New thread Grin

OP posts:
PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/12/2016 20:26

I'm on a train with a huge family having a sing-along to awful music and Claudia's out Angry

Honeyandfizz · 11/12/2016 20:28

I thought it was just me who thought Louise wasn't all that. I have no idea how got this far, she's so boring. Danny on the other hand......I'll smash my tv next week if he doesn't win!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/12/2016 20:31

I generally like Danny, but that funny little moustache looks a bit sleazy... (I'm trying to drown out the singing with last night's show!).

FlappysMammyAndPopeInExile · 11/12/2016 20:33

Do you think the judges sidelined her because she wasn't 'showy?'

possibly shotgun.

DH and I both said how much we liked her dance-off performance which took us back to the days of actually dancing and not all of this entertainment-tell-a-story-stuff.

I though she danced wonderfully.

But neither of them should have been there anyway.

Come back, Arlene! (She wouldn't have been bullied into playing favourites - probably why they got rid of her.)

Theromanempire · 11/12/2016 20:34

Total team Danny here next week - will vote as many times as I can online using the entire family email addresses Grin

Claudia has been thrown under a bus to save Louise. Had her dances been scored properly last night, Louise would have been bottom and that could well have made a difference to the outcome Angry

Had to laugh at Oti's 'shocked' comment - really not the done thing in Britain is it? Grin Grin

Fizzingwhizbees · 11/12/2016 20:37

Oh I'm so sad for Claudia- I thought she'd blend into the background at the beginning but she's really come on leaps and bounds and that Quickstep was joyous. Louise probably should've been out based on her two dances, they were just a bit boring and awkward, not sure I agreed with the judges last night.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/12/2016 20:37

Just smiling at AJ in proper tails - it looks so nice Smile

ilovesooty · 11/12/2016 20:39

Louise should have finished bottom of the leader board last night. A lot of people must be voting for her and it's a mystery to me.

MrsJayy · 11/12/2016 20:40

Very fickle here Danny to Win

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/12/2016 20:42

I think I'm going to plump for Ore although they're all a little bit boring, aren't they?

SoupDragon · 11/12/2016 20:43

This is who Louise reminds me of

CotswoldStrife · 11/12/2016 20:44

On one of the early SCD thread here someone posted a link to Ore dancing in the other charity dance competition and he was fantastic. He may not have had any training, but he's got a natural talent so not a complete surprise to them although what has surprised me is Joanne has improved her choreography IMworthlessO Grin

Does anyone know who is choreographing the faster, more aggressive Argentine Tangos at the moment because they do look quite different than previously. I can't make up my mind whether I like them or not yet.

raisedbyguineapigs · 11/12/2016 20:46

I think Louise and Kevin must be old lady favourites ( no offence to old ladies!) I can't see their appeal at all. The dances are average, they have no charisma of personality, she doesn't get half the flak of Danny, despite having a dance background. I bet she'll win it now. I never had any truck with the alleged Clifton bias, but to get to the final 4 years in a row is a bit dodgy, especially with not brilliant partners or outstanding routines that I can remember. Is the final viewers votes only?

Fizzingwhizbees · 11/12/2016 20:47

Brendan's mouthing off about the judges so clearly the pros have been muttering about it too: www.digitalspy.com/tv/strictly-come-dancing/feature/a816581/brendan-cole-strictly-come-dancing-column-judges-scoring-beggars-belief/

MrsJayy · 11/12/2016 20:47

My Fav AT was simon webbes i melted into a puddle watching it. This years is very boxy imo and not enough leg action.

Theromanempire · 11/12/2016 20:48

When Kevin and Louise were upstairs after they had been announced as through, did you notice just how much Louise was pulling herself away from Kevin Hmm she looked really uncomfortable!

Dozer · 11/12/2016 20:49

Louise should've gone this week.

bonfireheart · 11/12/2016 20:50

My thoughts....
Very thing everyone said at the beginning has turned out to be true.
Cliftons in the final - check.
Claudia not doing the tour, so won't make it to the final, check.
Ore is a BBC presenter, so will be judges favourite, check.
I also noticed that following the whole Tameka, Strictly is "racist" stories the very next week the judges because OTT in their praise of him. He barely moved in the AT and the judges were all over it. Joanne's choreography does a great job of masking how little actually dances.

Re: Danny being a ringer. No one can clarify how much training he's had, it varies from being an understudy when he was 10 to be in the west end. I do think though he is naturally gifted and has great musicality, he has a great singing voice and regardless of his training, I think his natural talent plus Oti's training would have made him good.

You do all know that AJ has a girlfriend and she is one of the pro dancers on SCD?

And lastly, I remember when Ore was announced as a celeb I went on YouTube to find out who he was. There were LOADSTONE of videos of him dancing on BBC shows that have now disappeared hmmmm. I did manage to find this...

bonfireheart · 11/12/2016 20:52

What I would love is they got a choreographer to create a dance for the male celebs and one for the female celebs and they all danced it (not at the same time like in the cha cha then).
Then we can compare. I'd really love to know how Ore would have performed both of the routines Danny did yesterday.

CotswoldStrife · 11/12/2016 20:52

Yy to Simon and Kristina's AT - I watched that again on you tube the other week, fabulous! No wonder he was yelling at the end.

I think Kevin has had a run of good partners, I'd like to see him get a duff one for a change.

MrsJayy · 11/12/2016 20:54

Bbc sports presenter wins strictly wont be the first time Chris thingy was gawd awful yet he won.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/12/2016 20:55

I love Jo's AT dress. I'd be tempted by one like that except I think it would probably show every lump and bump!

Re Ore not dancing much in the AT, one of the things my teacher has said time and time again is that "people don't really care what the gentleman's doing - he's the frame and the lady is the picture" so it could have been choreographed with that in mind!

JennyHolzersGhost · 11/12/2016 20:56

I still suspect that Jamie has got Louise in some kind of Stepford Wives mentality which means she's too inhibited. His lukewarm audience appearances don't exactly do much to dissuade me and nor does what he said when he did that VT about them having to dance 'THAT CLOSE' ....
I dunno maybe I've spent too much time on MN relationships threads Grin

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 11/12/2016 20:56

Not that that's brilliant when it's his dancing we're meant to be judging I courses Grin

FantasticButtocks · 11/12/2016 20:57

I've gone right off Louise. Wish she'd gone. Tess loves it when anyone cries... and she always points it out, in a very loud voice, often more than once 'aw...he/she is crying, aww'... Angry

Think it's gonna be Danny
