Spin away oh sequined ones...

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 27/11/2016 15:19

I thought they were going to tap them too and thought they would have to rugby tackle Craig to stop him tapping Ed on the shoulder before he'd danced a step :o

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 27/11/2016 15:41

OK, I watched that challenge back on YouTube and genuinely (not just because I'm a Danny fan) can't see why Louise won. To my inexperienced eye, Kevin looked to be having to do a fair bit of steering of her, and she lacked any oomph in her movements. Several of the others looked a lot better, actually.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 27/11/2016 15:50

I thought Claudia & AJ's AT was great fantastic choreography using her talent from her gymnastic training

Danny and Oti were great but he is trained dancer and has performed on stage he hasn't improved as well as others have so he shouldn't win I don't think he will

Love Ed but I think he will go

Have no idea how Louise won the Cha Cha dance off she is so passionless but has a partner that is a great choreographer

I want Claudia to win she has really improved through the weeks that's if Ed isn't in the finals

MrsJayy · 27/11/2016 16:28

Was really meh about last night I did like Robs rumba I hate it normally Danny was good as usual but dull gawd knows how Louise won the challenge KFG was doing all the dancing for both of them think a cliifton in the final again . I did like Ore and Joanne better. Think Ed should go tonight

MrsJayy · 27/11/2016 16:29

Claudia and Aj were my favourite of the night

Horsemad · 27/11/2016 16:30

Whilst I liked Claudia's AT, I do agree with Craig about the ganchos - they were a bit 'floppy' imo.

WouldHave · 27/11/2016 16:35

I think it was partly the use of the lifts and gymnastic moves that put me off Claudia's AT - it's too jerky and "Look at me" and not enough dance.

morningtoncrescent62 · 27/11/2016 16:54

Just caught up! Ringer he may be, but I loved Danny and Oti's dance. I thought the marking for Claudia was fair - yes, she did some absolutely amazing moves and did them very cleanly, but for me, the dance lacked the sensual interplay that the AT needs to have. And I couldn't help channelling Monkseal and wondering what Daddy Fragapane was making of it all.

I agree with pp that the show feels a bit as though it's gone off the boil this year. I thought perhaps it was just me - I've watched from the beginning (with the exception of Brucie's final two series when he got to be unbearable) so I thought perhaps I'd had enough. It just doesn't seem to be as much fun as it's been some years. I'm finding all the remaining celebs annoying in their own way - Ore with his permanent sadface is the worst, but the others aren't far behind. Perhaps a new head judge will revitalise the show next year.

MrsJamin · 27/11/2016 17:24

I think the series pacing has been off, so many were good to begin with, and so few have shown real progression, it feels like it should be the final already. I know when I'm not into a strictly series that much when I can't be bothered to watch It Takes Two. I really don't care to hear any of the remaining couples say any more about their dances, I just want to know who wins now and be done with it, which is unusual for me! It just peaked too soon.

QueenMortificado · 27/11/2016 17:30

I've really enjoyed this year! It doesn't really feel any different for me.

Although I really miss Kara and Artem and their amazing chemistry!

DiegeticMuch · 27/11/2016 17:40

I'm enjoying this series as much as the others, but I'm unusual in that I'm a newish recruit to SCD - I started watching it when Ann Widdecombe was involved, and became hooked. I didn't mind Bruce's ponderousness either. My interest wanes a little in December when there are so few couples left, but that's always been so; I'd rather miss the final than week one, Halloween or Blackpool.

I like Danny's personality and I adored that samba, but can't get excited about a trained dancer. For me, it's about untrained celebs getting better (or not, in Ann's case!) For that reason, I now favour some of the others.

bookbook · 27/11/2016 18:30

Right !
managed to see programme last night, while I was away. Just rubiish music/singers . What is going on there?
Dannys samba okay, but it was too over the top for me.
Loiuse - well, forgettable is what comes to mind.
Ed - not as entertaining as previous weeks
Ore - well, okay , but what did they do to that song, was distracted by it.
Claudia - definitely her best dance - and they didn't treat her like a teenager, so much better for it.
Rob Rinder - tricky to do a rumba, but I thought it was quite sweet , and so maybe not the right 'emotion'
So I suspect Ed and Rob Rinder in the dance off?
I can go and have a cup of tea, and come back for the results now :)

CaveMum · 27/11/2016 18:59

Right, we've done this a few times over the years so shall we post our Strictly Dream Playlist. I'll go first:

Rumba - Light My Fire - Will Young version
Cha Cha Cha - Lets Get Loud - JLo
Jive - Choo Choo Boogie
Paso Doble - Espana Cani (very traditional!)
Samba - Mas Que Nada - Sergio Mendez
Salsa - No Morira - DLG
Waltz - The Dark Waltz - Hayley Westerna
Quickstep - Pencil Full of Lead - Paolo Nutini
Foxtrot - Let There Be Love - Nat King Cole
Tango - anything by Gotan Project!
Argentine Tango - Santa Maria - Gotan Project
Viennese Waltz - Three Times a Lady
American Smooth - Ain't That a Kick in the Head (any Rat Pack version)

I don't really care for the Charleston!

bookbook · 27/11/2016 19:23

I only know about 3 of those ( I think.....) oh dear :)

QueenMortificado · 27/11/2016 19:23

GrouchyKiwi · 27/11/2016 19:25

Redcrayons · 27/11/2016 19:27
