Is anyone else eagerly awaiting the arrival of taboo starring my lover the beautiful Mr Hardy on Saturday 7th of jan?

My theory...that dunking JDs mum gave him as a baby has made his resistant to drowning in some way and this is why he survived the ship incident (assuming he was on it!)

I thought he survived the sinking because all the slaves were chained and/or shut below decks, but he would have been free.

I'm enjoying the personal relationships and dynamics, and the machinations of King and Company, but I haven't the faintest idea what all the flashbacks and voodoo mutterings are about and they leave me pretty cold.

I will watch it through, though, as others have said, to see how the fuck they conclude it.

Yes, agree about the drowning ship, he prob got on a small boat with other survivors (non-slaves) and therefore made it but also knew about the bad practices involved = all his guilt and flashbacks

So there is a bit more to the story than "Take that fucking dress off now!" altho that's the bit we all remember

I also don't have a CBeebies aged child

DSis doesn't even have a child and quite sure she'll be watching too

I want to watch it and drool/rewind/kiss the TV in peace so will have to record it and get up before everyone else in the morning!

I'm just joining this thread after having a good read. I've watched every episode with varying degrees of enjoyment, but there's enough to keep me wanting to watch (TH if I'm being honest).

I'm enjoying it, but also not enjoying it. I like the main plot, but can't see where the (half-)incest is going or adding.

The half-sister reminds me of Shelley Duvall as Olive Oyl, and James is half Bane half Papa Lazarou

I think I'll be relieved. If it wasn't for the excellent cast I'd have given up. Jonathan Pryce and Jason Watkins are so good I don't want to miss them, and I do love all the East India Company goings on too. It's just the subplots that I find to be unnecessary filler.
