Time for a new thread.

I am hoping by the end of this thread Phelan will have disappeared, Anna and family will have moved away and someone will have remembered to book a babysitter for baby Jack.

It's all very amusing to me , absolutely love that leeanne was discharged from hospital at 1am 😄 I've always loathed Simon , never thought he was cute and why is he so regional accent wise? Hmm
The Mary thing was fucking ridiculous as if you'd go New Year's Eve?? Or not for a holiday first Hmmlove it Grin

Wishfulmakeupping · 02/01/2017 11:38

Empress Steve was negative for myotonic dystrophy so he can't pass it on to either child.
How young do Peter and Michelle look on that picture?!

mollie123 · 02/01/2017 12:11

so - the hopes that the new woman at the helm at Corrie are well and truly dashed - quelle surprise Shock
I knew it would probably get worse given the history of the new'team' and sure enough story lines have to involve 'issues' rather than characters and appalling scripts are given to some very bad actors (and actresses) but a return to the 'old' days of characters like Stan and Hilda would never happen as they are 'history' and not entertaining enough.
My take on this - either corrie goes for a laugh a minute, sheer idiocy of Neighbours and provide us with entertainment or they bin it for good. Just IMO of course but I regret so much what it has become as a representation of 'is this the best soap opera we can produce?'
On a purely shallow note - how on earth did Jenny get into that red dress without help as it seemed to be zipped all the way down the back Shock

Wishfulmakeupping · 02/01/2017 13:21

Agreed the new boss has made a impact but for all the wrong reasons I genuinely thought it couldn't get any worse apparently I was wrong.

JustDanceAddict · 02/01/2017 13:53

My late mum, who was a big Corrie fan all through the 80s & 90s would be turning in her grave with this drivel!!

SymphonyofShadows · 02/01/2017 15:09

Has Andy left now? I was only half watching the last one but I heard him tell Steph how great she was so assumed he was going to scarper. I wish they would put Phelan out of our misery.

MadHattersWineParty · 02/01/2017 15:25

Yeah, the exit was quite 'Hollyoaks' I thought- the music and the montage of the NYE celebrations.

So many chances to knock Anna off and she keeps going!

loinnir · 02/01/2017 16:50

Sadly Andy has not quite left - Steph caught him as she came back to the flat.

As for Mary - like others have said- why?? Couldn't she go for a holiday and come back in a month or so. No one in Corrie ever seems to have trouble finding money for plane tickets or worries about not getting a refund (emigrations to the Carribean etc)

eddiemairswife · 02/01/2017 17:19

If that's the end of the Mary story then it was a complete and utter waste of time. There seem to be too many stories started and not followed through to a realistic conclusion. And for goodness sake Andy STOP DITHERING AND GO.

bringbacksideburns · 02/01/2017 19:59

It's gone so downhill , Christmas has been particularly shite. It's hard to care about any of the characters these days.

Sick to death of spineless Andy - yawn. I also don't know why Phelan knew he was the one who hit him.
The Steve baby storyline is ridiculous - we are supposed to believe they lept into bed having had no hint of attraction before and are living across the road from each other,
Watched Eastenders last night and Wow - never really watch it but the ending was very well done.
Corrie need to reduce their episodes - more does not mean better.
I could write better storylines than these overpaid wazzocks.

Is there a link to all the spoilers - not just EE?

MadHattersWineParty · 02/01/2017 20:20

OH MY GOD ANDY DIDN'T ACTUALLY LEAVE.

Ffs Confused

woodhill · 02/01/2017 20:36

Why didn't Kevin lock up after Phelan had left. Sick of him and ripping people off.

Xmaslover · 02/01/2017 20:36

Is anyone else laughing at Andy's angry face and twitchy eyes (smile)

southeastdweller · 02/01/2017 22:27

So Toyah's been working as a drugs counsellor in Liverpool. Do you all think that......wait for it......a similar position may suddenly become available very soon at the surgery? Wink

dawnmist · 02/01/2017 22:44

The idea of Toyah councilling anyone makes me laugh, and what does she mean asking Liz "is there any shifts going" ....err aren't you supposed to apply for a job as barmaid first. You'd only asked for a "shift" if you actually already worked there. No doubt though she'll get her "shifts" by next week.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 02/01/2017 22:54

It just gets worse.

If Phelan fixed your door you would think he may have kept a key or might pull a fast one. No way would you let him let himself out without bolting the door behind him.

The whole factory ownership storyline is ridiculous.

Simon gets worse every day.

Why would Leanne give a monkey's bum if Toyah is going out with Peter?

Billy is beyond tiresome.

Very very close to abandoning it now.

OP posts:
MadHattersWineParty · 02/01/2017 23:10

Billy is by far the most annoying one on there now and that's saying something.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 02/01/2017 23:44

Anne I wouldn't be too impressed if my sister started going out with my ex husband who cheated on me with my best friend! What is Toyah thinking?

Had forgotten that stuff about Maria and Toyah's ex as well.

CorporalNobbyNobbs · 02/01/2017 23:45

Had to skip half of tonight's. that stuff with the homeless wallet thief zzZzzzzzzzz

Sillysausage123 · 02/01/2017 23:46

I guarantee homeless thief and David will become an item

MadHattersWineParty · 02/01/2017 23:52

Isn't it just really boringly similar to Maddie stealing the bag and Sophie trying to help and then they became an item. So tedious.

ScruffyTheJanitor · 03/01/2017 00:13

Oh the 12 stories in corrie, always seem to be:
12: Youngsters preggers
11: Pensioners dating
10: Pantomime baddies
9: long lost siblings
8: unlikely blackmails
7: sudden heart attacks
6: Tracey's bullshit
5: Nosey Norris's Listening.
4: Baldwin tossers
3: love triangles
2: corner shops
And a brain damaged restauranteur....

Grin
deloresclaiborne · 03/01/2017 06:10

who was toyahs ex that maria had an affair with
corrie as hit an all time low
billy chaseing homeless woman all over town cos he wants to save her, yep ok
kevin and anna leaving sleazy phelan to let himself out, yep that would deffinately happen
mary going to south africa with estranged son all sorted in less than a fortnight
but on a lighter note norris reminds me of the old man in the film up

Olddear · 03/01/2017 06:43

Mystic Meg here. I said upthread Toyah would end up working in the Rovers! I've stopped watching now. I'll catch up in a few weeks..... it's really grim.

dawnmist · 03/01/2017 08:43

Coronation St, the only street in Britain where you will immediately get a job, either in the pub, factory or corner shop. No experience required for any of these jobs either. No need to worry about accommodation, if the flat over the shop or the cafe isn't available you can move into Eileen's, she always has a bedroom to spare.

Not a safe street to live on though, the odds of being murdered, kidnapped or caught in an explosion are the highest in Britain.
