I think it should be Ed and the judge in the bottom two and that would be fair. I think Ed was a bit less entertaining this week and that might count against him. Of the three top dancers I prefer Louise and Kevin to the other two. I bet the producers would love to see Kevin versus Joanne Clifton in the final, though.

Richtea19 · 26/11/2016 21:23

Been out to today/tonight so will catch up with SCD when I'm home, although have enjoyed your commentary. Did have a sneak peek at DMail app and they mentioned Danny and Oti and their score. pix love your Ken Doll comparison !

Routing for Louise, but then that's probably because of Kev.

Had a lovely afternoon. DH and I had an afternoon tea in London (a present from his 50th) and then we went to Fortnum and Mason to the wine bar. Seriously my favourite bar. It's in the wine cellar and very cosy! Might suffer tomorrow!!

ilove loved your garden photos with ginger puss! X X X

For any cat lover out there who isn't friends with me on Facebook, this the cat Rich means:

Sounds as if you had a great afternoon Rich and what a lovely present it was!

Richtea19 · 26/11/2016 22:03

Such a handsome boy!

Rhubarb01 · 26/11/2016 22:08

He looks like my neighbour's cat ilove. Wouldn't that be hilarious - although I am pretty certain that you aren't my next door neighbour.

Ilovelblue · 26/11/2016 22:17

Haha. I think we might already have established that you are in the south west and I am in the north west. You definitely aren't my next door neighbour unless you are a nurse married to a bit of a dipstick or a 79 year old man? Mind you, the cats' father may have travelled around a bit .....?

Rhubarb01 · 26/11/2016 23:22

Oh dear I think I've blown my cover with one thoughtless remark. I thought my dipstick act was working well....?

Seriously, though, who knows, as far as feline genealogy goes it could be distinctly possible the cats are related.

Rhubarb01 · 26/11/2016 23:25

I am currently and rather inanely tittering to 'Carry on Henry' on ITV and sincerely missing woof as it is a rich source of material.

Ilovelblue · 26/11/2016 23:40

Do you think woof has fallen out with us?

Rhubarb01 · 26/11/2016 23:56

I thought she admired Elvis'..ahem...attributes enough to overcome any other shortcomings in series two and there is still hope that CJ might have a big part in series 3.Gin

Rhubarb01 · 26/11/2016 23:57

Ha ha - looks like I've done the classic MN mistake of quoting 'gin' Grin

Ilovelblue · 27/11/2016 09:16

I didn't think woof would give up so easily really. There was still plenty of Elvis and CJ to drool over, even if the storyline wasn't quite what we thought it could be. Maybe she's been taken hostage by Poldark???

Ilovelblue · 27/11/2016 09:20

Off for lunch in the Lakes today. It's the anniversary of when my Dad died and I always try to mark it when I can. Where we are eating was one of his favourite places. If the weather is good, there will be some good views of the lake. You do wonder where the time has gone as it's 9 years ago.

Rhubarb01 · 27/11/2016 09:23

Morning - they are currently filming series 3 of Poldark so it's distinctly possible that 'Darkie' is being 'exercised' a lot at the moment.

Rhubarb01 · 27/11/2016 09:24

Hope you have a good day ilove and it brings back happy memories.

KeziaOAP · 27/11/2016 15:26

Beautiful cat ilove . I have two house cats both thorroughly lazy until evening then it's playtime!

Undecided what to make for pud today went with ginger and apple cake, delicious warm with apple icecream.

Half watched SCD, rooting for Louise and Claudia to go through, hoping Ed is eliminated.

Richtea19 · 27/11/2016 19:27

kezia that cake sounds scrummy and with ice cream.

ilove hope you've had a good lunch and had some fond memories. My mum has been gone 8 years and never gets easy.

I've been to a Christmas fair at Chartwell (Nat trust) this afternoon. A lot of hand crafted toot but lovely Nat trust shop. I went with my friend and her daughter (she's 7 and full of beans). Just had a lovely early roast dinner with them and now PJs and SCD results....

MaddieMoo82 · 27/11/2016 19:47

rich is right kezia that cake does sound lovely!!! And apple icecream?... yum!
Day just me, ds and the dog as MrMads was competing in a football tournament in Exeter which finished about 1pm.... just phoned him and he was trying to negotiate the self service ticket machine at the train station after a little 'afters' once the football finished... Hmm
Anyho tidying up for me after my small person has ransacked the downstairs!

pixieg1rl · 27/11/2016 19:57

Quiet weekend here. Little one is under the weather (comedy squeaky losing his voice though). We've been stuck inside for 2 days watching too much CBeebies and playing board games or doing jigsaws. We were not well enough to see MIL who is still in the middle of chemo so MrP went to hers this afternoon.

Braced for a cold week. Luckily I'm not someone who has loads of tender plants that need nurturing. If a plant can't survive in my garden without protection then I don't have it.

Hope you had a good day ilove, enjoying the memories.

Ilovelblue · 27/11/2016 20:08

Evening everyone.

It was a nice day thank you and the memories do get easier as time rolls on. At first, it's all quite raw I suppose. It's a lovely hotel (have stayed there two or three times) and the lunches are excellent. An added bonus was that they had a half price offer on the menu (Sunday lunch is normally around £26). It wasn't advertised and we didn't quite understand at first when the manager explained it as it wasn't written on the menu either. We still paid full price for drinks but it was a very pleasant surprise.

I went up there with my friend whose father is very ill and part of our conversation was a little delicate, a little difficult to know how to respond to at times. I guess you don't need much imagination to work that one out. However, overall it was a pretty good day.

Kezia sounds a lovely pud - and I definitely like the sound of the ice cream? Is it a bought one (and if so where from) or one you made?

Supposed to be frosty here again overnight. We saw several gritters out on our way back from the Lakes.

Ilovelblue · 27/11/2016 20:13

Rich I love Chartwell. The last time I went there was two years ago I think and we ended up in the shop sheltering from a thunderstorm at the end. The gardens are lovely and the house is one of those places you could imagine living in, unlike some of the aristocratic piles which are full of hideous furniture and paintings, do you agree? Did you get to see Jock the cat? When we went, I think he had not long been in residence, the previous Jock having died a few months earlier.

KeziaOAP · 27/11/2016 20:25

Maddie, I love ice cream is a new one from Carte D'Or. Have made the cake a couple of times since you gave the recipe I love but always cold on its own, as a warm pud definitely scrummy rich, family here for lunch..... no pudding leftovers Sad

MaddieMoo82 · 27/11/2016 20:29

Yum kezia aldi or Lidl not sure which, are doing a gingerbread icecream which I must get my hands on soon Grin

Ilovelblue · 27/11/2016 20:44

I did wonder if it was my recipe Kezia but didn't like to presume! I will have a look for the ice cream as it sounds very nice. Strangely enough, I had a piece of the apple cake last night - I found a small piece lurking in the freezer, just crying out to be eaten.
