I am hoping by the end of this thread Phelan will have disappeared, Anna and family will have moved away and someone will have remembered to book a babysitter for baby Jack.

I'm really getting tired of Bethany and Sarah. Everything has to be a big drama all the time, and when they're in a scene together they don't look believable as mother and daughter, more like sisters.

Seagaze you are right. There something wrong with Bethany because she only ever wants the men her mum is dating. She looks older than 17 too. What is it with corrie redoing storylines again and again sometimes only months apart. Groundhog day with Sarah Bethany - phelan Andy- Andy stealing from bistro (he did it to pay gavin too) - anna being off with Kevin - leanne nick Peter triangle - Steve and affairs...... give us something new ffs.

Someone up thread mentioned the tribute to Hilda Ogden on Tv recently. I watched it yesterday. There was a scene with Annie Walker visiting Hilda in her home, and she asked Hilda if she'd mind not having to face the huge mural because it made her dizzy. It was just the expression on her face and Hilda's pride in it, so watchable. Most scenes in Corrie were like that, so understated but believable and funny. That's what made Corrie great, little scenes like that, with actors who could actually ACT. No need for murders, blackmail, fires, kidnaps or any of the other stupid dramas they expect us to enjoy and believe .....Note to Corrie bosses WE DONT.

The situation with Billy and the church is getting more and more ridiculous. I hope the bishop sees sense and tells him that he can't just return at a whim, and perhaps needs a long breathing space (on a remote island?), before changing his present status.

delores I was also confused, I can't seem to follow what's happening at the moment. I find it so unbelievable that Mary's son would ask who is essentially a stranger to move back with them.
I also don't know whether I've got this right, but the girl who Billy took home for Xmas dinner, is she the same girl who stole David's wallet the other week? Then was also in the tanning shop with the bloke who found Bethany?
Agree that the Billy vicar storyline is ridiculous. And what's the Sophie having her appendix out all about? Just a way of keeping her written out for a bit longer? Why on earth would anyone travel to USA with no medical insurance??

So, where will Toyah get a job? I guess The Rovers...

There's something odd about that place - is it a front for a brothel or similar? And the chap who found Bethany - does he work there? Was he a client? He's a bit creepy.

Where were Dev and whatsherface when Mary was (a) all alone and (b) announcing her departure to South Africa?

And where's Kathy disappeared to? Her house has tenants in it so where has she gone?

When is Leanne due? Toyah seemed to say it would be a few months. Leanne has a big bump, is walking like John Wayne and can't even walk out of the room without holding her back. She behaves as though bring pregnant is a major disability rather than a perfectly natural act that a woman's body is designed for. I've had two children and just got on with it.

To get back to Leanne... the actress has had a couple of children, and acted in Corrie until quite late in pregnancy and never walked like that, so why she's doing it now is beyond me.
