The only candidate I can think of is Toyah.

Wasn't Peter on the phone last night making a booking for himself and Miss Battersby? Has to be Toyah.

When Peter returned this time didn't he say he had been working on/delivering boats in the Northern parts of the country. This came to mind as I was thinking Liverpool and Portsmouth are hardly next door.

I'm assuming the mystery woman is toyah too, considering he is booking a room for him and miss battersby. Unless it's Janice.

Seems very unlikely that Maria wouldn't have received a suspended sentence - first offence, single parent with young child.

Agree Clawdy maybe a fine and some community service too. 1 year seems awfully long - it was clear it was not a "professional" money making operation. Are Kirk and Beth going to move into Maria's flat or will Liam be accommodated in the secret extra bedrooms that appear upstairs in their 2 up 2 down when needed?
