New shinny thread here!

OP posts:
ineedamoreadultieradult · 01/01/2017 22:52

Condensed it is very very hard if not impossible to drown you self without attaching weights to yourself or attaching yourself to something underwater your bodies fight or flight response wouldn't allow it.

FlowerOfTheValley · 01/01/2017 22:52

Very dramatic. Sad to see Roxy's character leave for good. It had more of a feel of a drama about it than a soap.

ALemonyPea · 01/01/2017 22:53

I've not watched EE since Danielle was killed off, really affected me for weeks that did. Had to read what happened, was hoping Ronnie would have a happy ending Sad

FlowerOfTheValley · 01/01/2017 22:53

Still not sure how Roxy drowned though.

Gwenhwyfar · 01/01/2017 22:54

"It's their mum you should feel sorry for losing both daughters !"

Glenda? She was lying when she told Ronnie she loved her.

CondensedMilkSarnies · 01/01/2017 22:57

Ineeda I did wonder . Maybe she dived into the shallow end and hit her head? Ronnie dived into the opposite (deep ?) end to Roxy .

Eminybob · 01/01/2017 22:58

I thought they were going to fall off the building. The drowning was unexpected and quite shocking.
I thought maybe they both got caught in a filter pipe or something until the end where they were floating. Chilling.

I'm a bit gutted that we couldn't see a Roxy and Max thing pan out actually. I'm a bit of a Max fan (Blush) and I thought they suited each other. It would have been fun to watch.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 01/01/2017 23:02

Cake, it's been bugging me who the lady was as she seems so familiar!

DearMrDilkington · 01/01/2017 23:07

Same Bob, I love max. I always loved him and Stacey together.

CondensedMilkSarnies · 01/01/2017 23:10

I've just watched it again and it looks like Roxy was still alive when Ronnie got to her , it looked like she was grabbing at her.

dingdongdigeridoo · 01/01/2017 23:11

I feel sorry for Glenda, but she is so awful! She knew about Ronnie's abuse and did nothing about it.

It's easy to drown when you're drunk. There was a 'don't drink and drown' campaign a few years ago. You basically lose your coordination while drinking and can't swim. If she was on drugs too then she'd be pretty out of it.

DeleteOrDecay · 01/01/2017 23:11

The end scene tonight was harrowing. Shame they couldn't get their happy ending but that's EE for you.

Really feel for Lee but can understand Mick's initial reaction although comments like that tend to stick so that won't help Lee in the long run. I too am surprised that absolutely no one has noticed how ill Lee has been over the past few weeks. It does highlight how mental illness can be so easily missed or even dismissed until it's too late though. People just don't pick up on it or acknowledge it like they would a physical illness.

DearMrDilkington · 01/01/2017 23:19

Ah, reading comments on ee Facebook page, a lot of people seem to think roxys' dress got caught in the vent at the bottom of the pool... Maybe that's what went wrong?

HateSummer · 01/01/2017 23:20

Well that was a sad ending. I didn't feel like crying though, I think I'm more angry that the producer thought it was a good idea to kill off 2 very popular Mitchell characters for one night of popular viewing. There's no getting out of this either is there. They're proper dead and gone.

Oh well. At least snivelling Lee will piss off too at some point. I can look forward to that.

DearMrDilkington · 01/01/2017 23:22

Or she could have had a heart attack when she jumped in from all the drugs and alcohol she's been taking..😶

YouHadMeAtCake · 01/01/2017 23:27

Snorlax The Bill! A few other things too.

www.imdb.com/name/nm0737176/

coolpotato · 01/01/2017 23:37

I didn't think Rocky too the cocaine. I think she found it in her purse, but everything was looking up (Ronnie happy, Ongar move going ahead, about to get jiggly wth Max etc), she decided against it and didn't take it. Hence Max finding it later on when he was waiting for Roxy.

But given they'd been drinking a shedload all day, that would be enough in itself.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 01/01/2017 23:43

Thanks Cake, I've just googled her & it's The Syndicate that I recognise her from. Wiki says this is her 2nd stint in EE as she was in it previously as a prostitute for Ian Beale.

gingina · 02/01/2017 00:20

I remembered something about Michelle living with a woman and maybe being gay and found this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Kominski
So maybe her and Tina will get it on??
The drowning was so sad. Nice to see a more real life wedding in EE - rather than all back to the Vic for one of Ian's awful looking buffets Grin and the dancing scenes of R&R were really good as was the fairytale part at the end.
I really like the new style - it's much better

bringbacksideburns · 02/01/2017 00:20

Didn't Max give her the cocaine?
It showed them dancing together and then he sort of patted her away.

I haven't really watched EE properly for years but I thought that was well done - very gothic.
I really thought Ronnie was going to fall off that bridge messing about though and then Roxy would have jumped in to save her.

HoHumming · 02/01/2017 00:22

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars Wilde?

The drama, I LOVED that episode. I retract everything some of what I said about the new producer. I love the yin/yang, the artiness,, linking life to art. I loved it. I was unsettled by it but thought it was an amazing and dramatic end for two long term actors. I will miss Roxy though.

I don't think she took drugs, she was going to but then didn't but did anyone think when she was driving the car to the wedding, the driver's view seemed blurry. I presume that was deliberate too. I thought the walker was going to step out in front of the car and they would crash. The Jack/Rose, the Cindrella slipper falling parallel to Ronnie's shoe. Just everything. I was blown away by the entire episode. It felt more like a drama, less like a tv soap.

gingina · 02/01/2017 00:23

That link was wrong
This is what I meant

Michelle moves in with Rachel Kominskii(Jacquetta Mayy), a lecturer who persuades Michelle to resume her studies and enroll at university. Michelle and Rachel become inseparable, and rumours about their sexuality prompt Michelle to start dating Clyde Tavernierr(Steven Woodcockk), a fellow single parent.

MrsJayy · 02/01/2017 00:51

Just watched it was a bit dramatic how could Roxy just drown no splashing i think it must have been the drugs and alcohol i think she died first . Snotty Lee just needs to hand himself in now

Empress13 · 02/01/2017 01:06

When they said 'don't look back' thought they were going to add 'in Ongar' (oasis) lol
