Glad you guys are all gripped too

DH and I think this is another person pretending to be Alice hence why mum is checking the old photos on rollercoaster

She didn't know where the bedroom was which she surely would remember if it was really Alice

The woman he was in bed with is Sargent Stone who was preggers in 2014

Yikes at the end! How did they make her eyes look so big. And while I do love Baptiste, had to laugh at the documentary. Has he ever found anyone yet?

HalfShellHero · 12/10/2016 22:15

I'm loving it already can't wait for the next episode, I'm wondering is its just she's different/psychologically or physically the way the mum was looking at old photos of her in bed. Very a 'la The Imposter , incredible documentary if you've never seen it.

iamthedanger · 12/10/2016 22:16

Alice's dad is shagging the army lady (pregnant in 2014)

NoelHeadbands · 12/10/2016 22:17

I think I'll keep Wednesday nights alcohol free for a while, I've no chance of following that with a few glasses of wine inside me.

Good though!

RTKangaMummy · 12/10/2016 22:21

I think the army officer (who is black guys dad) who killed himself did so cos "Alice" left or was released by the son

Hence blood on the floor that was Dad killing himself or "Alice" blood as she left so why he was upset by it

Yes thought "Alice" eyes/pupils were very very large

Maybe result of drugs

I think Alice's birthdate was 13.5.1992 on the gravestone.

The rollercoaster bit totally lost me. Not helped by the phone ringing while I was trying to get to grips with what was going on.

Did she come back just before Christmas?

if the date on the grave if before December then it's a different girl who escaped, though we don't know how she escaped and what really happened.

I've rewound things four times and am still lost

PopFizz · 12/10/2016 22:31

Date on grave was 22/12/14. Other guys funeral had his casket with date 14/12/14 on it

Badgoushk · 12/10/2016 22:34

Following

LarkDescending · 12/10/2016 22:34

They had Christmas cards on the mantelpiece when "Alice" came home.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 12/10/2016 22:35

December 22 would be after the Alice who might not be Alice returned, so that's my theory gone.

Manumission · 12/10/2016 22:37

Yes hesterton I think you're right - something or someone else in the photos, maybe someone following her.

Callmesausage · 12/10/2016 22:41

Wow, difficult to follow, but excellent. Wish we would watch the whole series straight away, I don't want to spread it out over 6 weeks!

EmilyDickinson · 12/10/2016 22:41

I watched the previous series. Sad to hear that Olly (the missing in series 1) is dead. I think that at the end of series 1 his dad was still trying to find him.

I can't believe that DNA testing the returned girl wouldn't be absolutely standard in 2014. It's so easy to do. She's at a hospital. She's had an operation. It's surely the first thing they'd do.

If the girl isn't Alice then is she Sophie? I can imagine that if they were held together for 11 years they'd know every detail of each other's lives eg that Alice called her brother Midget and Sophie could have done the homemade spider tattoo at some stage.

I can't work out why anyone would pretend to be Alice though. Does it mean that instead of searching for Sophie, they are in fact searching for Alice?

What has happened to the military police woman's baby? She was 7 or 8 months pregnant in 2014 but there was no sign of a baby in her flat in the present day. She almost threw away the ultrasound picture but instead hid it. Who is / was the baby's father? Could it be Sam (Alice's dad)? Were they having an affair in 2014?

PikachuSayBoo · 12/10/2016 22:43

I wondered if she could be Sophie but wouldn't Sophie have a french accent? Even after eleven years of maybe speaking English with Alice?

LarkDescending · 12/10/2016 22:46

Sophie's surname was French. Do we know where she was from & where she went missing? Obviously "Alice" speaks perfect English.

LarkDescending · 12/10/2016 22:46

X-post!

EverySongbirdSays · 12/10/2016 22:47

SO many questions

  1. Is it Alice?
  1. If it isn't who is it? Her first words were Sophie. Is she Sophie?
  1. Is the perpetrator the young soldier or Lenny Henry, who clearly has a part?
  1. If she is a mother where are the children? Again Alice's or Sophie's?
  1. How did David Morrisey get burned?
  1. The soldier womans baby, did it die?
  1. Why does a military child sound like a Cockney?
  1. How are they still in Germany a decade later? Postings aren't that long or are they?
EverySongbirdSays · 12/10/2016 22:51

Emily

The point of S1 of The Missing was that the father refused to accept the fact of his death, and kept searching Sad

TallulahTheTiger · 12/10/2016 22:52

So confused!! But yy to combats to a funeral?! Was impressed they actually had uptodate kit on and not 95s. But then they spoiled it! Who will be the 'missing'? Sophie?
