Time for a new thread.

Last night's was the first time in ages I have actually enjoyed watching Corrie. What a difference a good plot twist can make!

Whilst we all recover from the shock of a plot not being immediately obvious from a mile away, just a reminder to everyone on the thread...however obvious a spoiler may seem to you, however many magazines it has been on the cover of, we don't talk about it on here. We are spoiler free.

The scene with Bethany, her mum,Gary and the policeman was so unlikely. When Sarah was pleading with her to stay, and saying how much they loved her, wouldn't Bethany have said "Then why are you pressing charges? " Sarah would have looked horrified, and said no, and the policeman's whole story would have disintegrated in front of them all.

lizzieoak · 24/05/2017 23:29

Point of order :) Does Jasmine etc have any idea about Tracey's role in the Victoria flats fire? I've totally forgotten (& we're a few weeks behind in Canada so apologies if covered in recent episodes).

ZeldaWasMyGransName · 25/05/2017 10:09

lizzie yes Yasmine knows all about it and was angry about it recently. If you are a few weeks behind it comes up in a storyline very soon.

lizzieoak · 25/05/2017 14:23

Thanks - she was looking at her son'a photo when Tracey was in court, so I suspected as much (but seem to have forgotten much about that storyline - it it's aftermath anyway).

woodhill · 25/05/2017 17:56

Bit confused. I thought Bethany was pressing charges against Sarah as she had held her against her will,

Clawdy · 25/05/2017 18:22

She was pressing charges, yes, because the police guy urged her to do so, lying to her that Sarah and Gary were pressing charges against her for criminal damage, so she must get her own back. All very unlikely and very confusing!

honeyroar · 25/05/2017 22:13

You'd think the Platts would know every policeman going in Manchester after all the murders and scandals they've had over the years!

GetHappy · 26/05/2017 21:23

Has anyone watched tonight's??
I'm sooooo confused

Nick's a nasty piece of work.

Was that meant to be blood on the other copy of the book? If so wouldn't it have dried to a brownish colour by now?

GetHappy · 26/05/2017 22:08

Oh I couldn't work out what it meant ... So does it mean Daniel pushed Ken??

theliverpoolone · 26/05/2017 22:41

The whole Nick/Peter/Steve thing confused me. Surely at the minute Nick hates Steve more than he hates Peter, so why on earth would he want to pay him over the odds for the pub, massively benefiting him, even though it would get at Peter Confused

Akire · 26/05/2017 22:47

Another confused viewer need watch again. The only thing I can think of if Nik is jealous that Leanne lied for Peter, and that this somehowvmeans she cares for him more than him. Not that she was doing it for Simon or her sister.

Who ran pub before They did? Not been watching it that long, do ex pub owners tend to move off street altogether?

Back in the day, Natalie Barnes had her name over the door, but I can't remember who was after her - Liz and Jim, maybe?

lizzieoak · 26/05/2017 23:23

Didn't Jack and Vera own it for a bit? And LeeAnne's mum (Cindy from Eastenders).

IThe Rovers started off owned by the Walkers, Annie being one of the first matriarchs of the Street.

The the Bet and Alec years, then the Duckworths. Alec again briefly, then Natalie Barnes.

Then Fred Elliott and various partners (both investors and personal) until his death, when Ashley inherited it.

He sold it to Steve, and apart from the Stella years, it's been with the MacDonalds ever since (plus Tony for a while)

Re:Ken. I think Eccles did it. And as his memory returns, he'll remember just falling over the dog by the stairs.

deloresclaiborne · 27/05/2017 07:16

what was that blonde woman called, she had the domestic violence storyline and tracy killed her dp charlie
she ran the pub for a while

stripeyboys · 27/05/2017 07:59

Delores, the blonde lady was Shelley. She was friends with Sunita and was one of Peter's two wives when he committed bigamy.

I am confused about the whole Ken situation. Do we know it was Daniel? Where does the book come in to it? Ken fell/was pushed down the stairs. Was the book just there so it got some blood on it? Is the book evidence that Daniel was present at the time of the attack?

BoudiccasHare · 27/05/2017 08:00

'The whole Nick/Peter/Steve thing confused me. Surely at the minute Nick hates Steve more than he hates Peter, so why on earth would he want to pay him over the odds for the pub, massively benefiting him, even though it would get at Peter'

Just watched the episode. Nick overheard Steve telling Michelle that he will be heartbroken to sell the pub (as well as Steve going on in private about it being him home - they really drove the point home in that ep), and Nick knows that it makes all Peter's current plans possible to have it so he's actually getting at both of them by taking the pub himself.

I've just watched it & I took it to mean he used the book to push him down or knock him out first.

keepondreaming · 27/05/2017 10:35

Looking at the trailer for next week - it's on every day - I think we get the answers to he Ken whodunnit and more!

Run4Fun · 27/05/2017 10:45

The previews for next week look a bit 'dark'.
