New shinny thread here!

OP posts:
LineyReborn · 19/12/2016 21:41

It's just crap now. Here are the six episodes of Christmas:

Lee's Loans and Whitney's tinkly laugh turning to wails of despair
Max coming back to shag Stacey and Martin's wails of despair
Jack marrying Ronnie and Jack's Flats burning down to wails of despair
Dot's Death and Patrick's wails of despair
Phil's survival to my wails of despair
Potato Baby being born and you get the picture

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 19/12/2016 21:56

Not a great prediction, Liney I'm sensing a 'Wails of Despair' theme. Xmas Sad

You forgot, Ben going off the rails with anger issues and smashing Phil's snazzy new armchair and Sharon's wails of despair when Phil finally snaps and tells her to stop stroking his bloody head.

Love the way we all call Denise's child Potato Baby, poor little Spud.

dingdongdigeridoo · 19/12/2016 22:34

I really couldn't see them killing off Phil. They're usually bringing people back from the dead for the nostalgia factor. Phil dying would leave a big hole in the show.

nancy75 · 19/12/2016 23:13

They won't kill off Phil, what's the point in the potato baby if they kill off potato daddy

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 19/12/2016 23:15

Perhaps they would replace the big Phil shaped hole with Grant? Confused

Just caught up with the episodes. I agree, they went all out on the cheese factor. wow.
Sweet little Ollie had definitely done that walking thing before Grin, it was less 'first steps', more of a brisk stroll with a bit of EastEnd swagger.

EnidButton · 19/12/2016 23:32

Dot and Phil deserve better than to die at the hands of the current producer. I hope he is kicked offgoes in the new year at some point and someone else takes over,

EnidButton · 19/12/2016 23:32

I don't think either of them will die btw.

MrsJayy · 19/12/2016 23:58

Ollie had a bitof a sprint going on there didn"t he Grin was the christmas lights just thecalm before the misery and wailing poor dot she just wants to be included stupid Ronnie and Jack,

MrsJayy · 19/12/2016 23:59

Btw What is the cat about?

OhTinky · 20/12/2016 00:07

Who is going to watch the play if they are all in the play?
What was the point of "Cassandra" as the original playwright?
What's the deal with the cat lurking round Dot's?
I am cringing so much at bex and shaki I have given myself a hernia...
Roll on 2017, hope eastenders sorts itself out, remember how good it was when it could advertise itself as "Eastenders. Everyone's talking about it."?!

Gingergin · 20/12/2016 00:16

Ugh shaki is so personality free, what a boring snooze! Bex could do much better.
I'm getting worried about the climax to the Lee and Whit story, I hope it isn't too miserable 😱
It's getting ridiculous now with Linda and hiding her bump behind random objects. Hope she goes soon!

HateSummer · 20/12/2016 00:38

Didn't get to the end again today. Yawn fest.

Donna and Roxy skiving off work is pissing me off majorly now. And how can this thick idiot never remember what time she needs to pick up her dd from school?

Whit and Linda talking today sounded like someone has been reading MN Christmas threads and decided to incorporate the "reasonable" things to say and do by DIL and MIL during Christmas.

I'm getting more drama on MN these days.

WomanFromAnotherPlace · 20/12/2016 05:47

Ugh, Whitney playing House again. Cue scenes of her slaving over a hot oven at Christmas while her drippy husband mopes about, head resting on palm.

There was something that really irked me about Ronnie saying to Dot 'have the operation, Jack and I will pay for it'. They never invite her over for dinner, haven't asked her once about her job and dump their kids on her all the time, without offer of pay. Yet they want to sling money at her for op? Ew, Jack and Ronnie all over. Pay for it until it goes away.

Iwantacampervan · 20/12/2016 06:44

Womanfromanotherplace

I think that's the point that Dot was making when she refused the money for the treatment - when Ronnie mentioned Christmas she initially thought they were going to ask her to spend time with them on the day.

Is the black cat Carmel's Craig? Still don't see the relevance though.

WomanFromAnotherPlace · 20/12/2016 07:19

campervan ah, I see. Poor Dot Sad

WomanFromAnotherPlace · 20/12/2016 07:20

In regards to the cat, I thought it was supposed to be an omen or something. Isn't there some superstition about black cats?

coolpotato · 20/12/2016 11:55

Where the frig is everyone expected to sit to eat at Whitney & Lees? On the bed, on the loo....?

MrsJayy · 20/12/2016 11:59

Cat isn't Craig Carmel was moaning about it coming into her house Drama Student Dd said cat is symbolism or some such nonsense. Soap news on this Morning was showing the christmas storylines cheery it is not.

coolpotato · 20/12/2016 12:01

There's a new trailer for Xmas and it looks quite dark. Actually makes it look like it's worth watching.

coolpotato · 20/12/2016 12:01

Dark as in sinister

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/12/2016 14:04

Amazing how ROXY forgets to pick up AMY

Poor BEX. Sex is hard to know if doing right ESP if seen giggling with a friend so shaki thinks laughing at them. Sure both were fine in the sack 😉 though my first time wasn't great, tho may be as didn't use a bed

And then dumped :(

The tree saga was silly but they meant well / and by the time gone from school it's dark by 4.30 so wouldn't be decorating in glorious daylight

Ollie obviously been walking for months .,,,,, 😬😬

And the award goes to Whitney for making poor Lee even more stressed

By paying for a huge xmas meal to feed 6 maybe 10

Linda mick Whitney Lee Jonny Ollie - so least 6 tho more then likely also be babe mum and sisters elf and all

So maybe 10 - where will they all sit and eat / let alone make the xmas lunch

EnidButton · 20/12/2016 14:10

Black cats are unlucky if they cross your path in the US and an omen of death.

Although in Britain they're supposed to be lucky, I think a lot of people get mixed up and remember the American superstition.

So I'm with your dd MrsJ. Which house was the cat outside and who was in it?

MrsJayy · 20/12/2016 14:13

Is whitney just living in whitney land I know her life has not been great but she is totally oblivious to everything

MrsJayy · 20/12/2016 14:15

Cat was outside Dots house ,

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 20/12/2016 14:32

I think Whitney left months ago and Lee has replaced her with a robot who always grins, believes any old shit coming out of her husband's mouth and never argues back. When the Whitbot needs charging she'll emit a tinkley laugh. Lee has kept her on the factory setting- Stepford wife.

She may short circuit on Christmas day trying to cook for 10 and her head will blow off.
