ilove that looks amazing!!!!!
Thank you much better day... I've already had 3 cups of tea at work which always makes it better.
Sometimes I look at BA photos and he looks quite vulnerable and others very confident and knowing exactly what look to give... e.g. Lib bite Smile

Richtea19 · 12/01/2017 17:01

Wow ilove that cake looks amazing. You can't beat a classic victoria sandwich.

The snow has just started, told DS i wasn't going to take him to the athletics track, stupid boy is going to get a bus. He won't listen!!

pixieg1rl · 12/01/2017 20:08

Only a light dusting of snow here, and melting quickly. It's going to be interesting when it freezes overnight Confused

MaddieMoo82 · 12/01/2017 20:16

None here just a standard of rain rain and more rain.

Ilovelblue · 12/01/2017 22:48

Very light covering of snow here but it's now turned to sleet and can't imagine it should cause any problems tomorrow really. I did see the gritters out on my way home.

I had tea out with a friend straight after work, came home and promptly fell asleep. I only had mineral water to drink as well. It was a place I'd not been to before and it was really good value at £15 for two courses. Very impressed.

Ilovelblue · 13/01/2017 07:42

Morning all. Anyone snowed in? There's a bit here but nothing to worry about though the wind is pretty strong at the moment.

KeziaOAP · 13/01/2017 08:15

Covering of snow here, shopping will be delayed until later.

Richtea19 · 13/01/2017 10:22

I managed to get to work. DH put grit down last night from our drive to the main road (we are on an unmade road) once I was on the main road it was fine. Our council have a snow friend scheme which we joined. If your road is off the beaten track and they can't grit they deliver salt/grit to you.

The boys school is open much to their disappointment!!

Nickel45 · 13/01/2017 21:30

Really icy here, but not much snow, despite the warnings!

Watching Tina and Bobby, really wanted to enjoy it, but why, oh why, isn't MK at least attempting an Essex accent, she wasn't a northerner. Aargh!

Ilovelblue · 13/01/2017 22:49

I've recorded it Nickel. Is it worth watching or not? I saw a brief 5 mins when Bobby was in hospital but that's all.

The snow we had, such as it was, had more or less gone by this morning and caused no traffic problems thankfully but 30 miles further south and it was quite bad in parts. It was very windy this morning though and a trug basket of compost I'd left by the back door and forgotten about at the weekend blew over but it was wet through so there was a real mess to sweep up. Nothing like the people on the east coast have been struggling with though - we are generally quite lucky up here. The floods last Christmas were an exception.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

TRish47 · 14/01/2017 05:35

It is so hot over here that I am beginning to wish for some snow! At least when your cold you can put extra clothing on. I am at the stage where there is little left to take off.Grin
Loving the new pics of BA he definitely is eye candy. Will any of you ladies go to see him in his new play?
At last we have Series 2 of OG starting next week. I have only seen snippets on You Tube, so I will be glued to the TV 📺 on Moday evenings.
Take care ladies, try and keep warm and safe
I love the snow but loath it when it turns to slush. Goodnight everyone xxx

Nickel45 · 14/01/2017 08:53

I had to turn it off ilove coz the accent annoyed me. But have recorded it and will give it another go, when the kids aren't in and out all the time. It was good other than that so far. My dad grew up round the corner from her, and knew her as kids, when she was just Tina Dean, she was a definitely Essex girl, I just need to ignore the accent!!!

Nickel45 · 14/01/2017 08:54

Enjoy S2 trish, you'll have to let us know what you think. Do you get the full episodes or do they cut stuff out? I can't remember if they did for S1 out your way, or if it was just in Europe?

Ilovelblue · 14/01/2017 20:05

Enjoy it Trish. My advice would not to try to compare with the first series as it's totally different and if you try to compare it, you may be disappointed. I really enjoyed it and have watched it once or twice or more since but I didn''t try to compare the two really. And CJ is still delicious.

