People forget the early Pill was far from perfect.

HelenaDove · 12/03/2017 20:40

"Why would she take contraceptives I wanted a son Hmm

Hulababy · 12/03/2017 20:40

Definitely need to take them as directed, even now.

Soubriquet · 12/03/2017 20:40

Shelagh is wonderful. I've always loved her character, but it's only now I'm realising what a great actress she is!

Lilaclily · 12/03/2017 20:43

Why was she putting make up on her ? Aw at the singing !

QueenieGoldstein · 12/03/2017 20:44

To make her look more normal, so the children's memory of her won't be as scary.

Soubriquet · 12/03/2017 20:44

Because Wilma would have wanted that. She took pride in her appearance

Hulababy · 12/03/2017 20:44

I think she was making the mum look less ill so as to make it easier for the children to see her.

Lilaclily · 12/03/2017 20:45

Oh yes I see now!

Aw at last for shelagh Grin

Soubriquet · 12/03/2017 20:45

You're probably right

Even in the early 80s there was an attempted class action against a pharma company, with many UK families involved, after a number of deaths from thrombosis. Most victims were taking the Pill exactly as directed. Sometimes they hadn't been warned of contraindications, such as smoking (not sure that smoking was even noted as a contraindication in the 70s).
They got nowhere, it was thrown out of court.

Toddlerteaplease · 12/03/2017 20:46

Would she really have been sitting on him like that in 1962? Men were still not welcome in delivery rooms.

Kitsandkids · 12/03/2017 20:48

Poor Wilma, she was so lovely and so excited for the future Sad

HelenaDove · 12/03/2017 20:49

There was a thread in AIBU a couple of years ago where the OP had a DVT from Zelleta one on the newer Pills.

Libitina · 12/03/2017 20:49

Sad tears, happy tears, sad tears, happy tears.

IAmAPaleontologist · 12/03/2017 20:57

Shelagh should be in labour more often, she is much less annoying.

Soubriquet · 12/03/2017 20:58

Ah she's back!!
