Time for a new thread.

Last night's was the first time in ages I have actually enjoyed watching Corrie. What a difference a good plot twist can make!

Whilst we all recover from the shock of a plot not being immediately obvious from a mile away, just a reminder to everyone on the thread...however obvious a spoiler may seem to you, however many magazines it has been on the cover of, we don't talk about it on here. We are spoiler free.

who to keep when the plague sweeps the street love it lol

We can lose Sean- can't remember he last had a story line.

Blounde one with stupid laugh- no story just annoying.

Sinade and what's his face can just move Oxford we will not mind. Fact he give it up to work part time in shop when Sinade can move anywhere is so not believable.

Kevin's daughters can go as well but can visit occasionally.

lizzieoak · 16/05/2017 14:13

I actually like Sean, but think they could let him smile once a quarter.

Sinead & Daniel could be alright but the writers just throw big ideas (abortion, Oxford) @ them & that's it. They don't seem to do small real life lives anymore, it's all sturm und drang.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 16/05/2017 22:51

Oh, a plague is an excellent idea!

I would save Mary, Norris, David, Dev (so bad he is funny), Liz, Steve, Sally & Tim, Todd, and I think that's it.

Or actually give him some storylines, rather than being waspishly amusing in the Rovers or Underworld, it is verging on an offensive parody of a gay man at times.

Sinead seems very much a homebody with a limited horizon. I can imagine that the prospect of moving away from Wetherfield and her family would be mind boggling to her. Same thing happened to my sister and her boyfriend. She went to do a PhD in Oxford, he was nearly 30 and had never moved out of his parents' house, they broke up as he couldn't face the prospect of moving 70 miles south or being an hour and a half away by train from his mum.

lizzieoak · 17/05/2017 02:40

Anne, can't we keep Luke, Peter and Rob as they are so lovely?

Pastamancer · 17/05/2017 11:37

We must keep Steve, I need someone to perv over

ProfYaffle · 17/05/2017 16:34

I thought Daniel and Sinead getting together was a real opportunity for developing Sinead's character. In the beginning I thought he was going to boost her confidence and bring out her business acumen when she was thinking of improvements for the kebab shop. Hasn't actually happened though, she's just carrying on the same as always.

eddiemairswife · 17/05/2017 17:53

Daniel has never really fitted into Corrie. He seems to have no personality at all; nothing to bring to the scenes he is in. And, considering he is doing finals this term, he is doing no studying whatsoever.

When will the Phelan/Andy mystery be solved?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/05/2017 19:05

lizzie - I could be swayed by Rob, but not Luke. And Peter is a total sleaze. What are you thinking???

OP posts:
Housewife2010 · 17/05/2017 22:28

Peter is dreamy. He has the hottest eyes.

Smith1 · 17/05/2017 22:49

Peter? Really? Hmm

lizzieoak · 17/05/2017 23:22

To me Peter (Chris Gascoigne) is very handsome & twinkly. As is Luke. They both have interesting faces. Adam's face bores me as does Aidan's though perhaps they're considered handsome.

Right, David can stay! He made me laugh tonight when he spoke with Rosie. I used to like Peter but he is a real bore since he was with Leanne and Toyah. He was best with Carla. Norris and Mary were good tonight about their visit to see Mary's Mother

lizzieoak · 18/05/2017 01:48

Rob has a lovely smile, or voice, or something.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 18/05/2017 07:38

Yes I like Rob this time round.

Tracey can stay because she hugged Mary last night.

stonecircle · 18/05/2017 08:15

But Peter's such a weak, unstable and rather pathetic character! Always letting Simon down, making excuses for himself etc. He'd be one of the first on my hit list! Along with Maria, Eva, and Michelle.

Eastie77 · 18/05/2017 12:05

I suppose Peter is a product of his upbringing, Ken abandoned him so he has struggled to be a dad to Simon.

I think Daniel is also meant to be a mini Ken, an intellectual with great 'potential' while dim witted Sinead is the 2017 version of Deidre.

stripeyboys · 18/05/2017 13:17

Well done Simon! I was really pleased when he pointed out the daft attitudes Audrey and Liz were exhibiting last night. Leanne is not "calling herself Simon's mother", she adopted him. She is his mother. He was also right about the way some of the adults speak about baby Oliver, as if he is a possession that they have rights over.

Ken's attacker must be someone that has not yet been in the frame. There are plenty of possibilities.

Seb? He's got a temper on him.

Either put up to it by Phelan, or shoved him down the stairs after going off to get Phelan's money for him.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 18/05/2017 18:33

My money's on Eccles. He probably has never liked Ken.

I think it was Sinead. Eccles has been after his own spin off show for years. He's jealous of Kat & Alfie from Eastenders. Grin

BringMeTea · 18/05/2017 19:23

I think Sinead too.

Mexxi · 18/05/2017 19:53

Didn't Ken try to abandon Eccles ages ago because he didn't want him?
The character I would love to see the back of is Fizz. She talks in a horrid whiny voice the whole time.

deadringer · 19/05/2017 00:28

Yes i have been convinced all along that it was Seb. I was right about shona being Clayton's mum so maybe i am on a roll. I really enjoyed corrie last night, lots of funny little one liners being tossed about.