Nickel I've watched Tina and Bobby now. I can see what you mean about the accent but as I know so little about Bobby Moore (other than the 1966 World Cup), it wouldn't have dawned on me about the accent if you hadn't said. I hadn't appreciated that they were the Beckhams or Rooneys of their era. My one criticism was how they met and married within about two or three scenes! Quick work eh? I had to laugh when MK/Tina was hoovering up after they had moved into their new house as we had a hoover exactly the same when I was growing up!

Been busy today with washing, a bike ride and lots of gardening. I think my sciatica is now sorted, judging by the amount of kneeling and bending I've managed to do.

MaddieMoo82 · 15/01/2017 08:00

Morning all. Hope everyone's having a good weekend.
Hope you enjoy series 2 trish. Must admit I enjoyed it but haven't got round to properly watching it again, just watch a few lovely cj clips to get my fix Grin

Didn't watch Tina and bobby, not really my cup of tea. Tried to watch the second one of taboo but fell asleep on the sofa! Poor show really.

Glad your sciatica is better ilove. Desperately need to get out in the garden but we have had an awful lot of rain so haven't had a chance.

Am at work but feel like death as ds has croup again, and spent most of the night in our bed bless him Sad

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Rhubarb01 · 15/01/2017 19:23

Evening! Hope you've all had a good weekend. Nothing very exciting to report from Lechley Park. There was a bit of a Friday 13th vibe going around, however, on Friday. Not only did we have a crash of the computer system we completely rely on at work for the entire day but I went to a supermarket nearby after work to pick up a few bits and used their cash machine which also threw a wobbly on me and ended up debiting my account but not giving me any money. I've been assured by my bank that it should be refunded by Monday pm but I'm waiting to see. The man at the bank said there had been a few problems with cash machines on Friday - cyber attacks do you think? Hmm

Had a lightening visit to Birmingham on Saturday with DD to discover they had snow up there (not much I grant you and as soon as we appeared it promptly rained - we seem to have that effect). Apart from that I have done a little bit of baking today as I am rather stupidly enthused by the acquisition of a big glass-domed cake saver I bought and I feel the need to have it on display and fill it up with lovely home-made items - some sort of sad urge to look like a good homemaker!

I didn't watch Tina and Bobby, partly because I forgot and partly because I'm not particularly interested but I read the comments on the Tina and Bobby thread and most seem to have commented on her strange accent. A few others were passing comments about MK being too well-groomed. Sounds familiar, doesn't it. At least TG worked with the Manchester accent. Perhaps she just needed some work with a vocal coach to perfect it.

I expect I'll watch Endeavour again tonight as it starts before Sherlock. I only caught up on Sherlock yesterday because the New Year's Day episode put me off a bit. However, it was a lot better so I'll probably watch the last episode tomorrow.

Have a good week everyone!

Ilovelblue · 15/01/2017 20:13

I'm quite fond of baking Rhu as you know and I took a cake to work last Thursday to use up some ingredients (I put the picture on here for Maddie). I have my favourites who I offer the cakes to but one was off ill and two were on diets so the remaining slices I took into a regular meeting we have over a lunchtime on Thursdays. One guy asked if it was home made - I said that if he had to ask, he wasn't worthy of my cake. I don't think he is very discerning - he's the type who would hoover up any free food, whatever its provenance.

I love your update. No wonder you've been quiet for a few days!

I'm not sure about the too well-groomed comments for MK as Tina. She was a WAG of her day and her fellow WAGs she met up with seemed to be dressed in a similar fashion as far as I could tell?

I've been on a bit of a shopping spree today. I went to a big outlet centre with my friend whose Mum is in hospital and it was meant as a change of scenery for her. All I really wanted was a new pan and some gloves but ended up with a dress and some towels on impulse too. I don't need either but they were reasonably priced and buying towels is a weakness of mine. It had poured down on the way there and coming back there was quite thick fog. Nothing much back home fortunately though it had rained hard by the looks of it.

What has everyone else been up to?

Richtea19 · 15/01/2017 20:35

I haven't baked for ages (other than Christmas cakes), I have been cooking though. I am trying so hard to be healthy so I made a Super Green soup and a Beetroot Soup. They are "ok" but need plenty of seasoning! I made a butternut squash and mushroom risotto last night, complaints from the boys "where's the meat". They picked over it and then cooked pizzas. I give up!

