Well that episode was both lovely and tragic in equal measure!

Poor wilma. But I'm so bloody glad they didn't do a miraculous recovery and happy ending like they have been doing so much in the more recent ones.

Think I may have cried through most of that

I knew she would be back, but still. I find their storyline so sad, with having to hide.

Ah Patsy back and a happy ending for the finale, after a tough beginning in the programme and poor Wilma.

But so long to wait til the next programme now ...

I was born in 1963 and my dad wasn't even allowed to wait at the hospital. He had to phone from the call box at the end of our road to see if I'd been born.

And on to the long winter of 62/63 ????

Such a fabulous episode. I cried a lot. Lovely Patsy came back. The Turners Doris Day labour duet reached the highest peaks of total Turner tweeness and finally the hottest vest clad vicar in the history of the planet! I loved it!

"Violet told me not to come home drunk. And I was drunk. So I didn't go home"

Quite possibly one of the best lines.

I loved the floral dresses in tonight's episode.

DS came and watched for a bit and got a fit of giggles at the escaping diaphragm scene. He made a sharp exit when the labour scenes started though.

I thought the Turners were lush tonight.

Drippy vicar looks hot without the slicked down brillcream look!

The Turners singing at each other through the door was nauseating.

Am I the only person who wanted to 🤢when dr Turner started singing.

Definitely reached Peak Twee with Dr & Mrs Smug and their duet. And him not only present but on the bed with her for the birth with Sr Julienne present? I don't think so.

Vicar saved the day tonight.

I think it is just Dr Smug's delivery, because when Tom was declaring his love for Barbara it sounded sweet and true, but if Dr Smug had the same lines they would come out as a pile of twee.

I loved all of it tonight. Fab acting, great storylines, lots of tears. For me the bit with Tom surprising Barbara with the carousel broke me. I loved it.

The Rev's a bit of rough - who knew!

I love the fact that it's all about women, and so many of them are older women too. Such great acting from The actress who plays Phyllis

Loved Angela dumping water on the baby's head.

And of course patsy came home.

They could have left it there couldn't they, everything all nicely wrapped up and happy. Still, glad there will be more but then surely they will have to stop soon or they will just be doing it as it is now and I can't say I have noticed any closet nuns amongst my colleagues.

DS2 and I d a great impression of Dr Turner and Shelagh whispering earnestly to each other through every episode. Was kind of hoping to pull out my 'Whispering Labour noises' for comic effect. Bit disappointed she bellowed like the rest of us

The turners sang when they met? Didn't they have a song in the charts?
