For those who loved it last time, will you watch after the let down of the ending? (Well I felt it was a let down, don't think there was a proper conclusion at all and still room for doubts as to whether he was still alive or not).

I loved it though and will definitely be watching the next series. I've seen the trailer and it looks very very good. Julian (think that was his name) is still in it. Looks like it is based on JayCee Dugard/Elizabeth Fritz type cases where they have gone missing as children and reappeared years later.

Cannot wait!

Woooah so who's in the shed

youarenotkiddingme · 02/11/2016 22:05

Wow the super sleighs were right abiut a third girl.

I also noted she said 'Sams daughter'

Also confused by the didn't Eve want kids story.

Also wondered about Sam fathering another girl.

More convinced now that Brig does have dementia.

Feel sorry for 2014 Matthew and can see why he went off the rails. Alsomtotallynbeieve in Hertz innocence and Mathhew innocence re his wife.

And was that Sophie at the end or the Sophie/Alice who returned?

Lilaclily · 02/11/2016 22:06

Ok please can someone explain who the three girls are in the photo
Sophie
Alice
And a random third girl ? Was the girl sitting in the back with a cross on Alice? Or Sophie? Because I don't recognise either of them in the photos, it's a bad photo or is it just me

mummummummummm · 02/11/2016 22:06

So confusing! Did the third girl never get reported as missing then? And why isn't mum calling the French man about her finding- surely he should be on her side given he doubted Alice's identity...

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2016 22:06

To help explain things 😂😂

So it's still basically.....

Who the fuck is Alice?

😂

JustDanceAddict · 02/11/2016 22:09

Agree with Lark. Maybe all the girls will turn out to be Sam's daughters.
And why so many scan pics of Eve's baby - usually you get 2 scans - I had a few extra scans when pregnant with DD for monitoring a potential issue, but didn't get pics each time. Are they of multiple babies?

SouthWestmom · 02/11/2016 22:10

I bloody said three girls. I win.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 02/11/2016 22:11

Ooo very good!

We still don't know who attacked Nadia and why exactly.

Sam blames Matthew for Alice dying.

DNA test done confirming body was related to Sam, annoying, why didn't they do Gemma or dental records?

Present day Gemma doesn't believe it was Alice so why do her and Julien doubt the DNA results?

Matthew pushed Eve which caused her to lose the baby. It was hers, doubt she was a surrogate. Sam probably doesn't want to hear about the baby because his son caused her to lose it.

Thrid girl was take in Iraq. By Henry Reed and the Brigadier. Girls brother got paid for it.

Third girl was on the roller coaster with them, which one is in the shed? Necklace suggests it was the third girl (DH said the shed body had a crucifix on) ut why would DNA match Sam? Surely he can't have fathered a child to someone in Iraq.

Sophie is alive and in Switzerland. She has faked her death and returned to the country where the resprayed camper is. She also put flowers on Henry Reeds grave, Stockholm syndrome?

blondes thank you! That's a fab recap I can go to bed slightly happy now Grin

youarenotkiddingme · 02/11/2016 22:12

I had scans every 4 weeks with DS. I have about 30 scan photos from the 8 weeks bean to 37 weeks. Hospitals abroad monitor more but didn't fucking give pain relief where I gave birth

Tonight's episode just gave me more questions than answers! I'm fully hooked now!

Optimist1 · 02/11/2016 22:14

My head's spinning! Can anyone remember why they thought the girl who came out of the forest was Alice? She mumbled Sophie's name, but was it solely because she was close to the Army base that they assumed she was Alice?

Fabulous acting from Keeley Hawes - her emotions are understated but so clearly shown. Terrible situation to find yourself in - marriage hanging by a thread, lost opportunities to reunite emotionally with her daughter (I know we know it wasn't Alice, but she's now convinced it was), son gone off the rails ...

HarryPottersMagicWand · 02/11/2016 22:14

Sam was also in Iraq with Henry Reed, the Brigadier and Nadia so they are all linked.

So umm…
SophieAlice came back, pretended to be Alice, burned a body in the shed that is said to contain Alice's dad's DNa, and is now living in Switzerland?
In the meantime either RealAlice is the body in the shed, or someone else.
If Alice is in the shed then why are Gemma and Julien convinced it's not her?
If it's not Alice in the shed then why was her DNA linked to DM? Is that because he is the third girl's dad/very close relative, or because someone faked the DNA result?
OTOH I suppose the woman in the Swiss cafe could be woman no.3 - who pretended to be Sophie pretending to be Alice, rather than being Sophie? In which case it could be Sophie in the grave?
Confused

HarryPottersMagicWand · 02/11/2016 22:15

Optimist when the army came to the school, they said to Gemma a girl has returned who claims she is Alice, so she said she was. After she was saying Sophie Giroux.

I gave a call completely new theory.
The girls were taken to protect them.
Sophie was pregnant, you can see it clearly on the film, Alice was going off the rails, the tattoo and everything, not sure about the 3rd girl.

Haven't worked out the rest, but I'm sure I'm on the right way.

Another thought! Could the third woman be Eve's sister? The one Brig referred to in the first episode? Perhaps Minder to the other 2 on behalf of the Brig? They certainly have the same colouring.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 02/11/2016 22:18

No, it is Sophie. She had the same nervous habit and she reacted when Julien called her Sophie and when he was saying about Sophie's mum killing herself.

Sophie returned, pretending to be Alice. 'Committed suicide' but it turns out it wasn't Sophie/Alice but the body DNA matches Sam so either real Alice's body or someone else who Sam has fathered.

Julien seems to think Alice may still be alive though so there must be a reason.

CoshPunt · 02/11/2016 22:22

Maybe that's why they're keen to show us that Sam has it in him to have an affair?

Callmesausage · 02/11/2016 22:24

Maybe the Brigadier had a hand in altering the DNA result?

whyistherumgone · 02/11/2016 22:24

My brain is totally boggled.

I'm now wondering if Alice knew something about the Brig, Henry Stone and the Iraq crew somehow before she went missing - maybe she was trying to use the information somehow to blackmail them or something.
maybe that's the reason she was taken and that's the reason she was sent back - to test the Brig somehow? or to put pressure on him/as a threat?
perhaps he did as he was told or kept his mouth shut as he was supposed to so they made it look like the Alice who had returned had died.
The butcher could have been fingered for it because the wife Nadia who was in Iraq with them told him whatever it was they had done - so that keeps him out of the way. And the beating for her is a threat for her not to talk or an effort to actually kill her so she can't talk?

so it all actually hinges on what happened in Iraq and trying to keep that hushed up?

I'm still none the wiser as to the DNA test or the third girl. I do think Sophie-Alice who came back is actually Sophie Giroux though.
Chilling that she's back wher the camper van is.

AnnieNoMouse · 02/11/2016 22:25

f a 9 yr old girl was taken in Iraq in 1991, she would be 25ish by 2016- that's about right I think? What year were the other girls taken?

She'd be 34 in 2016.
Sophie was taken in 2002 I think, and Alice in 2003 - Alice def after Sophie anyway. So not much older than the age at which something bad happened to the Iraqi girl (did her brother say she was killed, I didn't catch that bit).
