As part 3 is full.

I'm having a day off due to illness, so am planning a re-watch from the beginning as have got used to the time switches that confused me at first. Quite looking forward to it - will pay extra attention to all things yellow, legs in fireplaces and anything else that you suggest. Probably cover my eyes at the drilla moment again though!

I thought the turtle was her –desperate to see the wider world, then plunging to her doom when she saw it and was overwhelmed by it.

MargotLovedTom · 04/12/2016 13:45

yummymummycleo in 2014 Gettrick recorded the conversation where the men discussed Iraq events. Stone made reference to 'the girls we had' or something like that. To me, Stone was also involved with the abuse of young girls and Gettrick was using this to blackmail him.

Missanneshirley · 04/12/2016 14:15

Someone up the thread mentioned Sophie's bloodied knuckles - I don't think they were from the rabbit were they? I wondered if she'd been complicit in abusing Alice towards the end?

SapphireStrange · 04/12/2016 14:23

Yes, I don't think the blood was from the hare either.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2016 14:34

i think in the car when reed and stone go to rescue driller, they have all had sex with girls, but didnt know their age, so possiblyunderage and that was tones guilt .....

I rewound that bit to make sure as I missed it the first time around - it was definitely from the rabbit/hare Gettrick shot, as he leaned down he put his bloody hand over hers and when he got up she looked at her hand to see what it was.

Missanneshirley · 04/12/2016 18:15

OK I missed that ! Phew !

SapphireStrange · 04/12/2016 18:22

Yes, I missed it too. Thanks!

Kr1stina · 04/12/2016 18:52

When Alice and Sophie were in the basement together, you could tell that they really loved and cared for each other. Alice got a kicking for trying to persuade gettrick to get medical help for Sophie.

I don't think either of them ever abused each other. Gettrick was jealous of their care for one another and that's why he divided them by treating one much better than the other ( relatively of course ) .

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2016 22:14

Do you think he loved Sophie more as got her preg?

Was he raping /sleeping with them both?

I'm assuming the nice pink room upstairs next to locked room was where lucy stayed when girls in basement

Do you think lucy was seperate from Sophie a lot?

DodoRevival · 04/12/2016 22:59

Wasn't there a case in America where three girls were taken, all three where raped but one was the favourite and was 'allowed' to have the baby - the non favourite was kicked in the stomach until she miscarried

shins · 05/12/2016 08:10

Yes, the Ariel Castro case. The abused girl remained estranged from the other two after their escape, it was really sad.

SapphireStrange · 05/12/2016 11:27

Blondes, I'm a bit muddled about the rooms too. Why have a basement AND two upstairs rooms? And were the rooms both locked/curtains drawn all the time? Did he move the girls about between them? It all seems quite complicated...

DodoRevival · 05/12/2016 18:35

But was there locks on both doors upstairs? Or was it just something decided was fact like Sophie bring pregnant when she was taken?

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/12/2016 19:01

saphire glad you agree with me 😇😇

Sure both doors upstairs had locks on them. Tho the left one more locks

Plus pink room Had small toddle bed in it

DodoRevival · 05/12/2016 19:08

I'd say then that the little girl lived upstairs (but locked into her room at night - when Adam was asleep) then Sophie and her locked upstairs in the other room with when Adam was out the house.

Possibly once she'd pretended to be Alice he trusted her more too, so she got to stay upstairs.

Or something like that.

DodoRevival · 05/12/2016 19:09

With Alice being in the basement always

GrumbleBumble · 05/12/2016 19:12

When they are "good girls" they are allowed upstairs when they are "bad girls" they go into basement. If they have nothing to lose/gain he can't control them but if being good gets a reward (proper bed in a proper bedroom or a trip out to a theme park or getting more food) then he manipulate them. If everything is equally and continually crap they might risk trying to escape or fightback.

Fiderer · 05/12/2016 19:12

I wondered about the doors as when Sophie came back after her Alice impersonation she and Lucy were in the blue (left) room with at least 3 locks on the outside. Moving to the room from the basement may well have been a reward for Sophie, it certainly freaked Gettrick out.

Even if Gettrick had removed the locks, sanded down or even changed the door, it was odd that we didn't see Baptiste look in there and only look in the pink Lucy room.

Yes, this bothered me too. Possibly more than it should. Grin

Fiderer · 06/12/2016 16:51

Sapphire I did post that we'd be on here for days asking "Why/what/when/who?" And "eh?"

I'm not done yet Grin
