Not Lenny Henry, no. They said the character name 'Henry' as the photo came into shot, which probably had a subconscious effect.

He's an actor who's been the dad in something. It's driving me mad. The bushy moustache doesn't help.

Manumission · 13/10/2016 13:35

I don't think he'll be the (main) perpetrator. But there's some knowledge or involvement there, hence Baptiste searching so far and wide for the son.

Bragadocia · 13/10/2016 13:43

I grabbed an image off iPlayer of the actor in the photograph at the funeral. I know I know him - who is it!? Not listed in the cast. Really annoying me now!

So frustrating, I also just checked the cast list. Apologies for anyone confused by my Lenny Henry remark, I'm not sure who it is now I've had another look. Feel rather foolish.

Henry Reed could definitely be the perpetrator though

Bragadocia · 13/10/2016 13:48

I'm leaning towards the idea that his son (Daniel) incorrectly believed his dad to be involved, killed him and made it look like a suicide after Alice escaped, but that he (the father - Henry) will turn out not to be the perpetrator at all.

Manumission · 13/10/2016 13:51

Oh I like that Brag. It's the type of thing the Williams brothers would write, definitely.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 13/10/2016 13:54

I am going to have to watch it again I was so confused and I think I fell asleep at one point

Superdinocharge · 13/10/2016 14:23

I though Daniel looked surprised to see blood when he came in, -alyhough then seemed to know where the blood from hence the need to cover it up by cleaning.

ewanthedreamsheep · 13/10/2016 15:07

I think Lenny Henry is Brian Bovell (Leo Valentine from Hollyoaks - Ricky Whittle's dad).

Callmesausage · 13/10/2016 16:35

Yes Ewan, definitely Brian Bovell, used to play the neighbour in Gimme Gimme Gimme

EverySongbirdSays · 13/10/2016 16:56

There are two Missing threads I've just noticed. How confusing. Is there anyway of getting them merged?

iamthedanger · 13/10/2016 17:31

Could the blonde lady at the funeral be the same lady at the supermarket who abandoned her trolley?

BakeOffBiscuits · 13/10/2016 18:20

Yes I remember Brian Bovell in Gimme Gimme, so funny!

diddl · 13/10/2016 18:39

Haven't watched yet but looking forward to it-no James Nesbitt!!

MoonfaceAndSilky · 13/10/2016 18:55

There are two Missing threads I've just noticed. How confusing. Is there anyway of getting them merged?

Yes, just in case we weren't confused enough Confused

diddl · 13/10/2016 21:29

I really enjoyed it.

David Morrisey, Roger Allam, Laura Fraser, the big guy from Trapped.

No clue what's going on though.Blush

HarryPottersMagicWand · 14/10/2016 12:15

There are 2 threads because I started one last week saying it was back. It was then commented on and kept going but then this one popped up. Not sure how they could be merged.

Powergower · 14/10/2016 19:57

Bloody mind boggling. And if watching wasn't confusing enough then I read this thread for answers and and doubly mind boggled by the Lenny Henry reference! And there's another thread to.....

There was a v famous Belgian case where 2 girls were kept in a cellar. It transpires that the perpetrators were spread across the upper echelons of society and the investigation was massively thwarted. I wonder if this series is going to explore the same kind of themes.

I found the moving between time periods really confusing and annoying tbh. Too many flashbacks too often.

EverySongbirdSays · 14/10/2016 20:04

How about one of the 2 original OPs start a thread on Wednesday, Missing Ep 2 and we all migrate across, with a link two the new thread on both threads.

Manumission · 14/10/2016 20:34

It's based on or 'inspired by' the Belgian cases Power

shins · 14/10/2016 20:55

God that Dutroux case was probably the worst story I've ever heard. It hit the news the week I gave birth to my first child and I was just floored with it, that new mother realisation of what a world you've brought a tiny person into. It must be 20 years now.

shins · 14/10/2016 20:56

Although I don't think there was any real evidence in the end of a big conspiracy, was there? The girl who survived said she never saw anyone but Dutroux.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 14/10/2016 22:24

That's a good idea Every. Not sure if enough people will realise and stop commenting on either of these threads though as they will be in their TIO. Although the link could go at the end of each of these threads.

I was so chuffed I had actually started a thread that was useful and people commented on, then this one popped up. Grin

EverySongbirdSays · 14/10/2016 22:30

Bless you Mr Potter

I tended to man the Game Of Thrones threads and would start a new one at 2am each Monday, people soon got the hang of jumping threads. Anne, who mans the Big Brother threads tends to write

NEW THREAD CLICK HERE

and then repost several times, so that people realise they need to move.

RTKangaMummy · 14/10/2016 22:55

HARRYPOTTERSMAGICWAND I did look through the Telly Addict titles before I posted and didn't see your thread hence why i put the Telly Addict Alert

i did it so that either the old MNetters who watched last time or the new ones who might like something to watch

i did the title in the style that I did many years ago when my full name was RadioTimesKangaMummy when my "job" on MN was to tell MNetters of the TV programmes that IMHO or IME was a good programme coming up that day or week

I am sorry i didn't mean to upset or cause confusion to people
