Time for a new thread.

Last night's was the first time in ages I have actually enjoyed watching Corrie. What a difference a good plot twist can make!

Whilst we all recover from the shock of a plot not being immediately obvious from a mile away, just a reminder to everyone on the thread...however obvious a spoiler may seem to you, however many magazines it has been on the cover of, we don't talk about it on here. We are spoiler free.

Yeah the men never really get successful do they? Lots of the women have successful post Corrie careers. Well a few of them anyway!

Mexxi · 01/06/2017 09:27

Ex Corrie women have done well, I agree, apart from the ones who keep coming back. I really, really hope Janice doesn't rear her ugly head. I don't think I could cope with that.

Run4Fun · 01/06/2017 10:33

Sorry Corporal I have reported and asked for my post to be deleted.

Wh0Kn0wsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/06/2017 12:07

I've just seen that Roy Barraclough (Alec Gilroy) has died, he was one of my all time favourite characters Sad

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 01/06/2017 13:12

No worries Run I don't mind spoilers but some on the thread avoid them Smile

ellenanora5 · 01/06/2017 13:28

We think it's bad acting now, wait till David finds out it was Shonas son who killed Kylie, the over acting and over reacting will be painful, especially when he finds out Gail knew all along.

Nick could always go back to casualty, or was it Holby, I don't really watch them so don't mind if he turns up there, but in saying that I do feel sorry for him, he was right in saying he's a better father than Peter ever was and has always been good to Simon, I think Simon even prefers him over Peter.

It's time for Leanne to leave and go look after Janice or Les or Stella.

I used to love Alec, him and Bet were a great team, sad to hear he has passed away.

There's a thread here which used to be a bit more lively with spoilers: Corrie Thread - This time with spoilers

Some I like to know - I saw the interview with "Nick" which explains his storyline and know bits about Bethany. But, the return of Denise I'm glad surprised me!

JeanSeberg · 01/06/2017 13:33

Anyone else the recognise the scenes with Nick in the sinking sand as Arnside? Where were they supposed to have gone for their day out?

ProfYaffle · 01/06/2017 15:36

Yes, I was quite proud to have recognised Arnside despite it being years ago that we visited. We saw a rl 'Nick' situation, a girl had slipped and broken her leg on the beach and the tide was coming in. She was fine in the end. No Pob bubbles.

Seniorcitizen1 · 01/06/2017 16:26

The scenes on the beach and outside the cafe were St Anne's as in Lytham-St Annes. Didn't recognise the quick sand place

Namechangecentralstation · 01/06/2017 16:40

Re Nick not drowning, can anyone remember a similar scene in Neighbours? Could have been Home and Away I guess - it's been driving me mad trying to remember it, I'm sure the victim went under the water with just a tube sticking up above the water to breathe?

user1491401693 · 01/06/2017 21:31

Three!!!

honeyroar · 01/06/2017 21:36

Horrible tonight with the Bethany story. 😦 I've got to go to bed early tomorrow and will miss all the climaxes.

ellenanora5 · 01/06/2017 21:54

Oh Jesus when I saw the three men going into the room I felt sick, this is awful, poor Bethany, and then it made me think of the girls this is happening to in real life, my heart breaks for them Sad

JustDanceAddict · 01/06/2017 22:27

That was horrible.

stonecircle · 01/06/2017 23:57

Heavy stuff for Corrie. I suppose that's why it's on at 9. Bit uncomfortable watching it with 18 year old DS sat on the sofa next to me ...

Hidingtonothing · 02/06/2017 06:05

I found that scene really hard to watch and yes elle, it made me think about the girls this is really happening to as well.

littlemissM92 · 02/06/2017 09:47

That was horrible (just watched last nights) I don't even have any words for it I can't wait for tonight when her David etc can get her out of their
Although the damage has obviously already been done. And this is just a storyline it actually happens

stonecircle · 02/06/2017 10:04

It's been quite an eye-opener for me in just how people do groom their victims. It's easy to look at it objectively and think, 'oh for god's sake just say no/tell someone etc'

But then I can think of situations when I was in my teens and early 20s where I allowed myself to be manipulated and went along with things (nothing like this situation) and my older self wonders why I didn't speak out.

Nathan's patter is very clever.

squoosh · 02/06/2017 11:39

The sight of those three men walking into Bethany's bedroom was just the grimmest thing.

CoolCarrie · 02/06/2017 11:42

It has been very well done, and the actress who plays Bethany has been very good, as is the actor who plays Nathan. I bet he gets a lot of hassle in the street!

squoosh · 02/06/2017 11:47

I hope this isn't the start of gritty Eastenders style storylines for Corrie though. I don't mind the Ken being shoved down a stairs (I welcome it quite frankly) but Bethany's story has just been overly harrowing for my soap watching pleasure.

eddiemairswife · 02/06/2017 12:41

To change the subject.....Is that the last of Nick, walking out with his passport and just the clothes he's wearing?

squoosh · 02/06/2017 12:58

I hope to God it is! That actor is woeful. His attempts at looking emotional just look like he's suffering from trapped wind.
