I am hoping by the end of this thread Phelan will have disappeared, Anna and family will have moved away and someone will have remembered to book a babysitter for baby Jack.

Why would Eileen marry him so quickly after he lost all Jason's money?

I think Eileen and Phelan got back together when he was in hospital but didn;t tell anyone and just organised the wedding quickly. Load of rubbish anyway

I think Phelan has already buried the body - hence the camera panning down to his wedding shoes, covered in mud.

He can't have done that; it must take ages to dig a grave. The body must be hidden at the builders' yard. That's assuming Andy is dead. We don't know for sure yet.

I thought it was blood on his shoes? Maybe he's locked him up somewhere? If he's killed him he's got nobody to do his dirty work for him so he may as well have let him go to Portugal.

I've just been thinking about how they keep recycling the love interests -

Nick has been in love with Leanne (twice) and Carla
Peter has been in love with Leanne and Carla
Robert has had a fling with Carla and is now in love with Michelle
Steve has had a fling with Leanne and in love with Michelle

That means Nick and Peter now have to have a thing with Michelle and Robert with Leanne. What will the script writers do then?

Peter and Michelle had a thing already ages ago so we're sorted there. Also I think Nick has been in love with Leanne about 5 times now!

Also Steve and Robert both married to Tracey. So does Nick have to have a thing with Tracey too?

Oh no wait. Tracey's already slept with Nick hasn't she. And David!

would you really wear black to your own wedding, i think phelan would be good if they gave him proper thought out story lines instead of just throwing it all together

The scene in the bistro with Michelle getting drunk was cringey and almost unwatchable. She hasn't the acting skills to play someone drinking too much, and it was badly written anyway. Sadly, she is making viewers lose sympathy now.

One of the huge problems with the Michelle storyline is that she never mentions her other son (either the biological one or the swapped-at-birth one).

That, together with being hopeless at acting and being a generally unsympathetic character is making me not care at all about a storyline which should - if given to the right character and actress - be heartbreaking.

Yes, wouldn't she want to visit Ryan (would be good to write her out) imo.

She was out to lunch one minute and it was bloody dawn the next! Really, they walked ALL night in freezing temperatures and one coat and a pair of socks between them and didn't even look slightly chilly

Puzzled as to why Nick needed a taxi. Doesn't he have a car? I know Leanne does because she used it when she went Christmas shopping with Peter.

I'm still over us being expected to believe that Steph would think Andy had baled on her when she knew he was in the flat alone with the laptop and that Phelan knew they were leaving. She didn't even try to text him to warn him!

I don't imagine Michelle's 'best friend' Carla will show up for the baby's funeral . Wonder if her parents will, or if we'll be expected to believe they 'couldn't make it'......

i think both steve and michelle are crap actors and i would of thought that as michelle as been through this in rl , the emotions would of came naturally. i'm just not feeling it from her.
and yeah i agree about nick getting a taxi and steph not being worried about andy its daft. like i said up thread the story lines are just thrown together

I've got now I'm fast forwarding any time Michelle comes on. In light of the storyline the viewers sympathy should totally be with the character but Kim Marsh is such a crap actor it's almost impossible to find any empathy. She was on Loose Women the other week I wasn't sure if it was Kim or Michelle they were interviewing it was impossible to tell where one stopped and the other started. All those ridiculous faces she does on Corrie she does in rl too

As for the Phelan storylines to quote a well used mumsnet phrase are the writers on glue?? He started off as a bit of a dodgy builder taking cash in hand to avoid the books, getting stuff off the back of the lorry etc and now he's a total psychopath. Are the writers playing crime bingo with the character and seeing how many different crimes they can have him commit before he's caught

There's so much I could pick out about it, I often find myself shaking my head and laughing at the absurdity of it, but...

I watched for the first time in weeks on catch up this morning. I've been following this thread in lieu of watching as it all sounds so ludicrous. The scriptwriters are on crack. Seriously it's so bad. I watched Luke storming over to Andy's determined to "give him a good hiding". Phelen stops him en route and says oh you can't go into the flat because...the radiator is leaking. Don't worry, I'll send Andy your way" Determined Luke just accepts this walks off! So crap.

Cathy owns a massive leafy house. Why is she suddenly broke? She wasn't working when Roy met her.

Cathy feels too awkward to work with Roy since she found out he didn't really want to marry her, Symphony
