There is no need for him as there is a clock on the wall of this kitchen Grin

Oh the bloody fake timing thing! What bollox it is.
I love venison and chocolate sauce too. And lemon posset.
Asparagus and lemon cake? Think there is a good reason you haven't had it Marcus.
Fucking William Sitwell. Supercilious twonk. Where's Jay?

fourquenelles · 10/11/2016 20:34

God I am sooo old. I remember Fay as a bright young thing back in the day.

Me too Fourq.
Thought that would be too weird.

Dear gods, she is good. Marcus and Monica love her.

Amummyatlast · 10/11/2016 20:56

Couldn't believe Marcus when he said yorkshires shouldn't go with a roast. I'm from Yorkshire originally and we had chicken roasts with yorkshires twice a week when growing up.

SallyGardens · 10/11/2016 20:58

I found you :)

As usual I'll be watching time delayed but will add my thoughts all in one post as I'm watching.

fourquenelles · 10/11/2016 20:59

Right one went. That Elly is fabulous.

See you next week.

*Roast chicken, yum. I think I'd be portioning the chicken first too, to make sure it's cooked through. Needs tonnes of stuffing though.

  • Love Elly! Marcus needs to make his mind up about the brief.

  • Josh has good ideas but lack of training showing through.

*Matt - My DD would love that carrot mash - it's her favourite part of a roast chicken dinner :)

  • Yorkshires are never wrong with a roast! Can't see red wine gravy either.

Mark - looks bland :(
*James - When the list of components takes longer to read than the dish does to eat, it's not usually a good sign.

And now for the critics...

SallyGardens · 10/11/2016 22:44

Ooh, interesting combo of critics. Stating the obvious as usual about the show being life changing.

I think I'm with Faye about veg in my desserts, though I do make an exception for carrot cake. Monica's face was priceless Grin

Do Marcus & Monica deliberately stand in the way? Near perfect comments for Elly again.

Did no one warn them about the curses that are chocolate desserts or panna cottas??

Timing people, timing! Monica is stunned. And the mess! Critics distinctly unimpressed. Disaster all around :(

Gutted as he was, he knew he was gone before he was sent :(

Hello Mastercheffians!

Have only just caught up on the the first episodes. Elly aside (love how cool and calm she is) they were pretty rubbish weren't they? Although I must say I did feel sorry for silver haired Scottish chef who ran over time. They kept nagging at him, the poor man was so stressed. I may even have pursed my lips in annoyance at Marcus.

As for Gregg, he gets bloody worse doesn't he? Gurning, gormless twat.,

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 15/11/2016 20:11

Another week and the curse of "xxxx is my passion" strikes with a seafood chef that can't fillet a fish or make ceviche.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 15/11/2016 20:15

And Squoosh! Bloody good to see you.
Claudio is ok.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/11/2016 20:16

Elly last week was fabulous.

This is an icky test. Raw fish. BLEURGH.

squoosh · 15/11/2016 20:17

Bloody good to see you too missus! Grin

I think Claudio was in fact Peter Kay dressed up as an Italian chef.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/11/2016 20:19

That pork looks delicious, the sauce less so (though it sounds tasty).

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 15/11/2016 20:20

I reckon he's been too close to the grill looking at his eyebrows.
Tarragon-my personal hate. But that looks lovely (dh says where's the spuds?)

squoosh · 15/11/2016 20:20

Oh I love tarragon. And plenty of it!

Myself and Marcus are so in tune.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/11/2016 20:21

Wasn't looking at the TV when this chef started talking. I was expecting Robbie Coltrane, not Ron Weasley.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 15/11/2016 20:21

That's Malmaison then. (What was that green shit?)

squoosh · 15/11/2016 20:22

Why is the chop in the oven?

squoosh · 15/11/2016 20:24

Oh good Lord, is the David Beckham fin hairstyle back? How very 2004.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/11/2016 20:26

Shock The bone on top!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 15/11/2016 20:26

To cook slowly and rest? Raw fat, boak.
And pink pork.
