SCD 2016 #7 - They're! In! Blackpool! The spiritual home of ballroom dancing, donkey rides, rock and... huge amounts of theming apparently?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 19/11/2016 15:55

The last thread is almost full, so I thought we'd be prepared.

Despite the title I do love the Blackpool week really Grin Fingers crossed for a nice ballroom dance from the pros.

Just barging in to say I'm going to the live show on Saturday!

TimTamTerrier · 22/11/2016 13:51

So Envy of Amber.

2kids2dogsnosense · 22/11/2016 14:37

But Greg also championed Ed

In an "he's done really well for a fat old man with two left feet" sort of way .

wannabestressfree · 22/11/2016 15:43

Inkanta that's a really unpleasant thing to write. He is a fab dad and I can skirt over most things but why write that? Close personal friends are you? They are just playing the game as all ' couples' do.... as they are contractually obliged too.
Mini G is my nephew as I have said so please keep your bullshit opinions to yourself. Your partner not work?
Some of you are hugely insecure. He is a nice bloke, practiced six days a week and they are both professionals. And one thing about Mrs G..... if she thought for one minute there was more to it than SHOW she would pixie kick him to the knackers. She is no ones 'spare part'.

GrouchyKiwi · 22/11/2016 15:50

she would pixie kick him to the knackers

AmberNectarine Have you been before, to the Elstree location especially? "Knowing" you from lurking on the S&B Vogue thread, I know you like your handbags, may I recommend you take one big enough for snacks.. there is a lot of waiting around, and nowhere really to get food. So from around 4.30 till after the results show filming around 10, all they give you is a kit-kat and a carton of juice after the live show. I couldn't have done it without a clutch bag full of peanuts!

PS Have fun, it's really fab being "inside" the telly for the night....!

acurtis1234 · 22/11/2016 16:42

wannabestressfree I totally agree and well done for speaking up. It all being for show and the way Natalie always is (I've met her) is what I meant in my previous post. This thread was quickly becoming derailed by gutter level gossip and rumour mongering, these are real people with families and children everyone!

I'd love to get back to lurking on all your thoughts on the dances, music and possible winners if that's ok, far more entertaining!!

Inkanta · 22/11/2016 16:43

'Inkanta that's a really unpleasant thing to write. He is a fab dad and I can skirt over most things but why write that?'

What is unpleasant? The fawning? I say what I see as have others.

AmberNectarine · 22/11/2016 16:45

acurtis I've not, I'm super excited - am staying at the Ibis in order to get up super early and queue for prime seats. Good tip re. handbag, I will size up! Have you been? Is it very glam?

mouldycheesefan · 22/11/2016 16:45

Are Greg and nathalie on the tour?Humiliating for his wife all this behaviour. Cringey. If Greg and nathalie don't get together in real life I would be surprised.

WouldHave · 22/11/2016 16:46

Inkanta, it's pointless saying that you "say what you see" when all you have seen is a tiny moment of their lives.

QueenMortificado · 22/11/2016 16:48

Mouldy why did you post that when Greg's own SIL is on this thread? Really disrespectful

Inkanta · 22/11/2016 16:50

And one thing about Mrs G..... if she thought for one minute there was more to it than SHOW she would pixie kick him to the knackers. She is no ones 'spare part'.'

Yes I would hope she would. She deserves a medal!

Redcrayons · 22/11/2016 16:52

Amber - I'm sooooo jealous. Please please come back on Sunday and tell us all about it (no spoilers obvs). Would your bigger handbag fit Alijaz in?

wannabestressfree · 22/11/2016 16:52

Do you know what..... she wouldn't thank me for this and probably be surprised I have bitten. I have asked mumsnet to delete my comments and if this is the closest you can go to 'les dawsonesq' bosum heaving gossip then fill your boots.
I know your wrong as I um actually know them not just gawp at the tv and make massive assumptions.
Don't let the actual truth get in the way eh.

mouldycheesefan · 22/11/2016 16:55

Firstly i didn't know gregs sil was on the thread secondly perhaps gregs sil could call him and tell him to rein it in its a bit nauseating when he is married to someone else.
I don't think sil will be shocked to see this it's common parlance currently that Greg and Natalie are the new Ben and kristina. Ben's wife thought it was all for show as well. Turns out, not so much.

Inkanta · 22/11/2016 16:57

'Inkanta, it's pointless saying that you "say what you see" when all you have seen is a tiny moment of their lives.'

I think the fawning was over the top. I have never seen other couples behave quite like that and actually I do think it looks disrespectful to their own partners. I have been a big fan of Natalie but I think she should have been more professional and not given way to her emotionalism. It's not just been a one off.

wannabestressfree · 22/11/2016 16:57

You can't argue with stupid....

QueenMortificado · 22/11/2016 16:59

Mouldy perhaps you could read the thread then rather than just jumping in. And with nasty comments at that.

mouldycheesefan · 22/11/2016 17:04

There are 33 pages on this thread 😂😂😂😂
I can join on page 33 and can discuss what they are discussing on page 33 which was Greg and Natalie fawning over eachother. It's a general strictly thread people, can say what the hell they want.
You are not the thread police! 🙄

Nothing being said here is not already being said on social media and in the press. Get a grip.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 22/11/2016 17:04

The dance partnership I know that is the most gushy/cuddly is one where they'll never go out, because he's gay. Greg's just unavailable in a different way Grin Although I suppose the couple I know don't inflict it on the nation (just all their dancing friends!).

OP posts:
YvaineStormhold · 22/11/2016 17:05

If people are deliberately behaving in a way which is meant to provoke comment, they can't really get upset when people comment, can they?

YvaineStormhold · 22/11/2016 17:07

If it's 'for show' - well, this is what the 'show' creates. Speculation and comment.

You might even be pissing on their chips by telling us it's not real, wannabe Grin

acurtis1234 · 22/11/2016 17:08

AmberNectarine I have, queueing does start early, mid afternoon I think, but unfortunately it won't really guarantee you prime seats, it's not first come first served. The big block opposite the judges is mainly all guests of the celebs, pros, invited celebs etc. The other prime seats and front rows usually get taken up by production staff tickets. If you've got a general public ticket, you'll most likely get the back rows or up on balcony. Unfortunately, you pretty much can't see any of the dancing from about two rows back, as the seats aren't tiered that much.

BUT, that all said....they do have some good seats they will need to fill, so you might get lucky, and the whole experience is just fantastic anyway. All the backstage, off camera stuff, before and after filming, it's true what the celebs say when they leave, everyone from the runners, production staff up to Claud and Tess are professionals and amazing from start to finish, on and off camera.

Glam wise, well dress code yes, definitely but wear heels you can walk and queue in. It's on an industrial estate and there's a walk down hill to the porta cabin loos. The dress code and the show itself where the glam starts and finishes!

mouldycheesefan · 22/11/2016 17:11

None of the other dancers and their partners are behaving like this so it's bound to attract comment. If they don't like the speculation, they could just stop doing it. Simples. Their choice. If gregs fsmily are hacked off it's for them to tell him that not ban discussion online. 🙄
