It was a very different week this week from last. Last week was a bit lacklustre despite being Halloween week, which I usually enjoy. I only really liked Greg's and Laura's dances, and only Laura's dance scored well. This week the overall standard was much better, which means Laura picked a bad week to do a so-so dance. Something odd about her and Giovanni's body language too. Last week they were all cuddles, and this week it was quite distant, hardly any eye contact and when they weren't being interviewed they weren't even standing near each other. And I thought he was a bit mean to out-dance her the way that he did. We all know that the pros are able to dance far better than they actually do, but usually they hold back in order not to make their celebs look bad.

Having found the Anton news on twitter, KFG popped up. His bio includes 'property investor'...bleurgh! Like him even less. And wil he stop that RIDICULOUS jump. Every. Sodding. Week.

That's lovely for Anton. 🙂

It is good news for Anton, congrats to him. He's going to be knackered though, twins mean more than double the work of a single, and he's 50, a very fit and healthy 50 obviously, but still a shock to the system. Does that make it more likely that this is his last year as a pro on Strictly? It would be tough on his girlfriend if he is basically not home at all for three months next year.

Aw, that is lovely news for Anton.

I agree about Giovanni's choreography this week. He made Laura look bad and I think less of him for it. She seemed very upset, which is a shame.

Did anyone hear who is performing on the results show?

I liked Ed, Daisy I adore. I thought Danny Mac did well but he is like a pro dancer.

I actually love them all, cry every week when somebody has to go home.

I did wonder if Giovanni was overdancing and hogging the limelight because Laura is still feeling the sore ankle thing. He's not normally a twat. He has got a weak chin though, apropos of nothing.

Claudia undermarked I thought.

I think Laura could be at risk of being in the dance off this week. I think she's done really well given that, as far as I know, she doesn't have any dance experience, but I really feel that she'd have been better off being paired with someone less competitive and more sympathetic than Giovanni, like Aliashz (spelling) or Pasha for example. Giovanni is a superb dancer, but seems very competitive and wants to win and I think he should have been paired with Claudia, who I think could definitely win, due to her gymnastics background. I fear Daisy could be at risk again of being in the dance off. I hope not, as I think she's good, and I really like her personality (although I know it's not a personality contest). I think it was a mistake having Danny Mac in Strictly. He's clearly a pro dancer and whilst I think we need to have the mixture of those with a dance background and those with no dance background, part of the joy of strictly is watching how people improve and that isn't possible when someone is already excellent.

For me Ore and Laura put in the worst performances, Laura looked as miserable as sin and I think Ore has peaked - his last couple of dances have been disappointing and have exposed a lack of technique.

I honestly don't think Laura has ever looked happy being in Strictly. I'm not sure if it's due to being paired with Giovanni (I read an interview with her where she was apparently in tears over rumours of them getting together, she she emphatically denied) or whether she is just uncomfortable with the dancing. I do think given that Georgia May Foote is a good friend of her's, she should have been paired with someone else.

Mummy I agree that there seems to be something 'off' in the relationship between Giovanni and Laura.

Strictly has been spoiled a bit for me! I had no idea the results show was filmed straight after the live show. Somebody just ruined it on Twitter

I am weak willed and often look up the spoiler but I would be mortified if I let on to someone else what the result was. That's not cool. I wish they'd just put the results show on at 10 and be done with all of the lying about what happened "last night". I feel really sorry for Laura having to dance in a sexy way with your friend's ex live on TV... Awkward!

I think I only found out the results werent live last year. I did always think it strange that they all had to get into full make up and costumes the next day though! Recording it the same day makes perfect sense when you think about it.

I never look up the spoiler though.

My God that music for Claudia's paso doble was shocking love the song but so so inappropriate! Of all the bad song choices over the years, this was way up there!

Somebody on DS said that if you watch the dance with no sound you can see how good the dancing is and interestingly my DS1 was listening to something on his headphones but watching the tv and he commented that it looked really good

One other observation from last night...Ore is SO overmarked this week in particular but over the last few weeks in general. Why??

Don't think he is over-marked, and he is absolutely gorgeous to watch.

Morning really enjoyed last night and im not sure who will go tonight I think Ed is safe so maybe Daisy which is a shame as her dance was lovely really enjoyed it or Ore i think he has peaked. I think property developer KFG and Louise have a shot at winning

When I did a partner prediction I had paired Laura with Brendan and Anastacia with Giovanni. I still think that would have worked far better, Laura is a bit too tall for Giovanni and Anastacia was too short for Brendan. I'm pretty sure the personalities would have worked better too.

Giovanni and Claudia could never have been partnered together, he's a sleezeball and she's a child.

Just rewatched Laura & Giovanni - as soon as he unbuttoned his jacket it was like he thought - right I've had enough of this let's show her how it's done - and went off being bloody fantastic and Laura was left floundering - at the end the camera was on his spins - Laura barely got aloof in.

Laura and Daisy if the dance off I would guess. Like Daisy but I find her dancing very dull

He did a Brendan who outdanced Anastacia last week it was really annoying i was shouting at the tv RIiight we get it you can dance while poor laura was just jiggiling away

Rewatched Danny's jive and asked myself: what is it missing to make Len give it a 9 rather than a 10?

Then compared it to Louise's AT and thought: of course! A Clifton!