I haven't watched TIna and Bobby yet. I will watch but when I've boning else to watch when I'm ironing! I don't like the idea that accent is wrong and just not really keen on the bio pic programs.

Going to watch Sherlock tonight if I can stay awake.

Ilovelblue · 15/01/2017 20:59

Pretty soul destroying Rich when you've slaved over a hot stove.....? I always find risotto difficult to make so I'd come round and eat yours if your boys don't like it. I think I don't stay with it and stir constantly. It's one of the few things I buy - Tesco do a very good pea and asparagus one.

Nickel45 · 15/01/2017 21:58

Me either had a wet miserable day today over here. It's just been one of "those" days. Left early to get to a football match DS was playing in, about 45 mins away. He doesn't usually play as we have church, but let him this week. Got there, to find out it had been called off. Ugh. Spent the day going round the town near where the game was, but most stuff was shut, and it rained ... All the time!!! Kids not impressed, DH grumpy, so fun all round!! DS and I went to see Fantastic Beasts tonight though, which was brilliant. Thought we'd miss that too, as were stuck in motorway traffic, due to a lorry fire, but luckily got there just in time phew. Great film though, can't wait for the next one! So, this week is getting better from now on, hopefully!

pixieg1rl · 15/01/2017 22:55

I spent most of Sherlock pulling this face 😩. It seemed really self indulgent hoo-ha, but I'm not a particularly big Sherlock fan.

I need to get baking this week. Son's birthday party at the weekend and I've promised him a Pokémon cake. Lots of work and party prep to do this week. It's going to be stressful.

moojangles · 16/01/2017 21:25

Hope today went better nickel! Did you get a plan for the party pixie?
Def going to give Tina and Bobby a miss, heard the iffy accents and don't have the willingness to cope with that. Do watch Endeavour, enjoyable and get my geek on trying to spot wher it's filmed. Find Sherlock far too annoying.
funding
ilove, can you do a virtual cake regulalry, looked sooo good!

Ilovelblue · 16/01/2017 22:45

Evening all.

I've had an exhausting evening - mentally that is - as my 79 year old neighbour is having problems as his 81 year old "girlfriend" has done a bunk. She'd told him she was moving at Easter to live near her son in the Midlands but there's been radio silence since at least a week before Christmas and he discovered yesterday that she's moved. Poor guy can't see that he's been taken for a ride for the past few years (they are both widowed). I've heard most of the story before but had to sit and listen to it again - I'd only bobbed round to give him some ham (the Nigella recipe) I'd done tonight. He'll have to get a grip or start telling somebody else. Not sure my patience can take much more of it!

mooj I do enjoy baking but my repertoire isn't extensive. I know what I am good at and don't often go beyond those recipes.

My friend's Mum is 90 in a few weeks and I think instead of a present, I might offer her afternoon tea at Ilove Towers.

Rhubarb01 · 16/01/2017 22:45

Evening. Not much to report, apparently it's Blue Monday today. I always thought that was related to the issue of credit card bills after Christmas but maybe it's just a depressing date - still it will be somebody's birthday so someone will be happy. (t'internet says Kate Moss)

Haven't watched Sherlock yet as I was watching The Halcyon but it's pretty predictable and when you can fiddle around doing other things at the same time without losing the plot then I think the word 'undemanding' is appropriate.

Hoping for some OG news soon. Would be good to have something to mull over.

Ilovelblue · 17/01/2017 22:34

Very quiet on here today. I've been booking holidays and hotels tonight - yay! Sure way to beat the January blues. Did seem to spend a lot of time on the phone though and various websites. What did we do without the internet?

A less exciting evening tomorrow as I have to take one of my cats to the vet for his annual booster. The surgery has moved about a mile down the road into new, purpose built premises. What's the bet their prices will have gone up to pay for it?

I agree with you Rhu that it would be nice to have some snippets of OG news. Is it March they're supposed to start filming?

ice you're usually the one with your ear to the ground on intel of this sort?
