Trailer of lots of people with angst and not Phil Collins here. There's another trailer on the Homeland FB page but I can't find a non-FB page to link to. 15th January in US so I reckon 22nd for us - it's usually a week later.

So - Salieri/Dar Adul features prominently and Carrie has some issues with him. Someone's having a torch shone on their pupils - does that mean Quinn's alive but non-responsive? Baby Brodie is now school-aged. Could I be more excited?

There was a nanny/chlidminder with Frannie last week

Hassled · 29/01/2017 22:30

Yes, who did put Franny to bed? Max? Why was she unattended alone in her bed? AIBU would be up in arms.

Sekou

But Zika will probably stick. :)

Cocolepew · 29/01/2017 22:32

Sekou Hassled.

I think Max is very similar to Chandler. I forgot Virgil was his brother though. Am assuming she's going to use him to get access to info she wouldn't be able to get otherwise.

Quinn seemed calmer when he knew the truth. He must realise she loves him.

Poor Saul he so is getting kidnapped again.

Lweji · 29/01/2017 22:34

I think Dar thought Saul was lying, or he just wants to be one step ahead. Saul has been left out of the loop for Dar's conspiracy anyway. And he seemed to agree with the President Elect last time, so maybe Dar thinks he's in a conspiracy with the President and Carrie.

TheSpottedZebra · 29/01/2017 22:34

She lurves him but but but... she also destroyed him, remember, as she made the decision to pull him out of his coma (?) to get info, knowing that that might kill him. Well, it didn't kill him, not quite, but then she didn't get the info either. But she still saved the day.

KittyOShea · 29/01/2017 22:36

He used to look like Chandler but is much better looking now. The grey beard suits him.

Much better episode I thought. Shaping up nicely. Although I don't like it when Saul and Carrie are enemies because Saul is good Grin

OneWithTheForce · 29/01/2017 22:36

What is Max's job?

TheSpottedZebra · 29/01/2017 22:37

Still, nice that Max was trying to get Quinn to shower for us .The tease.

I think Saul was lying. I don't think he believed Carrie but didn't want to give her up to Dar.

TheSpottedZebra · 29/01/2017 22:39

What are Saul and Dar's actual jobs this season? They've both been head of the CIA, Saul has done loads of area/bureau jobs whereas Dar was Black Ops. But now?

TheSpottedZebra · 29/01/2017 22:40

I thought Max had a touch of the Matt Damons today.

OneWithTheForce · 29/01/2017 22:41

Yes could we have a list of everyone and their job please as I am very confused.

Sunloving01 · 29/01/2017 22:46

Ohh, the Homeland thread! I posted on it last year but under a different username.

SO glad it's back, I've missed it so much, my favourite programme ever! Grin

So glad Quinn's alive but also sad that he's a shadow of his former self Sad

Saul is going to get sent to Abu Duabi and will get kidnapped again Hmm it'll probably be Carrie to the rescue again Hmm

I'm hoping Quinn recovers somewhat and is back to being a hot sniper.

Dar is dodgy as hell as always.

Um, not sure what else yet, just so thankful Carrie and her wobbly lip are back on our screens!

FoolandFitz · 29/01/2017 23:09

I need to be in bed but that scene where Carrie and Quinn are together and talking was so poignant that I might have shed a tear.

I think that why question might be interpreted in different ways.

Pigeonpost · 29/01/2017 23:53

Totally Fooland. I think he was saying why as in why did you save me and leave me to this life of misery, you should have just let me die. I think she knew that too. She couldn't say because I love you because it's too selfish a reason.

auntyemaily · 30/01/2017 00:01

Greetings Homeland team. I've not posted before but always follow the thread alongside watching (thread is sometimes better).
I watched the first half of tonight's thinking is Quinn shower phobic due to him being held in a cubicle for the sarin-ation? But it then emerged he had no memory of the events so I'm not so sure.
Also confused about the "why" question. Has Quinn forgotten about their shared history and his letter to her etc, or is he brain damaged to the extent that he no longer understands emotions?

FoolandFitz · 30/01/2017 07:35

I couldn't understand the door to the basement business. I thought that Carrie had locked him in as he was not able to get out the previous night but in the morning she could not get in.

OneWithTheForce · 30/01/2017 08:35

Personal interpretation of the "why" question is he was asking "why didn't you just let me die instead of leaving me like this?"

northender · 30/01/2017 08:55

I'm back for another Homeland MN fest. Last night's episode was much better than the first I thought. Long since gave up trying to figure out who is in what job/trying to double cross who etc, my brain hurts just trying to keep up with the basic plot. I then rely on coming on here to help me out!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 30/01/2017 09:26

I wondered how Carrie got to be advisor to the `PE, but of course it was because of Otto.

I do think Carrie saved Quinn out of duty and because it was the right thing to do but not because of love, the love was always more on his side.

OneWithTheForce · 30/01/2017 10:37

I agree char, I think there was never a question that she wouldn't save him. I think she would have saved Dar Adal if it had have been him in Quinn's position.

OneWithTheForce · 30/01/2017 10:37

BUT I do think she loves him. Certainly more than she loves Dar Grin

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 30/01/2017 10:54

She's heavy on the duty, isn't she?
