I don't remember what happened to Sister Mary...

Cynthia

She was attacked and bitten by a man from a ship.

Horrible episode. Was quite sad to see. Still love the program though

The Rev couldn't afford a ring, gincamelbak.

Notjustuser1458393875 · 22/01/2017 21:04

I thought it was a bit ambiguous, Cynthia's attack? There was certainly a suggestion of sexual violence at least.

Crying at the little boy.

Runny · 22/01/2017 21:05

The little boy in tonight's episode was so cute!

AnitaPallenbergsKnees · 22/01/2017 21:05

Aww all worked out.Smile

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/01/2017 21:05

I hope Sister Meanypants doesn't last long. I am very cross with her for sending Sister Mary Cynthia to the mother house, when she needs the lovely therapeutic community the doctor had found. That is going to change me back to bite her.

Soubriquet · 22/01/2017 21:05

No they definitely say she wasn't raped

Braceybracegirl · 22/01/2017 21:06

Where did they send her ? I missed that bit.

Soubriquet · 22/01/2017 21:07

The mother house

Where is ShelaghTurner?

I bet she's furious that Shelagh and Patrick still haven't had an onscreen kiss yet

Sr Julienne wanted Sr Ursula's actions noting so she will have back up to get rid of her.

ilovecardigans · 22/01/2017 21:19

That little boy made my heart clench, the poor wee soul. I have a lazy eye and in 1970 at the age of 5 I also had to wear glasses with a patch over my 'good' eye to force the lazy one to work. It didn't and I spent what felt like forever blundering around in a blur, getting picked on and laughed at by other kids.

gincamelbak · 22/01/2017 21:19

I stand corrected! My memory is pretty hazy about it Blush

Doolallylally · 22/01/2017 21:22

What a heart wrenching episode. Me and DH were both in tears, well nearly anyway. Great to see the programme back.

Gizlotsmum · 22/01/2017 21:27

Loved this episode. Love sister crane and her open disgust at the way women are treated..

Zippidydoodah · 22/01/2017 21:29

Was it here that I heard the storylines are getting grittier? The violence was horrible tonight (but I still loved the programme!) and so happy for the turners! (Who knew she was so good at drawing?!) Wink

Zippidydoodah · 22/01/2017 21:30

If only I had had the willpower to watch it after finishing my jobs, as was the plan (series linked it).... Oh well, time for jobs now and a much later night than planned!!

DesolateWaist · 22/01/2017 21:31

I love CTM. DH is so down on it though.

I'm glad they didn't drag out Mrs Turner being pregnant for too long although I am a tiny bit pissed of by the insinuation that infertility can be overcome by enough praying.

MuseumGardens · 22/01/2017 21:36

That cute little Milky Bar kid!

FrutiFlutey · 22/01/2017 21:36

I never even knew!!!! I'm so excited it's back on! X

rivierliedje · 22/01/2017 21:37

Am I the only one worried about Patsy's dad's degenerative neurological condition? It seemed she was implying she might have it too, when she said it might cause them both a lot of pain.
The violence was harrowing.

Clawdy · 22/01/2017 22:06

Very dark tonight. I expect tough issues to be tackled but if it becomes too harrowing, I'll probably stop watching.

Breward · 22/01/2017 22:17

I hope the degenerative condition is not Huntington's Disease. Although a storyline would highlight what a truly horrible disease it is.

Did anyone catch last week's behind the scenes episode of CTM? It was on about 5pm on Sunday evening.

wendytorrence · 22/01/2017 22:17

Are the episodes now no longer based on true stories?

BoxLoadingBaby · 22/01/2017 22:21

If by "true stories" you mean Jennifer Worth's stories, Wendy, they ran out of those around halfway through the second series.
However I believe the writer has said that stories are based on tales from other real midwives, as well as history for things like Thalidomide
