After watching worst tv of the 90's on five I was having a quick google of worse tv ever and one show universally panned was one I loved- called 'out of this world' 80's sitcom about a girl whose half alien and another one me and my sister remember but no one else about a ghost haunting a family that had moved into her house after she'd choked on a chicken bone.
What ransoms do you remember?

Does anyone remember chocky(sp?) it was a kids drama.
I also remember
Crown court-it was in at lunchtime in the 80s
A kids program with a man and a puppet dragon in the 80s no one ever remembers it but me,
Gruey- had an actor called Simon something in

Sorry they are all a bit vague!

You rang m'lord is comedy genius. DH & I have the box sets. It's amazing how often you can use the phrases:

I can't remember the last time I...

their lovely shiny faces.... carbolic soap...

Such a classic.

Plus surely everyone remembers the Brittas Empire?! We taped them all & watched them over & over. I recently sky +ed the first episode & was bitterly disappointed, what a load of crap!!

Yes I loved sex chips and rock and roll!

Married with children
Boy meets world- Shawn was so cute!
The Ozone on Sunday mornings
The demon headmaster
T-bag (had Kellie bright in it)
The flying doctors
Prisoner cell block 8 with all the old Aussie soap stars!
You bet
Eldorado- was deemed unpopular but got higher ratings than soaps now
There was a one off docudrama in the early noughties about a terrorist attack in the uk where a plane was flown into the Houses of Parliament- no one remembers this!!

theluckiest

I adored Robin of Sherwood! I had the Clannad album cover on my wall.

I'm enjoying drooling over Michael Praed in Emmerdale now, even if he is a wrong 'un!

Hidingtonothing · 05/12/2016 22:37

Buttwing, the kids programme with the dragon wasn't Puddle Lane was it? It was Neil Innes as a magician and the puppet was a spell dragon named Toby.

Hidingtonothing · 05/12/2016 22:40

Chocky rang a bell too so I've just googled it. Had forgotten all about it but me and Dbro loved it, remember it being a bit dark though!

Fyoosha · 05/12/2016 23:13

I loved You Rang M'Lord!
Also House of Elliott.
US shows - I was obsessed with Thirtysomething at one time. And Northern Exposure.
Does anyone remember a UK sitcom called Rich Tea and Sympathy?

Permanentlyexhausted · 05/12/2016 23:26

zukiecat and the luckiest - see my post of 23.55 yesterday!!

Great thread. I'm obviously old as I remember lots Xmas Blush

A few I don't think have been mentioned. They could be Southern TV region shows.

'On Safari'. A wacky game show with Christopher Biggins and Gillingham Taylforth.

'The Saturday Banana Show'. A sort of pre-Tiswas with Bill Oddie.

'Hey Look That's Me'. A guy on a bike towing a pink caravan around the South. He dressed up as different characters.

woodhill · 06/12/2016 10:47

Sink or swim a 1980s comedy with an unrecognisable Peter Davison, Phillip Glennister and Gillian Taylforth

TheLegendOfBeans · 06/12/2016 11:00

Nancy

You're not that old; they only merged the regions into ITV in 1994 I think self justifies x

Clawdy · 06/12/2016 11:22

Wizbit - "Haha thisaway, haha thataway....."

jmszel · 06/12/2016 11:37

I woke up remembering hidehi and a late night show called gods gift. I watched a real weird mix of shows. Can't remember the names but a few different tv shows with Julian Clary

SapphireStrange · 06/12/2016 13:43

Pyjama Party Oh yes! It was a bit shit and very low-budget. Grin I loved Katie Puckrik though. She has recently resurfaced on 6 Music and as an occasional pundit on Radio 4's Front Row. It's nice to have her back.

Fyoosha, Northern Exposure was lovely wasn't it? I adored the cosy, home-made-looking houses.

MargotLovedTom · 06/12/2016 13:50

Oh yes, Sink or Swim - think I was still nursing a juvenile crush on Peter Davison after his Tristan Farnon days. Wasn't it Robert Glennister though, and I don't remember Gillian Taylforth being in it? I remember RG lived on a barge.

LastLeaf · 06/12/2016 13:55
