I think mywinetime talks a lot of sense.

I really don't think it's a fix. Claudia just didn't get as many votes!

I know Louise isn't popular on here (and she's not my favourite either) but she's still a good dancer and a nice person, it's not as if she goes out every week and jogs on the spot then swears at the judges. So surely not that hard to believe she gets votes.

ppeatfruit · 12/12/2016 12:39

No I don't reckon it's fixed, just bit annoying. It would have made more sense to have had all of the semi finalists in the final.

DeepanKrispanEven · 12/12/2016 12:45

Flappys, how can you say the winner is decided when it was pretty blatant that the judges preferred Colin Jackson to Darren Gough, Ricky Whittle to Chris Hollins, and Rachel Stevens to Tom Chambers? And if it really was a fix in favour of Louise, surely she wouldn't have ended up at the bottom of the leader board this week?

HalleLouja · 12/12/2016 13:01

I don't think the BBC are fixing it. I do think the judges really wanted Ore to get through as he's really good and the only one without dance training. He isn't as good a dancer as Danny. By any stretch. Len did even mention that Ore was doing so well despite not being a gymnast / have training.

MyWineTime · 12/12/2016 13:38

But Flappys, it was the public who put Penny and Gabby in the dance-off. They were both mid leader board. There were several other dancers that the judges wanted out before either of them. The judges were horrified that either of them were in the DO but they had to choose one of them to go.

Hackmum, that's not how the scoring works! When the couples dance twice, the points affect their position on the board, but they don't get more weighting from the judges votes! Their final position on the leader board gives them the number of points to be combined with the points from the order of the public vote. Ed was bottom of the judges leader board and he didn't get enough public votes to keep him out of the DO. Other couples got more public votes.

SoupDragon · 12/12/2016 13:40

I don't genuinely believe it's a fix but it certainly looks that way on many occasions. Same as with the cries of racism really.

I still remember the disappointment that Brendan and Sophie didn't get another chance to do their Charleston.

Good lord yes! It was amazing and only week, two or so I think.

I think Craig is the most honest and consistent! He's the only one who is truly fair with marks.

Generally speaking, I would agree. However he does take a huge dislike to some people and is very spiteful.

WalrusGumboot · 12/12/2016 14:14

Craig gave the same scores to Ed Balls and Jeremy Vine week after week after week, even though they were obviously improving. Hardly fair!

Maybe not blatantly being fixed, but when the judges' scores influence who goes out, there is certainly room for manipulation.

MrsJamin · 12/12/2016 14:42

It depends what you mean by fixing? Asking the judges to go harsh on certain dancers, or actually miscounting public votes? The first is easy to do and hard to prove, the second is very very unlikely.

ppeatfruit · 12/12/2016 15:18

Oddly Flappys Claudia did that standing still and letting AJ do all the moves when she was 'saved' in the last DO she was in, with Greg. That was definitely weird. Not a fix though because she's gone now hasn't she ? Even though the improvement has been tremendous.

sterlingcooper · 12/12/2016 15:30

I don't think it's a fix in terms of judges being forced to give certain scores, or public vote being misrepresented. But who knows what conversations judges/producers have with each other off screen which could influence the way they score even subconsciously.

SoupDragon · 12/12/2016 15:39

Last year there were cries of "fix!" about Peter Andre.

RTKangaSANTAMummy · 12/12/2016 19:15

Len just said on ITT that he wanted someone from BALLROOM or LATIN to take over like ANTON, KAREN or IAN or the kiwi guy who had annastacia whose name has escaped me ATM

So that there was someone with the experience to see the proper footsteps etc rather than musiacal theatre or ballet or dance videos etc

I think that is a good idea and would like it to be ANTON or KAREN or maybe IAN

Who would you like?

CondensedMilkSarnies · 12/12/2016 19:29

Anton ! Or maybe Ian

Tanaqui · 12/12/2016 19:46

Actually, I would like Brendan!

Chipstick10 · 12/12/2016 19:47

oh perleeze what's this got to do with politics and Murdoch Grin

CaveMum · 12/12/2016 19:48

Darcey said in an interview weeks ago that the new Head Judge would be a ballroom/latin expert. I'd be happy with Anton, Ian or Karen (preference for Karen to balance the panel). There are plenty of great judges/former competitors out there who could take on the role, but I imagine the Beeb will want a known "name".

TheDrsDocMartens · 12/12/2016 20:59

Brendan used to judge in New Zealand didn't he?

sterlingcooper · 12/12/2016 21:17

Oh god not Anton, please. I love Ian but don't know if he'd be right for the judging panel. Karen might be a good choice.

GrouchyKiwi · 12/12/2016 21:52

Yiss, Brindin dud judge on the New Zild show.

MoonriseKingdom · 13/12/2016 04:47

I love that accent GrouchyKiwi. Especially as spoken by Jermaine and Britt from Flight of the Conchords. Grin

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 13/12/2016 07:27

Monkseal's up.

QueenMortificado · 13/12/2016 07:42

LivingBoy I don't think there was an issue saying the spoiler is up, I think it was all the "I've read the spoiler and I'm really upset, I'm going going to watch it from now. What a fix" etc etc

EvilRingahBitch · 13/12/2016 07:57

Some posters did say that saying "spoiler's up." was both annoying and indicative of serious character flaws, but since the DS spoiler thread is so over burdened that it slows to a crawl every Saturday night I think any practice that means interested parties only have to look at it once rather than checking ten times over the course of a half hour is to be encouraged rather than the reverse. It's a dead issue until September 2017 now anyway Sad.

PurpleDaisies · 13/12/2016 08:01

livingboy it wasn't the words "spoiler's up" that were the problem-it was the rest of the post that made it very clear who had gone. No one would have had an issue if all it said was the spoiler was available if you wanted to find it.

PurpleDaisies · 13/12/2016 08:08

judges are shocking. clearly in favour of Clifton final.

caught up on digital spy (not spilling the beans) but won't bother anymore.Sad

This is what people were pissed off about.
