Time for a new thread.

I am hoping by the end of this thread Phelan will have disappeared, Anna and family will have moved away and someone will have remembered to book a babysitter for baby Jack.

She's changed because people believe in her - Rita, Chesney and Dev. A good news story for once!

Clawdy · 10/01/2017 11:54

Yes, she has gone from being a sullen grim member of a gang of lowlifes, to a sweet cheerful little thing, loved by everyone! The writers did a similar thing with Becky.

Optimist1 · 10/01/2017 12:39

And Kylie!

Clawdy · 10/01/2017 17:42

Of course! Forgot that. She became the perfect mum!

deloresclaiborne · 10/01/2017 18:13

did anyone notice how kens son , daniel was looking at sinead in the chippy, i think theres an affair on the cards.
toyah and peter dont look right together theres no chemistry

TreeTop7 · 10/01/2017 18:47

The scuzzy Battersby and Windas families were also rehabilitated whilst on the Street. Wasn't Tyrone an illiterate tearaway at 15, too? Now he runs a business and is super-straight.

I think that Daniel will chase Sinead and that she'll feel flattered that a clever man is interested in her. Yes, an affair for sure. Poor Ches.

I agree about the lack of chemistry between Toyah and Peter. He had the same problem with Tina imo, when they were supposed to be besotted with each other.

I wish Phelan would hurry up and die or disappear. Great actor, tedious storyline.

eddiemairswife · 10/01/2017 19:26

Both Leanne and Anna haven't lost their 'scuzziness'. They both sound like fishwives when they lose their tempers.

Akire · 10/01/2017 20:15

Have Corrie and EastEnders scriptwriters been set the same homework this week? 'Compose a set of storylines involving a baby shower (element of who's the daddy optional) and a small business owner getting into financial difficulties to help a hospitalised uninsured relative abroad'.

Oh yes Brecon down to needing £14k for costs! And baby shower on a Monday, though least in EE she's due snyday. Why would you have baby shower so early when baby not reached 24weeks cut off yet. Bad taste!

Why did chez not want to go out? He's not partying type mind is he. Something has to be done to both their story lines. Ditto Izzy not even had a grumble since she's been back.

dawnmist · 10/01/2017 21:39

We were supposed to believe that the Windasses were one of the hardest families in Manchester. Confused

Housewife2010 · 10/01/2017 21:56

Why does everything cost 14k? Weren't the flat deposits 14k? Didn't the machinery for Alya's vintage pants cost 14k? Now Rawzie's hospital bills cost 14k. Why pay it? Let her earn it back by wandering around her U.S. hospital with her clipboard. Have I imagined the constant 14k? Also, I remember when Toyah was always a bit dim. I loved Gemma's bottles in her fat pants and the line about all the baby showers when she was in year 9. Sex Ed began in year 10!

thenightsky · 10/01/2017 22:02

I cannot find it in me to believe that a woman as supposedly as sensible as Rawsie would go to the US without travel insurance Shock

thenightsky · 10/01/2017 22:02

Sorry... getting my Rawsies and Sawfies mixed up I think Grin

Housewife2010 · 10/01/2017 22:49

Me too.

ellenanora5 · 11/01/2017 09:22

Housewife I loved that line aswell, I really like Gemma now, she's come on great since they gave her own part instead of being Callums sidekick, she was useless then, but mind you so was he, terrible actor and most unconvincing baddie ever.

Clawdy · 11/01/2017 20:09

The Michelle-Steve baby loss scenes were harrowing and heartbreaking, but for me, the shrieking and loudness spoilt it to some extent, and the last, quiet scenes were far more affecting and felt more real.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 11/01/2017 20:35

I found tonight's very sad but I struggle to find empathy for Michelle because Kym Marsh is always "Kym Marsh pretending to be Michelle". She is hopeless as an actress and I can't believe in the character at all. Steve was very good as usual.

Gosh that was harrowing.

ellenanora5 · 11/01/2017 21:31

I thought they both did very well, considering it mirrors real life experience for them, I was sobbing at the end, it's a long time since corrie made me feel anything except unbelief at the ridiculous storylines so its good to see tonight that it may be getting back on track.

But and its a big but, when it comes out about Leanne's baby I hope they don't shove Tracy in giving her tuppence worth and sarcasm about it all, she really ruins every scene so best to send her on a big floral conference somewhere very far far away (never to come back)

blackbunny · 11/01/2017 22:12

I've not watched for weeks, I just wanted to ask- who knows Leanne's baby is Steve's?

magentastardust · 11/01/2017 22:17

Just Nick & Liz I think?

HesterLee · 11/01/2017 23:31

Those scenes must have been really difficult for Kym Marsh to do considering what happened in real life. Poor thing.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 12/01/2017 00:40

I didn't realise until I saw on another thread that Simon Gregson's wife has had 11 miscarriages including one at 21 weeks just like Kym Marsh. Sad

Ledkr · 12/01/2017 09:04

God I'm amazed they agreed to do that storyline!
How awful fur them both. Maybe they found it cathartic in some way
I thought it was done well though which I guess is hardly surprising Sad

ProfYaffle · 12/01/2017 12:27

It caught me by surprise how upsetting I found it. I also don't know how the actors managed to do it, it was just so raw.
