto South Africa now
Smile

Nickel45 · 07/05/2017 19:12

Looks like Nepal is done and dusted! Wonder if we'll see any familiar sights from before (or BS42). Finishing in Malysia, it seems!

pixieg1rl · 07/05/2017 21:56

Glad to see you survived scouts nickel. A bit bloody cold for camping this weekend. Did you keep warm cooking bacon?

Nickel45 · 07/05/2017 22:44

It was freezing! Slept in tshirt, pjs, jumper, in a sleeping bag, blanket and coat on top and still cold! Back home now and fell asleep putting kids to bed at 8!!!! Don't think anyone told the weather it was supposed to be May!

Ilovelblue · 07/05/2017 23:09

Curious to see how the new series works out (unless it is being filmed out of sequence - any ideas anyone?) The landscape in Nepal and Malaysia must be very different to South Africa, unless the storyline covers two different continents maybe?

It's been really pleasant weather-wise here for over a week now. At least 18 degrees today and bright blue skies. The wind has dropped too.

Ilovelblue · 07/05/2017 23:10

Just read your post Nickel. So unusual for the north west to have the best of the weather! I am sunburned.

Ilovelblue · 09/05/2017 09:16

Have we any more OG news? MK popped up on my Google newsfeed earlier with a photo of her in Kathmandu but no actual OG stuff other than them moving on to South Africa.

icemist · 09/05/2017 10:23

MK back to uk for few days. Rest on way to SA.

pixieg1rl · 09/05/2017 16:24

I see from Instagram that Si Lennon and Sean Ward have got to Cape Town. It looks gorgeous and sunny.

Ilovelblue · 09/05/2017 17:38

It's sunny in Lancashire pixie and you still haven't said you'll get CJ for me if I come to do up your garden....??

Bet it's nicer i South Africa though

kazzaD66 · 09/05/2017 18:44

What instagram are you looking at pix ? I'm looking at seanjward and silennon and the last photos on both that I can see are Nepal. Is there a secret squirrel account somewhere or am I missing something don't answer that Confused
