Trailer of lots of people with angst and not Phil Collins here. There's another trailer on the Homeland FB page but I can't find a non-FB page to link to. 15th January in US so I reckon 22nd for us - it's usually a week later.

So - Salieri/Dar Adul features prominently and Carrie has some issues with him. Someone's having a torch shone on their pupils - does that mean Quinn's alive but non-responsive? Baby Brodie is now school-aged. Could I be more excited?

And he's hot.

Charley50 · 27/02/2017 14:41

Oops! Rabbit named!!! Ffs!

nightswimming1 · 27/02/2017 15:04

I appreciate that Charley but I still don't think it's realistic parenting (after the terrifying situation that lasted a day and her promises to make it up to Frannie) that she would then send her away.

Charley50 · 27/02/2017 15:09

True nightswimming.

OneWithTheForce · 27/02/2017 15:26

What was odd that after a traumatic day she packed her daughter off with her nanny for a few days - that was unrealistic.

It's really true to form for Carrie though. Work always comes first for her. She doesn't seem to consider franny's emotional needs at all of her need for her mother not just an adult as long as she is physically looked after.

Charley50 · 27/02/2017 15:36

That's what I meant OneWith.
Sigh I love talking about Homeland.

Lweji · 27/02/2017 16:15

Maybe the ranting was supposed to have different accents to show how fake the radio twat was. :)

He is British. He played the husband in the series Medium, with Patricia Arquette.

Cocolepew · 27/02/2017 17:06

Carrie did say she was packing clothes and then following Frannie. But true to form she's found the phone so will probably bugger off runnibg atound NY.

FoolandFitz · 27/02/2017 18:04

What I couldn't see was what Carrie saw at the end - it was too dark and couldn't work out what was happening in the window. Can anyone shed any light on it?

Lweji · 27/02/2017 18:07

I thought it was a shadow behind it, showing that there was indeed someone watching her.

FoolandFitz · 27/02/2017 18:08

I agree with the possibility of alt-right involvement.

Yes, I do think there may be an element of it there but you know, thinking on it a bit further, there is always an international element to Homeland so if we are going with what's happening out in the real world, maybe the Russians?

Cocolepew · 27/02/2017 18:58

Someone was peeking through the blinds in the house across the street.

Ciutadella · 27/02/2017 19:47

Rewatched. Now I understand, everything Quinn does is to protect Franny. So when he takes the phone from the nanny he says 'they're listening' - ie he is trying to stop them getting at Franny. And we know he is not paranoid....

And ooh yes why does the tricoteuse shut the door in total silence and with that weird expression on her face? I think pp may be right that it's an alt right conspiracy - she has infiltrated the staff!

Lweji · 27/02/2017 19:50

They are certainly trying to prevent the President-elect to contact anyone but the President and his people.

I wish they could have done that to Trump. Wink

Anyway... I wonder whose idea that was. Darth Adal?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 27/02/2017 19:53

Don't think she's infiltrated the staff, I think all the staff are under orders from Dar to keep the PE isolated and under control.

Ciutadella · 27/02/2017 20:05

Risky career strategy for Dar - if PE survives this to be President Dar will be looking at early retirement/demotion fairly soon!

I couldn't make out the person peeking from opposite Carrie's house at the end, but will trust those who have higher resolution tv screens!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 27/02/2017 20:11

He's looking at early retirement anyway.

And if things don't go as planned for him then he most definitely has a scapegoat lined up.

Hassled · 27/02/2017 20:47

I don't really understand what Dar is thinking is going to happen with the PE. The fact that he's isolating her and undermining her to this extent indicates he doesn't think she will ever actually be sworn in - but there's a relatively short window between election and inauguration day (early November to mid-January?), so what can he effect in that time?

And yes re Carrie's bipolar becoming seemingly a thing of the past - there's been a shift from her being the unstable one and Quinn being rock-solid to the other way round. She's making her usual iffy judgements, but there hasn't been a Wall of Crazy so far.

OP posts:
Fiderer · 01/03/2017 11:28

Dar must be trying to mould the PE (with her anti-war stance) into someone more pliable. At least shape public opinion back to "We're under attack" mode & so undermine her before she takes office. And scupper the Iranian deal.

Hope she sees through it. Thought the Secret Service (US not MN Wink ) comes under Homeland Security, would the CIA have that much influence as to keeping her so isolated? S'pose Darth Adal would report 'intelligence' to swing it his way.

OneWithTheForce · 01/03/2017 13:20

They made a point of showing Carrie wasn't drinking anymore so I reckon that is them saying she is stable and not drinking means her meds aren't constantly getting fucked about.

OneWithTheForce · 01/03/2017 13:23

Yes I think dar is trying to put the PE in a panic where she "sees sense" (his version of sense) and agrees anti-war is ridiculous and does whatever he advises.

SmellTheGlove · 04/03/2017 07:36

This thread dropped off 'threads I'm on' somewhat mysteriously. I think Dar may be deliberately isolating me.

Fiderer · 04/03/2017 12:47

Glove Did you stack your desk high with SaulSnacks? Advocate a truce with the Iranians & want to confirm any rumours of their violating the nuclear treaty?

Any of those would get you isolated.

SmellTheGlove · 04/03/2017 20:04

My SaulSnacks are hidden in my chignon. It's back now so I think I'm in the clear.

Missanneshirley · 04/03/2017 23:11

Just caught up on this...
I think carrie saw someone peeking at her apartment from the one across the road. And did the registration plate on the car in the pics on quinns phone mean something to her? I thought she zoomed in meaningfully !
