Time for a new thread.

I am hoping by the end of this thread Phelan will have disappeared, Anna and family will have moved away and someone will have remembered to book a babysitter for baby Jack.

OP posts:

I think Bethany is recently 16.

FlowerOfTheValley · 19/02/2017 14:44

Bethany was born June 2000 so 16. Quite sad I googled. I thought she was about 14 but was obviously wrong as she had exams last year.

Doesn't make the grooming story quite as sick as if she was 14 but I still found it uncomfortable viewing.

What was the point of the women in the gay bar and their totally banal dialogue. I am guessing a storyline will come of it involving two of them getting together but it was bad.

I quite like spoilers and I like finding out in advance what may happen but I wasn't aware of anything to do with the spoiler mentioned on here.

eddiemairswife · 19/02/2017 15:03

Bethany did her GCSEs last year and did very badly (can't remember why). Not sure if she is doing resits or A Levels or both. However, she's likely to fail again if she keeps missing lessons to do the on-line videos. Which is a pity, because when she arrived she seemed quite intelligent; I recall she was trying to discuss Anna Karenina with Audrey.
I do wish the younger people were a bit more involved with their education. Only Craig at the moment is at college. We are never told how Faye, Amy or Simon are doing at school. Ken, at least , should be taking an interest in Amy's progress.

CaptainHammer · 19/02/2017 15:36

Tim perving over Rosie is rank.

DJKKSlider · 19/02/2017 16:12

Is Tim 'perving' thoiugh or just feeling a bit uncomfortable?
I can totally imagine a man of almost 50 feeling a bit uncomfortable around Rosie.... I know exactly what he's thinking...Wink I think just the same...
"Fuck me, she can't act to save her life".

Grin
Akire · 19/02/2017 16:16

I didn't think tim was perving I just thought w didn't know where to look, he's got a teenage daughter and sort lived Sophie on off nonpribkems. Think way she was doing aerobics he thought was "this isn't appropriate!" But could just me and liking Tim and not thinking that. It's not like she even really pretty or well endowed!

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 19/02/2017 16:24

He' said he doesn't know where to look so the impression I got is that he is afraid to look at her when she's in her workout gear in case someone thinks he's perving? If that makes sense.

FlowerOfTheValley · 19/02/2017 18:52

I think Tim is uncomfortable around Rosie too rather than perving at her.

Akire · 19/02/2017 18:57

Think because she's number one chosen child in eye of Sally if he tried say do You think she could put more clothes on or do this he would get mouthful!

MadHattersWineParty · 20/02/2017 21:07

aww, super-fast labour and a three-month old baby born without medical intervention. Must be a soap birth!

eddiemairswife · 20/02/2017 21:26

One of these days I would like to see a soap character become pregnant with her long-term partner, have a non-eventful pregnancy, have a straightforward birth in hospital, with her partner present. I'm sick to death of soap mothers giving birth in record time in pubs, taxis, lifts, someone's front room.......Didn't Maria go into labour on a beach?

CaptainHammer · 20/02/2017 21:28

Yea perving wasn't really the right word, I'd just caught up on the last few and really noticed the weirdness between them. I just really wish Rosie wasn't back in it!

CoffeeCoffeeAndLotsOfIt · 20/02/2017 21:35

Really wish Corrie could do a typical birth!

Labour for a couple of days / forceps / ventouse / caesarean or whatever. Obviously in hospital. Not an easy and quick first birth at home / in a lift / during a nativity play etc where other street residents act as midwives as ambulance stuck on ring road!

CoffeeCoffeeAndLotsOfIt · 20/02/2017 21:35

Eddiemair - she did yes.

CoffeeCoffeeAndLotsOfIt · 20/02/2017 21:37

Mad hatters - I paused the tele and called Dh to look at the huge newborn! He's bigger than my 4 month old dd.

thenightsky · 20/02/2017 22:20

Hang on.. I'm confused.

I thought Michelle and Leanne were at same stage (weeks) of pregnancy.

So how come Leanne's baby is huge and Michelle's was too tiny survive only 2 or 3 weeks ago?

Confused
Thinkingblonde · 20/02/2017 22:22

What did Toyah cut the cord with, her teeth?
Why didn't the script writers think to call the fire brigade before an ambulance.

MrsBungle · 20/02/2017 22:28

Isn't Leanne's baby very early? I thought it was around the beginning of July she slept with Steve meaning it would be due April? im so sick of These ridiculous super-fast soap births. Didn't chesny's girlfriend guve birth at a nativity play?!

Akire · 20/02/2017 22:32

I'm sure few weeks ago Nik was joking to Simone we have 3 months more of this... when she could hardly get through the door already. Thought she can't just be 6m!

SpornStar · 20/02/2017 22:39

How does Steve not know what the Giants Causeway is? His dad is the most Northern Irish man ever (so he is).

And why did Michelle talk about all the summers they spent in Ireland as kids and then rhyme off beaches that are in Northern Ireland?

DJKKSlider · 20/02/2017 22:42

Did everyone forget that lifts have emergency call buttons?
Push button, help arrives. Much note efficient than ba ng on the door hoping someone will hear...

MadHattersWineParty · 20/02/2017 22:44

Even our shitty 1930's council-block lift has a call button in case you get stuck Grin

I'm not sure Leanne even took her tights off to have that baby.

DarkDarkNight · 20/02/2017 23:00

Flower It looks like Kate and Alya from the selfie in the pub beforehand. It's all so clumsy, they writers really lay it on thick.

Another one fed up of the unrealistic labour. Why the lazy tv cliches of waters breaking followed by the immediate ramping-up of contractions.

CoffeeCoffeeAndLotsOfIt · 20/02/2017 23:01

And where did the black and red blanket come from??

CoffeeCoffeeAndLotsOfIt · 20/02/2017 23:02

MrsBungle - she did yes
